Endless Leveling Done Right!
Chapter 784: The Final Countdown [Part 1]
The elven army set up camp ten miles away from the ant nest.
Although Charles had already been neutralized, there was still a chance that his ant army would come to save him.
During this time, the elven army was still on high alert since Alex wasn’t taking any chances.
With that said, Charles was placed inside a tent located at the center of the camp.
Alex, Renard, and Vaan’s tents surrounded it from three sides to better ensure that they could react at the first sign of trouble.
As for Nessia, she would be staying with Charles according to her own request. Her reason was that she would try to call him out and bring back her lover that was now under the influence of the Synchronization Rate.
Alex reluctantly agreed to her request on the condition that she would not remove the shackles that bound her lover.
Fortunately, she agreed to this condition.
Though, truth be told, everyone was hoping that she would succeed.
If there was one person who could bring Charles back from the abyss, it would be no one else but the lady who loved him very much.
Inside Alex’s tent...
Alex was pacing back and forth with his hands behind his back. For some reason, he was feeling restless.
He didn’t know if this was due to Renard or something else entirely.
But whatever it was, it was making Alex unable to stay still.
"Calm down, Alex," Evangeline said with a smile, forcing her lover to sit down. "Fran, come sit on Alex’s lap. Let him hug you so he can calm down a bit."
Fran blushed in response, but she still moved to sit on Alex’s lap. She then rested her head on his chest, prompting him to wrap his arms around her body and hug her tenderly.
As if by magic, the young man’s anxiety slowly began to disappear.
"This is so calming," Alex muttered before planting a kiss on Fran’s cheek. She returned his kiss with a kiss of her own before hugging him back.
"Feeling better?" Evangeline asked in a teasing tone.
"Much better," Alex replied.
Although they weren’t saying anything, Alex’s lovers knew the pressure that was on his shoulders.
After all, their lover was currently King Aetherion.
The famous Elven King who had made the Kingdom of Faelarun prosper during his reign.
With his identity, he could command the elven army and possess powers that had been strong enough to defeat the previous Demon Lord.
Despite the famous figure’s incredible strength, Alex still instinctively did his best to avoid letting the Synchronization Rate take over him.
For one, he didn’t like not being in control of his own body. Not to mention, King Aetherion was a womanizer.
In other words, how could he possibly allow the Elven King to touch his lovers?
That was Alex’s bottom line, so he was always on guard with his senses to prevent any accidents from happening.
"Is there something else on your mind, Alex?" Fran asked.
She looked so cute and adorable that Alex answered her question honestly.
"I’m curious about what’s happening inside Charles’ tent," Alex replied. "I’m worried about Nessia."
"Is that so?" Latifa commented from the side. "Then how about I put your mind at ease?"
At those words, Latifa raised her hand, and soon, a small purple orb appeared on top of it.
A moment later, Nessia’s voice spread inside Alex’s tent.
"Hah... Nghhh... Mmm... Hah... so hard... so good... Charles... I love you."
The moment they heard her, Alex and everyone inside the room froze in place. Even Latifa, who had initiated her eavesdropping magic, turned beet red from embarrassment.
Nessia told everyone that she would do her best to bring Charles back to them.
And from what they were hearing right now, she was indeed doing her best to make it happen.
Latifa immediately snuffed out the small purple orb in her hand.
The room then immediately quieted down, leaving only an awkward silence.
A few minutes later, Alex was finally unable to hold back his curiosity.
"Did Nessia succeed in bringing Charles back?" Alex asked, doing his best to look calm.
However, he was far from being calm.
Unfortunately, none of his lovers had the answer he was looking for.
After all, what they heard earlier wasn’t enough proof that Nessia had succeeded.
"Let’s just... trust Nessia for now." Evangeline forced a smile.
"Yeah, let’s do that," Fran replied, her cheeks red as an apple. Her hand slowly caressed Alex’s chest as if she was trying to tell him something.
She was blushing not only due to the words she heard earlier, but also because something hard was starting to poke her backside.
Alex wanted to give himself a good slap. His body was reacting in ways that made him feel betrayed.
In the end, he chose to blame King Aetherion’s body for reacting in that manner.
Yes. He was in denial.
But of course, Alex would not admit it no matter what!
Somewhere far from the elven camp, in a place that no one could see, Reverse Vaan was panting for breath.
Himea and Efa had escaped successfully, leaving Reverse Vaan behind.
They had also reached their limit after fighting for days without stopping. Both had given it their all, so they decided to retreat while they still could.
"Damn it... just who are those two insufferable b*tches?" Reverse Vaan didn’t hold back from cursing the two annoying pests that had delayed his mission for many days. "Alex is probably very angry right now."
The mere thought of Reverse Alex was enough for him to subconsciously shudder. After all, that person had never been patient and was also quick to punish those who fell short of his expectations.
With that, Reverse Vaan knew that he was walking on thin ice. Even so, he had no choice but to complete his mission, for he feared the consequences he would suffer if he failed.
After resting for a bit, he flew back to the west, where the magical formation that he had prepared had been tampered with.
It took him two hours to fix everything before flying towards the east to connect the magical formations to each other.
The one he placed in the south didn’t seem to be tampered with, so all he needed to do was head to the west and complete the grand formation that Nessia had made for them.
Nessia and Aeris were Alex’s playthings. They were completely under his mercy, being seen as pets by everyone in their inner circle.
And yet, both of those ladies were extremely powerful in their own right, especially Nessia, who specialized in magical formations.
It was through her genius that Reverse Alex had hatched a plan to take over Hy-Brasil and use it as a base to conquer this parallel world.
Sometimes, Vaan wondered what it would be like if Nessia had some kind of backbone, actually resisting the man who had conquered not only her body, but her heart as well.
In a world where Charles Lambert didn’t exist, Nessia had become one of Alex’s women, who was completely submissive to his every whim.
’I was planning to meet the Nessia and Aeris of this world and see what they were like. But those two annoying b*tches wasted my time.’ Reverse Vaan gritted his teeth as he flew eastwards. ’I guess I’ll just watch from the side and wait for Alex to capture them once he crosses over to this world.’
He then put these thoughts aside. For now, the priority was to hurry and complete the formation as soon as possible.
A few minutes after Reverse Vaan headed east, Himea and Efa appeared behind a tree.
"Both of you rest up." The Little Devil manifested in front of Himea and sat on her shoulder. "I’ll wake you both up when those Reverse People start causing trouble."
Himea and Efa nodded at the same time.
If they wished to help Alex and his friends, they would first need to regain their strength so that they could join him in the battle that would affect the world of Arcana in more ways than one.
