Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1631: Always Remember to "Be Willing
Jeremiah May, however, did not leave with Mr. May but walked to Kyle Kinston and Mabel Quinn, his expression seeming somewhat hesitant and awkward. After a moment, he finally spoke, “How’s Ivy?”
Oddly enough, when the little girl was with the May Family, he found her quite annoying. She would always run to his room and disturb him. She was so clumsy and silly, only knowing how to play with dolls all day or wanting stories read to her.
He thought that once the little girl left, his life could return to its former peace.
But once she actually left, he couldn’t help but think of her from time to time, remembering how she would always be spinning around behind him. Even once when he was out with classmates and saw dolls for sale at a street stall, he unconsciously picked them up to look, causing his classmates to think he liked dolls.
“She’s doing quite well, now attending kindergarten,” Mabel said, recalling a couple of days ago when Levi Harris had just arrived at their home and, on the second day, Ivy was supposed to go to kindergarten. Levi insisted on going along, following all the way to the kindergarten, entering Ivy’s class, and even naturally sitting beside her.
Thus, she had to communicate with the kindergarten teachers a bit, letting Levi follow Ivy to kindergarten first, and as for the rest, it would have to be dealt with later.
“She’s attending kindergarten?” Jeremiah exclaimed in surprise. Given how silly she is, won’t she be bullied at kindergarten?
“Yes,” Mabel replied, “She’s already been in kindergarten for two days, and quite happy too. More social interactions can help with her illness.”
“Her illness…” Jeremiah pursed his lips, recalling the little girl’s previous convulsions and pain. Uncle Kyle had mentioned before that the girl’s illness flares up every Full Moon, and now… there’s only about a week until the Full Moon. “Is she in pain?”
“Not yet, but she will be when the Full Moon comes,” replied Kyle Kinston, not Mabel, “Will you still be willing to stay by her side and watch over her when she is in pain?”
As he spoke, Kyle’s gaze focused directly on the young man in front of him, as if trying to discern his true intentions on his face.
Jeremiah didn’t shy away from Kyle’s eyes. Despite their striking similarity to Ivy’s eyes, with Ivy, he felt like he was her entire world. But now, when confronting these eyes, he felt a sense of oppression, as if the surrounding air had tightened, as if a wrong answer would be a disaster from which he could never recover.
Yet for him, there was only one answer, no right or wrong, “I will.” He uttered these two words without hesitation.
Kyle Kinston smiled leisurely, and in that moment, the tense atmosphere dissipated suddenly, “If you will, then remember to ‘will’ for a lifetime.”
After saying this, Kyle Kinston took Mabel’s hand and left, leaving Jeremiah May standing alone, pondering the words Kyle had just said.
A lifetime… but a lifetime seems somewhat distant for him right now.
