Elden Ring: Starting as Melina’s Sister

Ch. 99 Morgott is actually a tsundere, right?

  • Next Chapter

Morgott is an Omen.

In the eyes of the people of the Erdtree, an Omen covered in horns is undoubtedly the embodiment of a curse.

It represents being forsaken by grace, and also represents a sin born with them.

But this curse befell a demigod of the Golden Order.

How ironic.

Therefore, as the Margit, Morgott could absolutely not appear in public openly.

He could only use the name Margit, operating under the identity of Margit, the Fell Omen.

If possible, Morgott certainly wanted to step out into the open and declare that he was the Margit. He had tried it once, when he had just become the Margit, he summoned a commoner who admired him.

However, that person who grew up under the Erdtree, the moment he saw Morgott, fell into hysterical madness, wanting to kill Morgott, this Omen who defiled the Golden Order.

Since then, he had never revealed his true form in front of others.

And as for making the prosperity of the Golden Order reappear in The Lands Between.

Morgott held no hope for this.

“Let the glory of the Golden Order return to The Lands Between?” Morgott chuckled, not knowing if it was mockery or appreciation: “That is indeed a great ideal.”

Mia paused.

Whether it was mockery or appreciation, what she wanted to do would not change.

“Do you not want to see it? To see this land return to peace, to see people no longer suffering?” Mia asked Morgott.

At this moment, The Lands Between was maintaining a superficial peace.

The Shardbearers had not reached a ceasefire; rather, the war could no longer be sustained.

No matter how much effort he exerted, all Morgott could do was watch everything in this land slowly fade away.

He did not have the ability to restore peace to The Lands Between, nor did he have the ability to repair the elden ring; the only thing he could do was die together with the Golden Order.

In the name of the ‘last king’, Morgott.

But if…

If he could see such a Golden Order as Mia spoke of.

Morgott was also willing to hold hope for it.

He had never seen the prosperous age of the Golden Order; when he broke free from his imprisonment, the fuse of the Shattering had long since been lit.

At most, he had only heard about the outside world from his brother, Godwyn.

If not for Godwyn.

He, Morgott, would not have been willing to become the last king, guarding the Erdtree until the end arrived.

Mia saw Morgott’s silence.

“I think you also have the same thoughts as me, right?” Mia continued.

“All the Shardbearers are your and my blood kin. Why must we wage war against each other? Who started all of this? Does this war really have any meaning?”

Morgott suddenly spoke up: “That is because they are all disobedient traitors!”

“Then why did you appear here?!” Mia retorted loudly: “Is Godrick not also a traitor? Is he not also a holder of a great rune, a Shardbearer?”

“You have the full ability to kill him and seize his great rune, but you did not!”

“If they are all traitors as you say… then why don’t you go and personally reclaim the scattered great runes?”

“Your Night’s Cavalry, in Caelid, in Limgrave, in Liurnia… the places they can go, can you not go? Why not reclaim the great runes?”

Mia’s questions were like a machine gun, one after another, stabbing straight at Morgott.

The young girl believed that in Morgott’s heart, there must be a longing for family affection.

“Enough!”

Morgott’s Cursed Sword stabbed fiercely into the ground, his roar making the world go quiet.

His expression went through a brief transformation.

During the battle just now, the unease and resistance from the depths of his soul still affected him.

It was not that Morgott had never fought other demigods, but he had never felt such discomfort as he did today.

So much so that when Morgott felt the power belonging to the Erdtree on Mia, jealousy emerged in his heart.

Why was it not he who received the grace, but this person before him who had been unknown for countless years, suddenly popping up one day to tell him ‘I am your sister’?

This was simply too ridiculous.

At least for the moment, Morgott did not like the girl before him, and even felt some disgust.

But, if that was the peace the Erdtree desired.

Then, Morgott was willing to believe in the hope Mia spoke of.

After a silence, Morgott let out a slow, light breath.

“Let’s put an end to this daydreaming for now.”

“The reason I did not seize the great rune is entirely because the Erdtree rejected me.”

Subconsciously, he was probably thinking: whether or not the Erdtree rejected you, I don’t know yet.

In Morgott’s view, the grace upon Mia might be some form of hope.

“If you wish to coexist peacefully with the demigods, then so be it, but even if you can obtain a great rune, it does not mean the Erdtree will accept you.”

“Time will give you and me the answer.”

Saying words that sounded like a farewell, Morgott drew his cursed blade.

“If it is only because the Erdtree rejected you, then you could simply ignore the war; why must you still protect Godrick and hunt down Tarnished across The Lands Between?”

Mia persisted, questioning him relentlessly.

When Tarnished want to obtain a great rune, most choose to challenge the holder of the great rune directly.

Morgott and his Night’s Cavalry hunt Tarnished all over The Lands Between, yet they are still able to coexist peacefully with the local armies.

If anyone claimed they were a spring excursion group, Mia definitely wouldn’t believe it.

“…” Morgott kept a cold face and turned around without a moment’s hesitation.

He did not answer Mia with a single word.

But in the girl’s heart, she was smiling brilliantly.

She understood that this was Morgott’s way of protecting the things he held dear.

Thus, the probability of Morgott being a tsundere went up.

“Wait!”

She shouted at Morgott, who was turning away.

Mia’s body had now fully recovered.

Morgott paused, turned his head coldly, and glanced at her sideways.

“How about we make a pact?” Mia shouted at Morgott from afar, cupping her hands around her mouth like a megaphone.

“When I reach Leyndell, I will let you see a completely different Lands Between.”

“Are you willing to see that moment? My brother!”

Mia called out to Morgott’s back.

He couldn’t help but take a few more looks at the girl.

This form of address, “brother,” was something he had only ever heard from one person until now.

Even though Morgott was the son of Godfrey and Marika, the child of the first Elden Lord, and the elder to all demigods after Godwyn.

He had never heard anyone address him this way, other than his own brother, Mohg.

“…”

It seemed that this girl who had suddenly appeared, claiming to be his sister, was not as annoying as he had imagined.

Morgott walked a few steps forward, then suddenly dissolved into golden particles of light, vanishing with the wind.
