Elden Ring: Starting as Melina’s Sister

Ch. 115 She had lost the rationality of an ordinary person

  • Next Chapter

She had lost the rationality of an ordinary person, just like a starving person who had been hungry for days seeing food, or like a dying traveler in the desert discovering a real oasis.

No matter the cost…

Then, she saw golden starlight passing through the veil.

Yes, it was not Mia’s consciousness that broke through the seal, but the golden starlight that pierced through the veil.

Was it the starlight summoned by her determination?

The person, or thing, that had placed the seal on Mia wanted to block the golden starlight that had come through the seal.

The veil before Mia became increasingly opaque, a pure white seal against the starry sky, aimed only at her, was taking shape.

But at this moment, in the infinitely wide, infinitely vast universe.

More golden starlight emerged from the stars.

Among the white, blue, cyan, and red stars, the golden starlight overwhelmed everything.

Flashing one after another.

Within it was contained a supreme power capable of overriding everything, capable of dominating everything.

The golden starlight shone… no, it bombarded that white seal.

“Crack.”

In her ears, there came the crisp sound of something cracking.

Cracking like dry land illuminated by scorching sunlight, it was that seal, imposed on Mia by who knows who, or what.

“Crack.”

Another sound.

Instantly, the seal receded.

Not because it shattered, but because the person or thing that applied this seal actively withdrew the seal on the starry sky under the impact of the golden starlight.

Was it a compromise?

The white dissipated before her eyes, and from behind it came that golden starlight that Mia longed for.

The starlight, which had easily torn through the seal with supreme power, gently entered Mia’s sea of consciousness.

That light…

That light was so familiar and intimate.

Calmness returned to the girl’s consciousness.

A supreme power that surpassed everything and could not be profaned.

It was just like an invisible hand, stroking the girl who was stargazing.

But why?

That hand seemed incredibly heavy…

Mia felt the fingers of the great power, withered and stiff, as if it were the palm of a late-life old man.

It stroked her in an extremely habitual, but no longer flexible, manner.

After a moment’s pause, the invisible hand was withdrawn.

Then, the golden stars twinkling in the sky gradually returned to calm, and the universe returned to its original colors.

At the very end, Mia seemed to hear a sigh of relief from someone or something in her ears.

— —

Consciousness returned to her body.

The starry sky was above the dark clouds, half-hidden.

How long had passed?

But it was still night anyway.

Mia felt as if she had been reborn.

If the power Melina had converted from runes had allowed Mia to take a step up.

Then this stargazing experience was like taking an elevator up several floors.

Whether it was her understanding of Glintstone Magic or the strengthening of her own power, she had reached a height she had never experienced before.

However, to truly glimpse the Primeval, her current focus was far from enough.

But she had achieved progress from zero to one.

The girl lowered her high-held head, and the situation around her surprised her.

“Is that glintstone?”

She saw that on the ground within a radius of about twenty meters around her.

The vegetation had disappeared.

Instead, countless cyan and blue glintstones pulled themselves out of the earth and soil, then, centering around her, they tilted in a counter-clockwise vortex.

Between those crystal-clear glintstones, apart from their inherent blue and cyan, golden colors flowed as well.

Mia observed with surprise the Glintstone Crystals beneath the stone slab she was standing on, appearing like a forest of spears.

The vegetation hadn’t disappeared; rather, it had been crushed and broken by the emerging Glintstone Crystals.

“Melina!” she tried calling out.

“Lady Mia!”

The latter appeared instantly by her side, unable to hide the worry in her eyes.

“What just happened?”

“It is like this…”

Mia learned from Melina’s words.

These cyan-blue glintstones with faint hints of gold were formed by the magic that overflowed while she was stargazing.

After listening, Mia’s throat moved, and she swallowed a mouthful of saliva.

The entire area of twenty meters, dense with glintstones so packed there was nowhere to step, was all condensed from the magic that had overflowed from her body.

Just the overflow of magic had reached this extent…

In Sellen’s records, even when two Primeval Sorcerers were cultivating, there had never been such an anomaly.

Mia lowered her head; her palms still looked fair and white.

Although it is said that as Primeval Sorcerers recreate more magic circuits within themselves, enabling them to cast more and more powerful magic, they become more like glintstone.

But she didn’t seem to show any signs of turning into glintstone.

However, those glintstones gave Mia inspiration.

‘Overflow… overflow…’ she recited silently in her heart.

She then reconstructed the formula she had created back when she wanted to manufacture glintstone.

Using ‘overflow’ as the keyword, she reconstructed and modified the formula.

Then.

‘Be filled.’

Mia aimed the circular glintstone at the tip of her staff at her palm.

After a faint light flickered, a regular-shaped Glintstone Crystal appeared in Mia’s hand.

Unlike the two hollow gems containing no magic that she had just created and given to the village elder and the innkeeper.

What Mia held in her hand now was undoubtedly a glintstone possessing magic.

She probed her attention into it.

Although the circuits within were incomplete, it was indeed a glintstone capable of being used as a staff core or for item crafting, and capable of conducting Glintstone Magic.

“Ugh…”

Mia felt a wave of dizziness, and the objects before her blurred…

This was a manifestation of her focus being about to be depleted.

Was the stargazing just now too draining?

She took out the Cerulean Flask and drank a large gulp.

“Whew.”

Although the consumption was great, correspondingly, her limit had increased quite a bit.

She yawned.

Well, this wasn’t an issue with her blue bar.

She was just simply a bit sleepy.

“Melina, let’s go back.”

“Okay.”

There were so many Glintstone Crystals that it was truly impossible to find a foothold, but in the face of Teleportation Magic, this was not a problem.

Before leaving, Mia still hesitated for a moment.

She pondered how to deal with the mess she had left behind.

After a while, unable to think of a solution, Mia decided to leave it alone.

As for the issue of leaving behind an unsolved mystery…

Don’t you think that’s cool?

This is really cool!

Later, when hearing rumors from others, she could chuckle to herself—that thing was created by me.

“Yeah. Let’s go.”
