Elden Ring: Starting as Melina’s Sister
Ch. 29 In the warhammer fantasy world
After all, even without her assistance, as long as the plot developed according to the script, the Skaven invasion would be thwarted by the brave people of Nuln.
But…
Damn it, the atmosphere has been built up to this point; it would be a waste not to pray!
This isn’t 40k.
In the warhammer fantasy world, gods walk everywhere; almost all countries in this place are polytheistic!
Life and nature, courage and glory, love and art, wisdom and knowledge—all these positive traits have corresponding gods of order, while the chaos gods representing the opposite traits are mortal enemies of the gods of order.
So.
Something flashy and righteous like the Erdtree.
Shouldn’t be targeted by the Empire’s Witch Hunters.
Thus.
Behind the mercenaries charging toward the Skaven army, a golden radiance rose.
Strength and vitality surged from within the mercenaries’ bodies.
The anomaly did not cause them to pause; the mercenaries accepted the grace from an unknown deity.
Wilden followed closely behind Gotrek, sweeping away the Skaven in front of him without showing any weakness.
The mercenaries behind them then shouted out the names of the gods they knew.
Sigmar, Taal, Ulric — The rising and falling battle cries echoed through the clouds; under the names of the gods, the warriors became a single entity, rolling forward.
But only Wilden knew where the light shining upon him came from.
In this world where the Erdtree could not be felt, he could still fight while bathed in the light of the Erdtree.
He didn’t want to be silent anymore; under the mask covering his face, the child of the Erdtree let out a shout.
“Great is the Erdtree!” He thought that when he swung his sword at those Royal Army Soldiers who were also children of the Erdtree, he had already lost the right to say those words.
But now, countless people would hear his shout and see his back as he charged toward those filthy creatures.
Mia heard it too.
She took a breath.
“Great is the Erdtree!” Felix turned his head in surprise; he saw the Erdtree emblem floating above Mia’s head, releasing holy light.
The mercenaries crushed the Skaven army; even when facing the tall Rat Ogres, the mercenaries surrounded by golden light did not have any desire to retreat.
They were fearless and pushed forward bravely.
Gotrek let out a deafening roar; his battle axe emitted a terrifying light in the reflection of the flames.
Though short, he roared as if an elephant were charging.
For a moment, those Rat Ogres were shocked by the fearless warriors and stopped in their tracks just as they were about to charge.
Gotrek rushed up, facing an enemy twice his size.
A flash of white light was seen, and the Rat Ogre’s legs were severed at the knees.
When it fell to the ground, Gotrek’s axe swung back around, instantly crushing its head; bone fragments, teeth, brains, and blood splattered everywhere.
Another Rat Ogre reached out its claws toward the dwarf, grabbing him instantly, its sharp nails sinking deep into his flesh.
The Rat Ogre lifted the dwarf up, and bright red blood dripped from Gotrek’s shoulder.
It was just about to open its foul-smelling mouth, and Gotrek also raised his axe.
At this moment, Wilden rushed forward, swinging his dual swords horizontally.
The blood-stained but still sharp blades silently sliced open the Rat Ogre’s stomach; intestines and blood sprayed all over the ground.
The Rat Ogre instinctively threw away the dwarf in its hand, clutching its stomach and bowing back, emitting a piercing wail in extreme pain.
The Royal Army Soldier took another step forward, thrusting his sword into the monster’s heart.
The Rat Ogre collapsed, twitching, and the dwarf who had been thrown away climbed back up.
“Well killed!
Manling!” Gotrek’s deep voice sounded like a great bell.
He raised his head to look at Wilden as if looking at an ordinary human.
Then…
he raised his head even higher.
Finally locking eyes with those golden pupils.
The dwarf snorted like a stubborn donkey; he didn’t notice his already healed wounds and continued to charge toward the next prey he had his eyes on.
The test promotion probably failed, but this book is still the best-performing one I’ve written at the same word count stage.
Win!
