Chapter 1624: Bring Him Home

Levi naturally turned his gaze towards Mabel Quinn, clearly indicating he wanted to follow her.

Mr. and Mrs. Harris looked at Mabel Quinn with a troubled expression, unable to fathom how she had captured the little one’s heart, making him willing to go with her.

“Be good, go back to J City with your grandparents, don’t trouble others, okay?” Mr. Harris said somewhat sternly, reaching to pull his grandson.

But Levi dodged, letting Mr. Harris’s hand miss, “Daddy is here, not going back.” His young lips uttered those few words, and those eyes, similar to Daniel Harris’s, were determined.

Mr. Harris froze, looking at his grandson with a complex expression, realizing that the child was not as emotionless as he had thought; at least he had a genuine father-son bond with Daniel.

If Daniel were awake now and heard Levi’s words, he would probably smile with happiness.

After thinking it over, Mr. Harris said to Mabel Quinn, “Miss Quinn, this child usually has his own mind. He wants to stay in F City now, but my wife and I need to return to J City to find some expert doctors for Daniel. We may only be able to come back in a couple of days, and I wonder…”

“Then let Levi stay with me temporarily,” Mabel Quinn said. “My daughter can also be a companion for Levi. I have time now and can take good care of the two kids. Besides, Daniel is also here in F City, and I can take Levi to visit him every day.”

Mr. Harris felt grateful for Mabel Quinn’s willingness to take on this responsibility, “That’s truly very kind of you.”

“Sir, please don’t say that. Daniel… is my friend; he has helped me a lot. I’m just helping take care of his child; it’s no big deal.”

Mabel Quinn took Levi away first, and only then did Mrs. Harris say to Mr. Harris, “You know, Levi seems closer to Mabel, a stranger, than to us, his grandparents. It really…” which left her, as a grandmother, a bit envious.

“Such things depend on fate!” Mr. Harris gently patted his wife’s shoulder. “At least now, Levi truly has feelings for Daniel.”

Today, he was surprised that his grandson would say those words, wanting to stay because Daniel was in F City. It was those words that touched him, prompting him to awkwardly ask Mabel Quinn to take care of Levi.

Mrs. Harris sighed at his words, “It’s a shame Daniel didn’t hear that.”

“There’s plenty of time in the future. When Daniel wakes up, we can tell him ourselves,” Mr. Harris said.

Mrs. Harris nodded, “Yes, there’s plenty of time.”

Mabel Quinn brought Levi back to the villa. Amelia Foster had already returned to the villa with Harper Kinston. Harper was showing Amelia the pictures she drew today at kindergarten. Although they looked like children’s scribbles, Amelia joyfully watched and praised the little one.

Being praised made the little one naturally proud and happy.

Seeing the child in front of her, Amelia felt a sense of fulfillment. Now, working as a housekeeper here, even though she had to learn many things, every night when her son did his homework, she also did hers, watching video lessons and correspondence courses. This was somewhat challenging for her with only an elementary school education, but this challenge brought her joy.
