Chapter 417: Gigantic Space Worm

Overseer John looked at Caelus and Sylvia with a serious expression.

"Star Queen, Star King. If you intend to traverse space yourselves, I think you should use a spaceship."

Caelus raised an eyebrow.

"Why?"

"The space here contains many unusual beings, including beasts and worms that roam the Tier 2 Expanse. Their strength can range from Overlord to Origin Lord."

John’s voice became heavier.

"There is even a saying that Lesser God-level Space Worms roam the deeper regions of this expanse. That is why most players rely on the interplanetary teleportation system established by the Origin Network."

Caelus and Sylvia exchanged a glance.

"Lesser Gods, huh?"

Caelus became genuinely interested.

"How strong are they?"

"To put it into perspective, an Origin Lord with 10,000 Combat Score is equivalent to a Lesser God in terms of raw Combat Score. Even then, an Origin Lord cannot hurt a Lesser God regardless of how high their Combat Score becomes."

"Even if they had 50,000 Combat Score?"

John shook his head firmly.

"You still wouldn’t be able to hurt a Lesser God. They are transcendental beings who have reforged their bodies to a higher level. No matter what skills or powers you possess, you will never be able to attack a Lesser God through ordinary means."

"Oh."

Caelus became absent-minded at the explanation.

He privately hoped they would not encounter one during their journey. However, if they did, he simply intended to cut the concept that prevented him from attacking them and kill them anyway.

John continued his warning.

"Space Worms are extremely dangerous. A spaceship can conceal your presence and help you avoid detection."

Caelus smiled.

"Don’t worry. We will be fine."

John could only stare at them in confusion as Caelus took Sylvia’s hand.

WHOOSH!

The two shot directly into space.

The moment they left the atmosphere, both of them stopped and stared at the endless starry sky. Countless stars stretched across the infinite darkness, their light creating a tapestry of colors that seemed to extend forever.

Sylvia’s eyes widened at the sight.

"How vast..."

They also realized that they felt far freer in space.

The Star King Planet was under the Origin Network’s jurisdiction, which meant their power was suppressed while inside the planet to prevent them from accidentally destroying it. An Origin Lord was already capable of destroying dwarf stars, so powerful beings were naturally restricted within material worlds.

In the starry sky, however, they could finally use their strength without those restrictions.

That explained why most Origin Lords preferred remaining in space instead of descending into material worlds.

Sylvia floated closer to Caelus and wrapped her arms around his.

"We have come far, Hubby."

Her smile carried genuine emotion as she reflected on their journey from insignificant players of the Abyss to beings capable of overlooking the Tier 2 Expanse.

Caelus nodded.

"Yeah. We really have."

At that moment, a system notification appeared before both of them.

[Ding! You’ve enabled Spatial Flight for your transformation.]

[You can cross vast distances in a short amount of time.]

Information about Spatial Flight immediately entered their minds.

It was a special ability that could only be properly utilized in space. Rather than simply increasing their physical speed, it allowed them to manipulate and curve space around themselves. This let them cross enormous distances in a short amount of time.

Caelus grinned.

"Let’s go, Sylvia."

Sylvia nodded eagerly.

Caelus transformed into his complete dragon form.

Blue scales spread across his entire body as his size expanded dramatically. His wings unfurled, stretching wide enough to cast shadows across asteroids. His horns grew longer and sharper, and his eyes blazed with draconic fury.

Sylvia mounted his back without hesitation.

Caelus realized that he needed to properly train his full dragon transformation since he had never had enough time to master it. He considered using the God of Combat’s Training Zone that Sylvia possessed later.

He then opened the system interface and set their destination as the Heavenly Spirit World.

To his surprise, the destination was only one light year away.

Without Spatial Flight, they would have needed to use the Origin Network’s teleportation system. However, Caelus would rather experience traveling through space himself.

The Origin Network GPS also warned them about dangerous creatures in the starry sky.

Neither of them cared.

"Sylvia, hold tight. I’m going to test out my full speed now."

Sylvia tightened her grip on his scales.

"Ready."

Caelus accelerated.

A speed interface appeared beside him through the Origin Network’s GPS.

[You are entering Light Speed.]

The stars began stretching into streaks as Caelus rapidly accelerated. Space itself began curving around his dragon form, bending and warping as they pushed beyond conventional limits.

[Ding! Your speed has exceeded 100x the speed of light.]

[You will arrive at your destination in 3 days.]

Caelus became intrigued by the mechanics.

He already knew that his body could potentially travel at light speed, but moving at 100 times the speed of light should normally destroy a physical body. Spatial Flight must therefore be doing something fundamentally different.

It was bending space around them rather than simply forcing their bodies to accelerate conventionally.

Caelus suspected that a Mystic Code was responsible for this effect. Since Mystic Codes formed the foundation of many skills and supernatural abilities, he wondered whether he could eventually extract the Mystic Code behind Spatial Flight and reproduce the ability without relying on his transformation.

For now, however, he simply enjoyed the sight of stars and planets constantly disappearing behind them as they traveled through the void.

Sylvia laughed with genuine delight as they soared through the cosmos.

"This is amazing!"

The endless expanse of space stretched around them, filled with nebulae, distant galaxies, and celestial phenomena that most people would never witness in their entire lives.

Caelus found himself enjoying the experience as well.

Hours passed as they continued their journey.

Halfway through, the GPS suddenly blared a warning.

[Ding! A Space Worm has noticed your existence in the endless expanse of space.]

Caelus immediately slowed down.

CRACK!

Space itself cracked open ahead of them.

A gigantic creature emerged from the fractured void. Its body was so enormous that it spanned a region comparable to a planet. Strange armor covered its surface, and its gigantic mouth looked capable of swallowing entire moons.

Caelus stared at it in disbelief.

"Holy shit. What the hell is this?"
