Elden Ring: Starting as Melina’s Sister

Ch. 31 Facing the beautiful lady

  • Next Chapter

Facing the beautiful lady, Felix, who had received a higher education, bowed deeply.

“In addition, I would also like to pay my respects to you and your deity; without you, our battle would have resulted in countless casualties.” Mia smiled slightly.

She liked this feeling; her vanity was greatly satisfied.

A puff of hot air sprayed from the dwarf’s nose.

“What are you standing there for?

I’ll see who wants a beating!” He turned his anger toward the mercenaries standing around, scanning them with those crazy eyes, and the mercenaries immediately scattered.

They also had things to do, like counting the spoils of war and cleaning their weapons.

“That was a satisfying fight, manling.” Gotrek looked at Wilden: “You fought quite well.” Wilden didn’t care about a dwarf’s opinion, but he still nodded politely.

A question welled up in his heart.

‘How old is this guy?

Why does he call me manling?’ Then Gotrek turned his gaze to his good friend Felix: “You also did very well!” “Mm-hmm.” Felix accepted this well-deserved praise.

After all, he had taken down a Rat Ogre single-handedly.

Who would have thought that less than a year ago, he was just a college student who had been expelled?

“Alright, what’s next?” Gotrek asked suddenly.

“Huh?” “I said, you were the one who led the Skaven here, manling; they are weak and pathetic, I need to hack at something else.” “Oh!” Felix suddenly remembered the beginning of all this; he hadn’t just stumbled upon the moment of the Skaven attack: “We have to go to the Palace District!

To save the ruler of Nuln!” “He is your ruler, not mine!” “The one organizing this invasion is the Grey Seer Thanquol; he is a high-ranking leader of the Skaven, he planned this invasion, and he intends to assassinate the nobles of Nuln while launching an attack inside the city!” “Then, that Grey Seer.” Gotrek’s voice deepened, and he said very seriously: “Killing it will be a feat—even if one dies in the attempt, it would be a glorious death in battle.” “Yes, exactly.” Felix put his hands on his hips; he had persuaded Gotrek.

“But we still have a problem.” He continued.

“What problem?” “We have to fight our way through the entire city to get to the palace.” “That doesn’t count as a problem.” Mia, who had heard their conversation from the side, said: “We have an army now.” Hearing the girl’s words, Felix looked around.

Numerous citizens and mercenaries stood on the street.

Mia stood on that barrel: “Citizens of Nuln!” The girl gave a speech to the people for the second time; Mia always had endless inspiration on how to stir up the emotions in people’s hearts.

On the quiet battlefield, her voice was quite distinct: “Listen to me!” She saw people grabbing each other’s arms, pointing their fingers at her.

In that battle, Mia’s Prayer had already won her countless respect.

“These despicable Skaven have attacked our great city; they have burned our homes and killed our loved ones!

It is also them who have brought famine and plague to our streets!” “But order and justice are on our side!

We have already killed countless despicable monsters, but that is not enough!

We must drive the Skaven completely out of our city, because if we don’t, they will turn you and your families into slaves and food.

We must mercilessly exterminate these monsters, because they showed no mercy when they tried to exterminate us!” “Are you ready to take back your home?” “Yes!” Shouts mixed with anger erupted in the crowd.

Mia jumped off the empty barrel; when they heard Mia say she would grant them grace, the crowd immediately cheered.

Felix grabbed her: “How many more times can you channel grace?” “Like the one before?” That kind of large-scale Grace of the Erdtree and Golden Vow combo?

“Two rounds.” Mia replied.

There were two sips of the blue dew left.

“That’s great!” Felix chirped, he couldn’t think of any reason why humans would fail.

When the girl walked in the direction that guided her in her mind, which was the direction of the Palace District, all the mercenaries and militia spontaneously made way.

People raised their hands and shouted.

They needed a goal and a leader, and Mia gave them one.

Surrounded, Mia walked to the very front, facing a street covered with severed Skaven limbs.

Then, she regretted it.

She shouldn’t have come to the front; she should be in the center of the crowd, using Prayer to assist, not at the very front of the crowd!

But it seemed a bit late to squeeze back now.

Mia bit the bullet and raised her golden sword, taking a breath: “Let’s go!

I will bless your righteous battle!” Beside her was Wilden, as well as Felix and Gotrek; they rushed towards the distant palace together, and behind them, the angry crowd followed closely, like a torrent passing through the burning streets.

They didn’t encounter any more Skaven along the way; it seemed this massive offensive by the Skaven was a bit of a paper tiger.

The whole city was burning, and buildings collapsed with a roar from time to time.

They rushed up the hillside of the Upper City, charging into the walls of the Inner City.

Most of the nobles’ houses were intact; Nuln’s Inner City was a fortress, and the walls blocked the flames outside.

Felix saw a group of City Guards in black uniforms appear in the distance, holding halberds and fighting against the Stormvermin pouring in from all directions.

Mia had quietly fallen back to the center of the ranks.

She released two Erdtree Prayers.

Surrounded by golden holy light, the motley army of mercenaries and militia launched a charge toward the Inner City battlefield.
