Elden Ring: Starting as Melina’s Sister

Ch. 32 Intermittent echoes actually came from the crowd behind him

  • Next Chapter

“Praise the Erdtree!” Wilden shouted, holding his greatsword; this time he did not fall behind anyone, charging at the very front on his own.

“Praise the Erdtree!” Intermittent echoes actually came from the crowd behind him; several mercenaries spontaneously followed closely behind Wilden, shouting the holy name of the Erdtree.

This feeling was very strange, as if a group of foreigners were fanatically worshipping your country.

Nuln’s City Guards and the Skaven’s Stormvermin stopped their actions at almost the same time because of the suddenly appearing third party.

The next moment, both sides were equally shocked by the human mercenaries and militia that had suddenly surged out.

A special Skaven squeaked in a tone that was difficult for humans to distinguish; it was a Skaven Warlock, and an eerie green light appeared in its claw.

It muttered incantations, and Mia saw the spell-casting Skaven Warlock through the gaps between people’s shoulders.

Golden light and green light appeared almost simultaneously; Mia cast a third Erdtree Prayer to counter the Skaven’s evil energy.

Blessing of the Erdtree!

A faint, translucent golden film appeared on everyone covered by the blessing.

The Skaven Warlock grinned cruelly; it saw its plague spell land among those humans, green smoke shrouding them.

It couldn’t wait to see the humans covered in boils, wailing as they gradually rotted into pus.

However, the next second, it widened its eyes in disbelief.

The human mercenaries charged out of the green smoke completely unharmed, golden light shining in everyone’s eyes; the malicious spell had no effect at all!

The humans roared with high morale, ignoring the toxic mist.

Row after row of warriors charged out of the toxic mist, and not a single Soldier was harmed by it.

Those humans didn’t even slow down their charge.

The Skaven Warlock was stunned; it frantically chanted spells to protect itself, but the humans’ footsteps were too fast.

Before it could utter the last word of the spell, it saw a huge sword slashing towards it.

The advancing crowd trampled the fallen Skaven Warlock into pulp.

The mercenaries charged into the chaotic battle.

In front of them, not a single Stormvermin was facing them head-on, because Nuln’s Guards were all elites, and the halberds in their hands had long since made it difficult for the Stormvermin to escape.

The crowd swept across the battlefield like a torrential rain washing over the streets.

Stormvermin, are they harder to deal with than a Rat Ogre?

What’s more, they had a powerful priest!

Mia followed the crowd, placing herself under the protection of others.

This battle was different from the rearguard action to cover the civilians’ evacuation; she had never participated in such a large-scale team fight.

But at least her proficiency with MOBA games in her past life allowed her to figure out her positioning.

There were both Skaven and Nuln Guards ahead; she couldn’t wantonly splash fire anywhere, so it was better to be a support role behind the warriors, maintaining the effect of the Prayer.

From time to time, she would hack and slash at a straggling Skaven.

“There are Skaven in the palace!

They are trying to assassinate our legitimate leader!” The captain of the Nuln City Guards shouted at their reinforcements.

The palace gate behind them was wide open; a grand ball was supposed to be held tonight, and the gate was opened for late guests, but no one expected the Skaven to take this opportunity to launch an invasion.

The Guards at the door had long been cut down by the swarming Skaven, and the City Guards, pinned down by the Stormvermin, had no way to save the situation.

The arrival of the mercenaries gave the City Guard captain hope.

“Quick!” Felix shouted: “Retake the palace!

Kill every Skaven you see!” A Nuln Soldier lay on the ground, his windpipe just severed by a Skaven’s iron sword.

He leaned against the steps in front of the palace, blood gushing from the wound, feeling his life slipping away from the wound.

He saw their reinforcements scatter the foul-smelling Skaven army; people worked together to slaughter the Stormvermin.

A sense of vengeful gratification appeared in the soldier’s eyes; he saw the mercenaries pouring into the palace.

The Soldier let go of the burden in his heart; he already felt the hand of Morr, the God of Death, reaching out to him.

“Humans will win, so be it.” The Soldier thought, he would follow Morr to the peaceful afterlife— Until Mia saw this guy who was breathing more air out than in.

The girl immediately slid onto her knees in front of the Soldier, pressing the holy seal in her left hand against his chest.

Urgent Heal!

The wound on the Soldier’s neck healed miraculously, and he opened his eyes in a daze.

The Grim Reaper departed, perhaps carrying some confusion with him.

Mia pulled the Soldier up with force: “Go kill a few Skaven and avenge yourself!” Having said that, Mia joined the crowd retaking the palace without a moment’s hesitation.

She felt the grace, it was close at hand!
