Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1632 - 1674: Direct Question
Only when Lady Landon’s emotions had stabilized somewhat did Mr. May leave the Landon Family residence and return to the May Family. But as soon as he got back to May Manor, a servant informed him, "Sir, Mr. Kinston has been here for quite a while, waiting for you in the living room."
Kyle Kinston?
Mr. May felt a jolt in his heart. Earlier at the funeral, the sudden appearance of Kyle Kinston and Mabel Quinn had stirred a vague sense of unease within him.
The Kinston Family, the Quinn Family, and the Landon Family had never had much interaction. For someone of Kyle Kinston’s stature to suddenly attend Old Master Landon’s funeral, using the excuse of "having heard much about him," seemed nothing more than a pretext to Mr. May.
But what was Kyle Kinston’s true purpose?
Mr. May walked into the living room to find a figure seated on the sofa, holding a cup of tea, exuding an air of elegance and nobility. Who else could it be but Kyle Kinston?
This was a man who could easily capture hearts, yet was also a formidable adversary... if one truly became his opponent!
Mr. May had heard various rumors about Kyle Kinston. However, all those rumors shared one common point—Kyle Kinston had become much more reserved after marriage, and his manner had grown noticeably "gentler," presumably due to his married life.
"Mr. Kinston, what brings you here so unexpectedly? I’ve kept you waiting," Mr. May smiled and approached.
"I came uninvited, so waiting is only fair," Kyle Kinston replied. "You must have just left the Landon Family, right? How is Lady Landon now?"
When Kyle Kinston mentioned Lady Landon, Mr. May’s brow twitched almost imperceptibly before he said, "She’s understandably heartbroken, but her emotions have stabilized a lot." He feared that the death of Old Master Landon could further aggravate Clover’s madness.
For years, Clover’s condition had been improving. But now... since Old Master Landon’s death, the servants at the Landon Family had frequently overheard Clover speaking nonsense.
"I heard Lady Landon and you have known each other for 30 years. She must be an important person to you," Kyle Kinston remarked.
Upon hearing this, Mr. May’s gaze darkened slightly, sensing an underlying message in Kyle’s words.
"Lady Landon, as my friend for so many years, is naturally important to me," Mr. May replied.
"Important enough to swap the surveillance footage from the hospital where she appeared?" Kyle Kinston raised an eyebrow as he looked at Mr. May.
Mr. May’s body suddenly stiffened, as if startled, and he abruptly stood from the sofa, staring intently at Kyle Kinston.
"What’s the matter? Are you surprised, Mr. May? Did you think swapping the surveillance footage would be flawless?" Kyle Kinston continued.
Mr. May pressed his lips together, his gaze heavy. After a long pause, he finally sat back down and looked at Kyle Kinston, saying, "Since you already know, are you here to ask for a reason?"
"Yes," Kyle Kinston said. "Speaking of which, I owe you gratitude for what you did for my family’s daughter. If Amelia Foster hadn’t been employed by the May Family at that time, my daughter might have suffered more back then." Moreover, perhaps she wouldn’t have found Ivy’s whereabouts so smoothly.
