Chapter 1607 - 1649: Redemption?

She jogged to Levi’s side, suddenly grabbed Levi, and said to Mabel Quinn, "Mommy, medicine, apply medicine on Levi too."

Levi looked puzzled until Mabel Quinn said, "Levi isn’t hurt, no need to apply medicine. Just now, because you got hurt, Mommy applied medicine on you."

So... did she think he was hurt too, and wanted to apply medicine on him? Levi looked at the little girl holding onto him, and suddenly felt a feeling he couldn’t describe.

Harper Kinston blinked and, upon learning that Levi wasn’t injured, immediately looked happy.

Levi pressed his lips together and suddenly stretched out his hand, handing a Rubik’s Cube to the other, "You can play with it."

The little one widened her eyes, seemingly very surprised, but then happily wrapped her little arms around the other’s neck and warmly kissed his cheek twice, leaving saliva on his face.

"Ivy likes Levi," the little one announced with a smile, then took the Rubik’s Cube from Levi’s hand and started fiddling with it curiously.

Levi touched his cheek in a daze, still feeling her saliva there, but strangely, he didn’t find it dirty. He only felt that the places she kissed were so warm... so warm...

Daniel Harris watched this scene and suddenly had a feeling that, maybe, Ivy could open little Levi’s heart, and let him take the first step in truly interacting with others.

In this world, some people are others’ redemption, just like in the past, Mabel was his redemption, making him no longer indulge in self-pity, not feeling like just a useless person anymore. And now, will Ivy also become Levi’s redemption?

After leaving Mabel Quinn’s place, Daniel Harris got in the car with his son.

Levi, rare as it was, looked back a bit longingly at the small villa, and asked his father, "Can we come here again in the future?"

"Why, do you want to see Ivy again and play with her?" Daniel Harris asked in return.

Levi bit his lip slightly, although Ivy was clumsy, unable to solve a Rubik’s Cube back to its original state, needing him to teach her hand-by-hand, and also dragging him to play with those boring dolls and little dog and duck toys, but... for some reason, he felt playing with her was very comfortable, easy, and... happy.

Just her constant giggling made him feel quite good, something he never felt when playing alone before.

After a moment of silence, he said, "Yes." The voice was tender yet very certain.

Daniel Harris was surprised that his son would be so straightforward. Patting his son’s head, he said, "Since you want to, we’ll come to play with Ivy more often. I think Ivy will be very happy too."

Levi pursed his small lips, somewhat uncertainly, "Will she be happy?"

"Wasn’t she happy playing with you today?" Daniel Harris said, "You two are already friends, so of course she’d be happy if you went to play with her."

Friends... these two words were somewhat unfamiliar to Levi because he had never really had friends, always just by himself. Whether at the orphanage or after being brought back to the Harris Family by Dad, although others were around, it always felt like he was alone.
