The deaths of his former colleagues flashed before his eyes, accompanied by intense pain, mercilessly twisting and tugging at Nesanel’s nerves. In those layers of harsh and desolate visions, familiar faces overlapped, their mouths agape as if whispering softly to Nesanel, or perhaps screaming at him.

"No..."

Nesanel seemed to be confiding in the hallucinations of faces, or perhaps talking to himself.

"No... no no no..."

Nesanel continuously denied, his once calm heart reignited with fervor, exhausted muscles and nerves tensed once more, and his unclenched fists gripped tightly again.

With all his might, he swung his fist, clashing the roaring Ether with the Thunder Dragon. Behind the dazzling orb, he drove away the Thunder in one stroke.

Nesanel couldn’t die here; he would crawl back to the Order Bureau if he had to. That was his only wish now, yet even this solitary wish, fate was unwilling to answer.

The Duke of Origin quickly advanced, his figure twisting into a blurred afterimage. Under the cover of the Spirit Duke, he immediately reached Nesanel.

Drawing the short sword from his waist, the sharp blade flickered with a cold gleam, followed by a layer of eerie mist covering the blade, as if even the sturdy metal body was vaporizing into smoke.

Normally, such an offensive was not a threat to Nesanel at all. He could effortlessly incinerate the attacker to ashes by calmly releasing heat.

But now, the hideous Soul Scars penetrated his Alchemy Matrix, not only restricting the transport efficiency of Ether but also significantly undermining the stability of the Alchemy Matrix. If Nesanel were to recklessly unleash his power like before, he was likely to lose control and explode like a genuine blazing sun.

Nesanel cautiously called upon the Ether, with Ethereal Amplification covering his right fist. A swift, powerful punch thrust directly at the Duke of Origin’s face, but just as it was about to hit, the Duke of Origin began to virtualize, his body dissipating into pure Ether, then reforming alongside Nesanel’s fist.

As a Seeker of Glory from the Origin School, relying on Aurora Power, the Duke of Origin could already briefly Etherealize himself freely to evade external attacks. With this evasion, he seized the gap in Nesanel’s attack, the vaporized blade slicing into Nesanel’s abdomen, lining up numerous small wounds.

A bit of mist delved into Nesanel’s wounds, creating more wounds within his Etherized body, as blood and manifested Ether mixed and gushed out.

Nesanel, eyes red with anger, unleashed an overwhelming surge of Ether. The scorching sun rose again, instantly reaching extreme high temperature, even evaporating the Ether of the Duke of Origin.

"How many times can you use such a move?"

Amid the rolling heatwaves, the Duke of Origin laughed loudly, from this brief encounter, he had already sensed Nesanel’s weakness and injuries.

However... Nesanel was indeed powerful. Even with serious injuries, he could still unleash such power.

Panting heavily, Nesanel glared firmly at the Duke of Origin. Suddenly, his fierce gaze softened, and in the next moment, a massive amount of Ether gathered on his fist, as if to deliver a punch that pierces the heavens and the earth.

But this punch was not directed at the Duke of Origin; instead, it was aimed at the Ethereal Furnace behind Nesanel.

In his last moment, Nesanel accepted the situation, reconciling with himself, and he intended to make the most efficient decision with his remaining strength.

Pierce through the Ethereal Furnace, destroy the Aurora Path, and plunge the Land of Secrets into paralysis.

As the earthshaking power rose from the ground, the Duke of Origin also realized Nesanel’s intention, commanding all his Ether to rampage within the Alchemy Matrix. Even as countless cracks formed from the collision, he refused to stop.

Silence and Prohibition.

An absolute Ether vacuum enveloped Nesanel, preventing him from drawing Ether from the outside and suppressing the agitation within his body, continuously stripping and draining the Ether he had gathered.

The Spirit Duke was also desperately releasing Secret Energy, repeatedly striking at Nesanel’s mind. At this rate, without the Duke of Origin’s need to pierce Nesanel’s heart, the Spirit Duke could scorch Nesanel’s brain himself.

The Duke of Origin’s form Etherealized and dissolved, then regrouped in front of Nesanel, as the vaporized short sword thrust forward, piercing through Nesanel’s fist, breaking through his palm.

Nesanel said nothing, only to raise another fist. But this time, the fist could not fall, as the Spirit Duke shattered Nesanel’s sensory system, blood uncontrollably seeping from his nose, flooding him with a wave of suffocating pain.

The Duke of Origin grasped a bundle of Ether lightning, ready to inject it along Nesanel’s chest wound, intent on detonating him completely.

A burst of unfamiliar Ether abruptly rose on the battlefield.

The Duke of Origin cautiously determined the intruder’s position, but his Ethereal Perception told him the adversary was right in front of him.

In an instant, the shadow on the ground wriggled and rose, swallowing Nesanel whole in one move, retreating to a safe location within a few flashes, then spat Nesanel out.

Nesanel was in a daze, unsure of the battle’s progression. He turned his head to look at the figure emerging from the shadows, only to meet a pair of frighteningly scarlet eyes.

Nesanel instinctively raised his fist, at which point another voice stopped him.

"Wait! Don’t attack! It’s me!"

Emerged from the shadows was Palmer, who grabbed hold of Nesanel’s arm, shouting hoarsely.

"Palmer?"

Nesanel genuinely felt bewildered this time. At such a serious life-and-death moment, to have it undercut by Palmer’s nearly drake-like tone seemed absurd.

"Allow me to introduce: this is Olivia Villeries, according to the Dawn Oath, she is a legitimate member of the Night Race."

Never in Palmer’s life did he imagine he would vouch for a Night Race, nor did he foresee himself uttering the odd phrase ’legitimate Night Race.’

Olivia, slightly nervous, greeted Nesanel, "Hel... Hello."

Nesanel nodded blankly, for the first time appearing at a loss, fortunate to regain composure in just a few seconds.

"You shouldn’t have come to rescue me."

Nesanel shook his head. A Defender and a Negative Power User, their added strength was not enough to change the battle, nor was there a need to save him. They should have bypassed him directly to support Bologue.

"The All Secrets Order is the strong support of the Order Bureau, so rescuing you, Deputy Director, is our duty."

A new voice arose, uttering words that had Nesanel feeling amused.

"Strong support? You all..."

Nesanel was about to sneer in scorn, but saw two figures enter the battlefield one after another, and judging by their attitude, these two were somehow on his side.

"Deputy Director, let me emphasize again," spoke the Duke of Reverie, Ossana, "This is not an uprising, but an internal battle within the All Secrets Order."

"My father and I remain loyal allies of the Order Bureau."

Behind Ossana, the always-concealed Order Officer, Fabien, nodded lightly, agreeing with Ossana’s words.

Ossana asked, "Do you acknowledge this?"

The situation became clearer, and even if Nesanel were dull, he understood that from Ossana’s standpoint, this was indeed an internal conflict within the All Secrets Order.

The House of Reverie was leveraging the Order Bureau’s power to vie for control of the All Secrets Order, while the Order Bureau needed the presence of the House of Reverie to extinguish extreme factions like the Condensers’ supremacy.

Nesanel took a deep breath, nodding to her, "I acknowledge."

Ossana’s tense face showed a smile, and in the next moment, an exuberant Ether reaction surged from both her and Fabien, all pouring towards the Duke of Origin and the Spirit Duke.
