Chapter 420: Divine God Rank And Importance of Faith

Caelus raised his hand toward the barrier.

Origin Lock.

CRACK!

The golden barrier surrounding the Celestial Geeses shattered like glass. The ancient inscriptions that had protected them dissolved into nothing, leaving them completely exposed.

Before they could react, Caelus extended his authority further.

Origin Lock spread across the Celestial Geeses simultaneously.

Their connection to their mana was severed instantly. The spiritual energy that had been circulating through their bodies suddenly became inaccessible, as though an invisible wall had been placed between them and their own power.

"W-What did you do?!"

The first Celestial Goose frantically tried to activate a skill.

Nothing happened.

"My mana! I can’t access my mana!"

The second Celestial Goose attempted to fly away.

His wings moved, but no spiritual energy enhanced his movements. He barely lifted off the ground before collapsing back down.

"What kind of ability is this?!"

Caelus walked toward them calmly.

Behind him, Sylvia began her own work.

Dark energy spread across the battlefield as she moved between the fallen Yaoguai. Shadows rose from the corpses, twisting and coiling before taking humanoid shapes.

One after another, the defeated Origin Lords became her summons.

The Fox Yaoguai she had crushed earlier now stood obediently beside her. The Bull Yaoguai with the shattered earthen armor rose as a shadow servant. The Serpent Yaoguai, the Crane Yaoguai, the Tiger Yaoguai, and dozens of others joined her growing army.

Sylvia smiled as she examined her new collection.

"So many Origin Lords. They will come in handy."

The two Celestial Geese watched in horror as their fallen comrades were transformed into undead servants.

"T-This power is...."

Caelus stopped directly in front of them.

"Now then."

His voice was calm.

"You’re going to tell me everything I want to know."

The first Celestial Goose tried to appear defiant despite his terror.

"We will never betray the Heavenly Faction! Do your worst!"

Caelus tilted his head.

"If you insist."

He grabbed the goose’s wing.

CRACK!

The wing was torn off in a single motion.

The Celestial Goose screamed in agony. Blood and feathers scattered across the ground as he collapsed, clutching the stump where his wing had been.

"AAAAAAHHHHH!"

Caelus held the severed wing casually.

"I can do this all day. There are plenty of parts left to remove."

He looked toward the second Celestial Goose.

"Would you like to go next?"

The second Celestial Goose’s feathers were trembling violently.

He looked at his companion writhing on the ground. He looked at the severed wing in Caelus’s hand. He looked at the army of shadow servants standing behind Sylvia.

His resolve shattered.

"W-We will talk!"

His voice cracked with desperation.

"P-Please don’t kill us! We will tell you everything!"

Caelus dropped the severed wing.

"Good choice."

He crossed his arms and waited.

"Begin speaking."

The second Celestial Goose took several shaky breaths before answering.

"The one who ordered us to obtain the inheritance is called the Divine Lord of the Celestial Geese. He is a messenger who sends messages down to the Tier 2 World from the God Domain occasionally."

Caelus’s eyes narrowed.

"What rank is he?"

"He is a Divine God."

The Celestial Goose’s voice trembled.

"Divine God is a rank above Lesser God."

Caelus fell silent.

A Divine God.

That was significantly more powerful than he had anticipated. The Overseer had already explained that Origin Lords could not harm Lesser Gods regardless of their Combat Score. A Divine God would be even further beyond his current reach.

He studied the Celestial Goose carefully.

"Are you sure I can trust you with this?"

The Celestial Goose nodded frantically.

"Yes! Yes! We won’t lie! We have no reason to lie! Please, we just want to live!"

Caelus considered his words for a moment.

Then he continued his questioning.

"The Corpse Realm."

The Celestial Goose’s body stiffened at the words.

"You use it to give the people here the pills, right?"

Both Celestial Geese immediately began sweating.

The Corpse Realm was where they captured people and used a special heavenly skill to convert them into pills. Those pills were then distributed throughout their faction, granting power to those who consumed them at the cost of innocent lives.

Caelus smiled coldly.

"I won’t show mercy to people like that."

[Talent Activated: Gravity Domain.]

The air around the two Celestial Geese became impossibly heavy.

"W-Wait! We told you everything! You promised—"

CRUSH.

Their bodies crumpled under the overwhelming gravitational force. Bones snapped. Organs ruptured. Within seconds, both Celestial Geese were reduced to broken masses on the ground.

Caelus deactivated his Gravity Domain.

He extended his hand toward the corpses.

[Ding! You’ve obtained the Trait: Truth Seeking Eyes (Divine, 8-Star)]

Caelus examined the rewards briefly.

Celestial Barrier would allow him to create defensive barriers similar to the one the Celestial Geese had used. Truth Seeking Eyes granted the ability to perceive lies and hidden truths. Heavenly Insight enhanced his perception of observing God Related Things.

All useful additions.

He turned toward Sylvia.

She had finished summoning shadows from the fallen Yaoguai. Dozens of Origin Lord summons now stood behind her, waiting for commands.

"Looks like our job here is done."

Sylvia walked toward him with a satisfied smile.

"We need to prepare to ascend to the God Domain. That is where the answers lie."

Sylvia nodded.

"It’s finally time."

Caelus looked up at the sky above the Heavenly Spirit World.

It was finally time to spread the Chaos Faction.

From what he understood, Faith Power was important for the God Ranks. The higher-ranked Gods drew their strength from the worship and belief of their followers. Without sufficient Faith Power, even reaching the God Domain would be meaningless.

He needed to establish a proper foundation before ascending.

The Genesis Kingdom had grown significantly, but it was not enough. He needed more followers, more believers, more people who would contribute their faith to the Chaos Faction.

Caelus smiled.

He would make sure there were no mishaps.
