Elden Ring: Starting as Melina’s Sister

Ch. 59 Mia suddenly lifted her head.

“I think I heard Kalé’s voice…”

Mia suddenly lifted her head.

The surroundings were filled with the crackling sound of burning Miranda Flowers, and the hot wind heated by the flames blew against her ears.

“But with those three little ones there, it should be fine…” Mia comforted herself.

One obvious fact was that she was lost again.

It wasn’t surprising in the slightest.

Being in the middle of a fire, almost everything she smelled was air filled with a mixture of various pungent odors.

Mia covered her face with a wet cloth to block out the foul smell.

The wet cloth was naturally torn from that poor Prophet’s robe.

The only consolation here was that, because of the Fire Dragon Talisman, Mia had no issues even walking directly through the flames.

Now this was more like a fire-type spellcaster.

As for Wilden, Mia had cast a Fire Protection on him.

It had to be said that fire was simply a devastating weapon when facing this type of biological enemy. After walking through several alleys, Mia hadn’t encountered any resistance.

Being lost was fine; she would just walk down every path she hadn’t taken yet.

You ask what a path she hadn’t taken was? Of course, it was the ones that hadn’t been burned yet, the ones still occupied by vines and Miranda Flowers! By the time she finished, she would surely have found that basement.

Flames continuously spewed from the girl’s left hand; she had turned into a self-propelled humanoid sterilization device.

As her proficiency increased, her control over her Prayer became more adept. She realized that her growth didn’t necessarily have to rely on golden runes.

By going through battle after battle and constantly training herself, she could also improve her strength.

Actually, this was a more intuitive way to get stronger, wasn’t it? Like doing one hundred push-ups, one hundred sit-ups, one hundred squats, and running ten kilometers every day.

The current Mia could already realize that the consumption of her Prayer casting, compared to when she had just transmigrated, had decreased by at least a quarter.

It was another indirect increase to her mana bar.

As she was thinking this, she finished burning the Miranda Flowers in another alley.

Besides the alleys, Miranda Flowers also grew in the rooms of those ruins.

Apart from the stone, everything else in the ruins—doors, furniture, or anything else—had long since weathered away into non-existence.

“Hm?”

Just as she was preparing to move toward the next target, Mia suddenly noticed a patch of white light spots emerging around her.

Instantly, some not-so-friendly memories appeared in her mind.

“Quick, dodge these white lights!” Mia shouted.

Wilden didn’t know what this was, but a normal person wouldn’t question a comrade’s warning.

Before the white light spots could rise to their peak, the two of them had already run out of the area covered by those light spots.

Next, Mia watched from a safe place that Rain of Light descending from the sky.

Mia knew what this was—a Prayer released by a giant Miranda Flower.

Well, plants in The Lands Between could cast Prayers now; what did that leave for those Tarnished with 9 Intelligence to do?

After one round of light rain, the Miranda Flower, which had yet to reveal itself, didn’t give Mia any time to catch her breath, and another patch of white light spots appeared under their feet.

It seemed that the Miranda Flower, which still hadn’t appeared, didn’t want to let them off so easily.

“Keep running, don’t stand in the white light!”

Even without Mia’s reminder, Wilden had seen the danger from the Rain of Light they had dodged earlier.

The light descending from the sky was far more imposing than crossbow bolts or similar things; one look and you knew it wasn’t something to mess around with.

The two of them quickly ran along the path they had come from, and the Rain of Light fell the moment their feet left the area.

Immediately after, the white light floated up again.

“Hiss—”

They were relentless. They wouldn’t even give them a chance to breathe.

The two had to open their legs and run again, but who would have thought that before they could dodge it this time, the white light suddenly appeared in front of them!

Could this thing predict their movements?!

In her surprise, Mia quickly steadied herself and led Wilden to run in another direction.

But this wasn’t an aimless flight; she had to find that annoying giant Miranda Flower as soon as possible.

Blindly escaping wouldn’t solve the obstacle between her and her target.

Unfortunately, the terrain here was vastly different from that in the game.

The flames in the girl’s hand burned through an alley; this seemed to have originally been a corridor inside some building, but the building had long since collapsed and decayed, and this corridor had lost its ceiling and was exposed to the open air.

Now, the remaining rubble was covered with eerie Miranda Flowers.

The Rain of Light kept following in Mia’s footsteps, occasionally even appearing in front of her, but a flower was a flower after all; the giant Miranda Flower could only bring down the Rain of Light in one area at a time.

If the light spots appeared in front of her, Mia would stop immediately, watching the light pour down onto the small Miranda Flowers ahead.

The small Miranda Flowers swayed in the Rain of Light, as if they were just experiencing a breeze.

However, Mia had absolutely no intention of testing the power of the Rain of Light.

After the light in front dissipated, the light spots would rise under her feet again… And then she just needed to run forward.

In the process, she torched those small Miranda Flowers.

This gave Mia a reminder: it’s best if moves don’t have a start-up animation.

“Awoo! Awoo!”

From the corner of this ‘corridor’, the calls of Spirit Wolves echoed.

“Lappland?” Mia saw with surprise the Spirit Wolves appearing behind the corner.

And Texas?

“Why are you here?!”

Where were Kalé and Patches?

What happened?

Before she could ask more, the start-up light spots for the Rain of Light appeared again.

Just as Mia was about to step forward, attempting to pass through the area of light spots, Wilden’s large hand suddenly grabbed Mia’s collar and dragged her backward.

“Hey, hey—”

A dark shadow suddenly descended from the sky and fell in front of Mia.

Splat.

Mia saw clearly the dark shadow that had fallen from the sky.

It was Patches!

Patches fell to the ground covered in blood, his limbs twisted into strange shapes, and dark red frothy blood continuously poured from his mouth.

“Patches?!!”

Clearly, having been knocked away for some reason and then falling to the ground, Patches was already in a state of barely breathing.

Even worse, Patches, who had flown in from the other side of the wall, had landed right in the area of the Prayer that the giant Miranda Flower was about to release.

The white light particles had filled to the limit; in the next moment, the Rain of Light would fall and pierce Patches through with a thousand arrows!

Although she didn’t know why Patches was here, nor why he was in such a miserable state, Mia had only one thought in her mind right now.

“Cannot let him die!”

Mia broke free from Wilden’s hand and lunged toward Patches, who was lying in the danger zone.

She had to pull Patches out before the Rain of Light!
