Chapter 419: Then the Heavenly Nation Attacked

hen, hurried footsteps suddenly echoed from the corridor outside the chamber the two gooses were in.

Both Celestial Geese turned toward the entrance as a Wolf Yaoguai burst through the doors.

"Celestial Elders! We are under attack!"

The first Celestial Goose frowned.

"Under attack? By whom?"

Before the Wolf Yaoguai could answer, the wall behind him exploded.

BOOM!

Debris scattered across the chamber as two figures casually walked through the destroyed wall. Caelus stepped forward first, brushing dust from his shoulder. Sylvia followed beside him with an amused smile.

The Wolf Yaoguai spun around and immediately lunged toward the intruders.

"How dare you invade our sacred territory!"

His claws extended as Mana surged around his body. He was an Origin Lord, and his attack carried enough force to shatter planets with ease.

Caelus caught his wrist without looking.

CRACK.

The Wolf Yaoguai’s arm bent at an unnatural angle.

Before he could scream, Caelus casually threw him across the chamber. The Wolf Yaoguai crashed through several pillars before slamming into the far wall, unconscious before he even landed.

The two Celestial Geese stared in shock.

"Who are you?!"

The first goose’s feathers ruffled with agitation.

"How did you enter this place?! What do you want?!"

Caelus ignored most of their questions.

He walked toward them with a relaxed expression, stepping over the debris scattered across the floor.

"Who ordered you people to enter the Hidden Ruin and obtain its inheritance?"

Both Celestial Geese immediately fell silent at the question.

Their eyes met briefly before the first one spoke.

"We have absolutely no idea what you are talking about."

Caelus stopped walking after hearing the reply.

"That’s a lie."

His voice remained calm, but his eyes became cold.

"I have no intention of playing along with you. Either you tell me who gave the order, or I beat the information out of you."

The second Celestial Goose puffed out his chest.

"You dare threaten us within our own territory? Do you have any idea who we are?"

Caelus took another step forward.

Before he could reach them, both Celestial Geese suddenly vanished.

WHOOSH!

Their voices echoed throughout the surrounding area.

"Stupid humans!"

The first goose’s mocking laughter filled the chamber.

"You are incredibly naive if you believe two people can simply enter our territory and stop our plans!"

A powerful defensive barrier manifested around their new location, shimmering with golden light and ancient inscriptions. The barrier was strong enough to repel attacks from multiple Origin Lords simultaneously.

At the same time, the walls around Caelus and Sylvia began trembling.

Figures emerged from every direction.

Celestial Geese descended from the sky, their feathers glowing with immense power. Wolf Yaoguai charged through the corridors, their spiritual pressure filling the air. Tiger Yaoguai, Serpent Yaoguai, Fox Yaoguai, and countless other powerful beings appeared throughout the surrounding area.

"Intruders!"

"How dare they invade our sacred world!"

"Kill them! Kill them both!"

"These humans will pay for their disrespect!"

"They will become examples for anyone who dares challenge the Heavenly Faction!"

The confrontation rapidly escalated.

RUMBLE!

The entire world began trembling as enormous quantities of ancient weapons rose into the sky. The roof above Caelus and Sylvia shattered completely, destroyed by the ascending armaments. The surrounding structures collapsed as well, opening the battlefield above them.

Hundreds of mythical weapons filled the sky.

Flying swords covered in ancient inscriptions hummed with killing intent. Jade war spears surrounded by flames burned bright enough to illuminate the clouds. Golden dragon-headed halberds roared as though alive. Crescent moon blades spun through the air in deadly arcs.

Enormous heavenly sabers descended from above. Bronze swords arranged themselves into complex formations. Crimson tasselled spears trailed ribbons of blood-red energy. Chained meteor hammers swung in wide circles, generating devastating gravitational pulls.

Vajra-like divine weapons radiated Buddhist power despite it belonging to the Heavenly Faction. Ancient battle axes carved with mountain-splitting inscriptions hovered menacingly. Floating sword formations containing dozens of blades moved as single units.

Giant spiritual bells rose above the battlefield, their surfaces inscribed with sound-amplifying arrays. Pagoda-shaped artifacts spun slowly, ready to trap enemies within their dimensional interiors. Heavenly seals carved with the authority of ancient celestial courts prepared to descend with crushing force.

The scale was overwhelming and more importantly, most of these were artifacts.

This was the true extend of the Heavenly Faction at a planetary scale.

"Attack!"

The command echoed across the battlefield.

Hundreds of weapons and numerous Yaoguai charged Caelus and Sylvia simultaneously from every direction.

The immortal sword formation struck first.

Thirty-six flying swords arranged themselves into a spinning wheel and descended toward Caelus. Each sword contained enough spiritual energy to pierce through Origin Lord defenses.

Caelus smiled.

He disappeared.

WHOOSH!

The Yaoguai struggled to follow his movement. One moment he stood at the center of the battlefield, and the next he was already inside the sword formation.

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!

Three swords shattered in rapid succession.

Caelus moved through the formation like a ghost, destroying the weapons one after another. His fists connected with blade after blade, and each impact reduced an ancient weapon to fragments.

He then appeared beside the jade war spears and grabbed one mid-flight. The flames surrounding it tried to burn him, but his Origin Lord body simply absorbed the heat.

SNAP!

He broke the spear over his knee and threw the pieces into an approaching Tiger Yaoguai.

The Tiger Yaoguai roared and transformed into his battle form. His body expanded as golden stripes covered his fur, and his claws grew long enough to tear through spatial barriers.

"Die, human!"

He lunged toward Caelus with killing intent.

Caelus caught his claw and pulled him forward.

SLAM!

The Tiger Yaoguai’s face met Caelus’s fist.

The impact sent shockwaves across the battlefield. The Tiger Yaoguai flew backward, crashing through several other Yaoguai before disappearing into the distance.

More weapons descended.

The golden dragon-headed halberds attacked in coordinated thrusts, their dragon heads breathing spiritual fire as they approached. The crescent moon blades spun toward Caelus from multiple angles, their edges sharp enough to cut through dimensions.

Caelus moved between them.

He grabbed a dragon-headed halberd and used it to deflect three crescent moon blades simultaneously. The impact created sparks of spiritual energy that scattered across the battlefield.

Then he threw the halberd directly into the approaching heavenly sabers.

BOOM!

The collision destroyed both weapons and created an explosion of golden light.

Caelus continued moving.

He shattered bronze ritual swords with his bare hands. He caught crimson tasselled spears and redirected them into other Yaoguai. He avoided chained meteor hammers by millimeters before grabbing their chains and swinging them into sword formations.

Weapon after weapon fell.

Formation after formation collapsed.

The Celestial Geese watched from behind their barrier with growing disbelief.

Caelus looked toward them and responded to their earlier mockery.

"And you are naive to think I didn’t think this would happen."

He smiled before disappearing again.

CRASH!

Another wave of weapons shattered.

Meanwhile, Sylvia was having the time of her life.

Three Fox Yaoguai surrounded her, their tails generating illusions that filled the battlefield. They were confident in their techniques, certain that no other being than the celestials could see through their combined illusions.

Sylvia however walked directly toward the real one.

"Your illusions are pretty."

She grabbed the Fox Yaoguai by the throat.

"But I can see through them."

SLAM!

The Fox Yaoguai hit the ground hard enough to create a crater.

The other two Fox Yaoguai immediately dropped their illusions and attacked directly. Their claws extended as they lunged from opposite directions.

Sylvia caught both of their wrists.

"Nice try."

She pulled them together.

CRACK!

Their heads collided, and both Fox Yaoguai collapsed unconscious.

A Serpent Yaoguai coiled around her from behind.

"I have you now, human! My coils can crush Origin Lords!"

Sylvia looked over her shoulder.

"Can they?"

Dark energy erupted from her body.

The Serpent Yaoguai screamed as death energy invaded his body. His coils loosened involuntarily, and Sylvia casually stepped out of his grip.

"Apparently not."

She kicked him across the battlefield.

More Yaoguai charged toward her.

A Bull Yaoguai lowered his horns and stampeded forward. His body was surrounded by earthen armor, and his charge carried enough force to level cities.

"Earth Shattering Stampede!"

Sylvia tilted her head with a cold smile on her face.

"Cute name."

She met his charge head-on.

BOOM!

The collision created a shockwave that flattened everything within a hundred meters.

When the dust cleared, Sylvia stood exactly where she had been. The Bull Yaoguai was embedded in the ground behind her, his earthen armor completely shattered.

A Crane Yaoguai descended from above.

"Heavenly Wind Dance!"

Razor-sharp wind blades descended toward Sylvia in a beautiful spiraling pattern.

Sylvia watched them approach with genuine appreciation.

"That actually looks nice."

She raised her hand.

Dark energy consumed the wind blades before they could reach her.

"But it’s not very effective."

The Crane Yaoguai’s eyes widened.

Sylvia’s figure then blurred and appeared directly in front of him.

"My turn."

SLAM!

The Crane Yaoguai plummeted toward the ground.

Caelus and Sylvia occasionally crossed paths during the battle.

"Having fun?"

Caelus asked as he destroyed another sword formation.

"Very much!"

Sylvia responded while throwing a Wolf Yaoguai into a group of Celestial Geese.

They competed over opponents without ever appearing genuinely threatened.

The Yaoguai gradually realized that throwing more Origin Lords, weapons, formations, and artifacts at the two humans was accomplishing nothing.

"Combine your attacks!"

"Use the Grand Formation Artifact!"

"Activate the Heavenly Bell Array!"

The giant spiritual bells began ringing simultaneously.

GONG! GONG! GONG!

Destructive sound waves swept across the battlefield. The vibrations were strong enough to shatter spiritual foundations and rupture internal organs.

Caelus and Sylvia continued fighting as though nothing happened.

"Is that supposed to hurt?"

Caelus asked while destroying another bell.

"I think it’s supposed to be scary."

Sylvia replied while kicking a Celestial Goose through three pagoda artifacts.

The pagoda-shaped artifacts attempted to trap them within their dimensional interiors.

Caelus punched through the dimensional barriers.

Sylvia simply walked out of hers.

The heavenly seals descended with crushing force.

Caelus caught one and threw it back.

It crushed four Yaoguai on the way up.

The battlefield became heavily damaged.

Shattered mythical weapons covered the ground. Defeated Yaoguai lay scattered throughout the area. Craters and destroyed structures surrounded them in every direction.

Eventually, every attacking Yaoguai was defeated.

Caelus and Sylvia stood at the center of the devastation.

Both of them remained largely unharmed and composed despite the enormous battle they had just fought.

Silence filled the battlefield.

They turned their attention back toward the original two Celestial Geese.

The Celestial Geese, who had previously been arrogant and confident behind their defenses, were now completely terrified. Their feathers trembled as they stared at the destruction surrounding them.

Their earlier arrogance had disappeared.

They finally realized that Caelus and Sylvia were never trapped with them.

They had been trapped with Caelus and Sylvia.

Caelus approached the frightened Celestial Geese with a relaxed attitude.

He stopped just outside their barrier and smiled.

"Alright, it’s now time for negotiation."
