Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1598 - 1640: Awake in the Middle of the Night

Mabel Quinn and Kyle Kinston hurried to the Hospital. Edward Quinn was still unconscious due to the sedative he had been given. The doctor said, "Mr. Quinn’s condition was gradually improving, but for some reason this afternoon, while he was walking and resting downstairs, he suddenly became emotionally agitated and then vomited blood and fainted. Although he has been rescued and is not in any immediate danger, he still needs to keep his emotions stable afterwards, otherwise it will only make his condition more difficult to recover."

Upon hearing this, Mabel looked at her father in the hospital bed, unable to understand why her father, who was fine before, became "emotionally agitated" all of a sudden.

It was Kyle who suggested, "Why don’t we ask the caregiver who was with Dad at the time, to better understand what happened."

"Hmm." Mabel nodded and then called the caregiver.

The caregiver was cautious as she recounted what she had witnessed step by step. Of course, she didn’t know why Edward Quinn suddenly became emotional, only mentioning that Edward seemed to be looking for someone, persistently pushing people away and moving forward, saying something like "don’t leave."

"Don’t leave?" Mabel slightly furrowed her brow. "Did you hear my father telling anyone in particular not to leave?"

The caregiver recalled, "It seemed like he was saying ’yuan-yuan,’ those two syllables." The caregiver could only provide what she roughly heard, but didn’t know the exact characters.

But as soon as Mabel heard this, she was stunned. Because she knew what her father was saying—it was "Clover"! What her father was saying must be "Clover, don’t leave."

Could it be that her father saw her mother in the Hospital? Mabel looked at the unconscious Edward Quinn in shock.

If her father was moving forward because he saw her mother and was trying to find her, then the emotional agitation would make sense.

But is it possible? To meet her mother in the Hospital? After a 30-year separation? Over 30 years, a person’s appearance can change; can her father really recognize her mother at a glance?

Or did he see someone who resembled her mother when she was young and mistook her for his wife?

A series of speculations flashed through Mabel’s mind, but the person who could truly provide answers was still unconscious; all answers would have to wait until Edward Quinn woke up.

However, the doctor informed them that given the patient’s current level of unconsciousness, he likely wouldn’t wake up until tomorrow morning.

"I’ll take you back to the May residence later, I’ll stay here tonight to keep watch." Kyle suggested, "I’ll call you when Dad wakes up."

Mabel shook her head, "I want to stay at the Hospital with my father. This way I’ll feel more at ease. If I go home, it’ll make me feel uneasy."

Kyle thought for a moment and said, "That’s fine then." Edward Quinn’s room was a VIP room, which had a small single bed specifically for those staying overnight.

Kyle then suggested Mabel sleep on the small bed at night.

"What about you?" Mabel asked.

"I’ll make do on the sofa for the night," Kyle smiled.

But when Mabel woke up in the middle of the night wanting to use the restroom, she found Kyle was not in the room. Where was he? Mabel hesitated, then left the room and went to the nurse’s station nearest the room to ask the night-shift nurse.
