Endless Debt

Chapter 1506 - 64: Beyond the Supreme_2

Most of the curled figures before him were Seekers of Glory, and despite their age, Holt couldn’t help but feel a weariness in the face of such numbers. He suspected that if tens of Seekers of Glory were to unleash their power simultaneously, the Ether summoned would directly crush reality and reach the Ethereal Realm.

"Ha ha ha," the Speaker chuckled twice, "You’re quite interesting, Holt; despite the tense atmosphere, we converse as if we’re friends."

The Speaker ceased his laughter and looked Holt straight in the eye, "You’re an utterly arrogant man, not considering us at all."

"I’m just a little proud," Holt replied as he tidied his disordered clothes, "and mindful of what’s called dignity."

"Are you from an Extraordinary Clan?"

"No, this has nothing to do with family tradition, just personal pursuit."

"Very well, human dignity, I understand," the Speaker redirected the topic to his debate, "I’m not interested in understanding your ideas, anyhow, even if I understood them, they wouldn’t sway my thoughts. So let me simply explain what I believe human civilization to be."

"Go on."

"I believe one person can embody the meaning of all humanity. Instead of resources spread across countless mediocre humans, why not create an ultimate human," the Speaker mused, "This single person would represent us all, the embodiment of human civilization’s essence."

The numb expression on the Speaker’s face took on a bizarre fervor, "Once, about a hundred years ago, I met a mortal unaware of Condensers, but with a yearning for the sky. He hoped Lords and Kings would cease fighting and use all resources to explore the sky, as compared to the sky’s end, everything else seemed insignificant."

"At that moment, my thoughts coincided with his: no more boring political viewpoints, interests, chaos that make life weary. Let us sacrifice most, or even all, to create an Ultimate Condenser who consumes all resources."

The Speaker expressed sentimentally.

"The God of Humanity."

Holt thought the Speaker was insane, "After all these clumsy reasons, you want to become a god?"

"No, no, no, haven’t you understood my intention yet? That god could be anyone, as long as he’s more powerful than us," the Speaker became incoherent with excitement, "If I’m stronger than everyone, then I’m the god; if you’re stronger, then you’ll enjoy it."

"Think about it, Holt, no more disputes, no more conflicts; only one, a supreme God of Humanity. Perhaps we could thus propel human evolution further, beyond the Material Realm, to reach the Ethereal Realm, or even another dimension."

The Speaker was extremely excited, this time directly breaking through the sluggish feeling Holt had set, and his withered hands grasped Holt’s shoulders.

"Imagine, that great future... perhaps we could be stronger than the Devil, becoming the supreme of the supreme."

"The supreme of the supreme?"

Holt shook his head helplessly and said disappointedly, "Sorry, I still can’t understand your insane thoughts."

"Oh..."

The Speaker was splashed with cold water, his expression somewhat dazed, he sobered up and somewhat awkwardly let go of Holt.

"So?" the Speaker hesitated.

"So let’s return to the main topic... this is an uprising."

As Holt spoke, the Alchemy Matrix patterns covered his body, unrestrained Ether surged wildly, its concentration suddenly elevating, reality bending and twisting.

"I know, but there’s no other choice..."

The Speaker looked distressed, a similarly intense Ether reaction rose from his deformed and decayed body.

In the previous moment, they were still discussing philosophical ideas and right versus wrong amicably; in the next moment, they fought each other as if mortal enemies with a deep-seated hate.

The two streams of Ether collided, triggering a series of Extraordinary phenomena, then, Siti also released Ether, another Seeker of Glory joined the fray.

"Are they not coming?"

Holt growled lowly, all his weapons had been confiscated, he could only swiftly throw heavy punches, relying on the Power of the Extreme Realm like a Heavy Hammer landing upon the Speaker’s Ether Barrier.

The Ether barrier collapsed and became chaotic, shattered under Holt’s heavy blows, the differential in their Alchemy Matrix truly was enormous.

"Them? It’s not the time to use them yet."

The Speaker was shaken back continuously but still had enough strength to lift his head in admiration towards the Crystal Beehive above, and those curled, seemingly slumbering Legislators.

Holt carried mountainous and oceanic-like offensive aura to approach again, faced with this fierce strike, the Speaker couldn’t help but marvel at their disparity in Alchemy Matrix. Then a series of maddening illusions burst forth between them.

Siti?

Holt glanced sideways at the woman, suspecting it was Siti’s Secret Energy, but Siti merely stood releasing Ether, without further manifestation of Secret Energy.

She disrupted Holt’s observation, only for a moment, but that was enough. Primal and pure power was unleashed from the Speaker’s body.

Secret Energy·Illusion Creation.

Dense composite metal walls were forged out of thin air, they forcibly blocked Holt’s heavy strikes, fragmenting, disintegrating into Ether dispersal, Holt continued pursuing, bolts of thick Thunder burst forth, followed by agonizing pain in his mind, as if attacked by the Secret Energy of the Void Spirit School.
