Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1606 - 1648: Smile

  • Next Chapter

This was the first time he saw his son voluntarily introduce himself to a child of similar age. Was it because Ivy just protected little Levi?

At this moment, Harper Kinston tilted her little head, seemingly digesting Levi Harris’s words. Then, after a brief moment, she said, "Little Levi brother?"

Levi’s face stiffened again, "Not brother!" He didn’t want to be her brother. For some reason, his first reaction was a dislike for being called ’brother.’

So the little girl corrected herself again, "Levi, then it’s Levi. From now on, you call me Nanny, and I’ll call you Levi, how about that?" As she spoke, she continued to flash a bright smile.

Levi pursed his small lips, looking at the silly smiling girl in front of him, but ultimately didn’t voice any rebuttal.

Seeing this, Daniel Harris seized the moment and said, "Little Levi, Nanny protected you just now. Shouldn’t you say thank you?"

Levi stayed silent for a while, then approached Harper’s side and, in a somewhat stiff voice, said, "Thank you."

The little girl giggled.

At this point, Mabel Quinn had finished checking her daughter. Daniel Harris asked, "Is Ivy okay?"

"It’s nothing, just a little redness and swelling, which should go down in a day or two. I’ll take her upstairs to apply some medicine now." Mabel Quinn said, holding her daughter’s hand as they headed towards the stairs.

Levi stood in place, watching Mabel Quinn and Harper Kinston walk up the stairs, their figures gradually disappearing from his view. Yet he remained unmoving until a hand gently patted his head, "What’s wrong, are you worried about Nanny?" Daniel Harris asked.

Only then did Levi turn around, sit back on the carpet, and continue to play with his Rubik’s Cube, as if to demonstrate through his actions that he wasn’t worried at all.

But from time to time, he would still lift his little head and glance towards the stairs, an action that made Daniel Harris smile. After all, his son was still too young; even if he tried to hide his feelings, he couldn’t hide them completely. This demeanor made it obvious to others that he was concerned about Ivy.

At the same time, seeing his son like this gave Daniel Harris some comfort, at least his son was no longer in a closed-off state, but started to care and take interest in others.

"Don’t worry, she’s fine." Daniel Harris softly said to his son, "But since Nanny protected you today, do you think you should protect her in the future?"

Levi suddenly lifted his head, looking determinedly at his father, biting his little lip with some firmness, "I... don’t want to protect anyone."

"Really?" Daniel Harris lightly responded, not offering any rebuttal. Watching his son’s expression at this moment, he found it quite amusing, at least something he hadn’t seen before.

Moreover, sometimes whether or not you protect someone is not spoken, but shown through actions.

At least, judging by his son’s expression, if Ivy were truly in danger, his son would likely protect her.

The servant tidied up the mess in the living room, and after about fifteen minutes, Mabel Quinn came downstairs with her daughter again. Little Harper seemed spirited, as if getting hit earlier was nothing at all.
