Chapter 1616: The True Owner of the Badge

The car drove to the gates of the Landon Family estate. Daniel Harris pressed the doorbell and gave his name into the intercom; shortly thereafter, a servant came to open the door.

Daniel Harris once again followed the servant to the Landon Family library, where the elderly Mr. Landon was waiting. He looked at Daniel Harris and said, “You mentioned over the phone that there was something you wanted to clarify with me. What is it exactly? As far as I know, our Landon Family doesn’t have any business matters to discuss with Mr. Harris.”

Daniel Harris promptly took out a file folder and laid the photographs and blueprints from it onto the desk.

“Why don’t you take a look at this first,” suggested Daniel Harris.

Upon catching sight of the photographs and blueprints, the elderly Mr. Landon’s expression subtly changed. Picking them up, he examined them thoroughly. After quite a while, he lifted his head and asked, “What do you mean by showing me this?”

“I want to ask, is it true that Grace Yowell was mistaken for your daughter because of the badge shown in the photo?” Daniel Harris inquired. After returning to City J, he’d also investigated some matters concerning Mrs. Landon. Although there weren’t any photos of Mrs. Landon online, there were rumors that she was chronically ill, and had mental issues, thus, she had been leading a reclusive lifestyle for many years.

The elderly Mr. Landon narrowed his eyes slightly as if trying to discern the significance of Daniel Harris’s question.

“I’m not here to pry into the Landon Family’s privacy; it’s just that this badge originally belonged to a friend of mine,” continued Daniel Harris.

“Your friend?” The elderly Mr. Landon was visibly shocked.

Daniel Harris said, “You must have investigated the past concerning Grace Yowell and me. Once, she was just a rural girl who suddenly received sponsorship from the Harris Family, enabling her to attend prestigious schools and smoothly enter the entertainment industry, even obtaining the best resources. Do you think this was because I fell in love with her at first sight, and that’s why I sponsored her?”

The elderly Mr. Landon remained silent. At the time, he too found the relationship between Grace Yowell and Daniel Harris somewhat strange. Why would the prominent Daniel Harris, the eldest son of the Harris Family, get involved with a girl from such a background and go so far as to promote her? “Her name is Mabel Quinn, and she’s doing very well now. She’s married and has a lovely daughter. Her husband is Kyle Kinston of the Kinston Family in Falling City. I’m sure you are acquainted with Kyle, Mr. Landon,” Daniel Harris remarked. A person like Mr. Landon, active in the business world, couldn’t possibly be unaware of the name of the Kinston family’s sole authority.
