Chapter 832: Do You Want To Eat Chestnuts With Me?

Since the Headmaster was away on a business trip, Alex decided to head to the clubroom to calm down for a bit.

His Guardian, Lex, told him that he should keep this secret from others, especially his lovers.

Truth be told, Alex wanted to share this secret with them. But he agreed that not telling them was also for their own safety.

The fewer people who knew about his secret, the lower the chances of the Aetherion Empire targeting them for answers.

As of the moment, only two people were already aware of his past.

Evangeline and Astrea.

Evangeline was more of a childhood friend, while Astrea said that she was Alex’s promised one.

He didn’t know what being his promised one meant, which was why he wanted to have a proper talk with her the moment he returned to the academy.

While he was deep in thought, he noticed something at the corner of his eye. When he turned his head to get a better look, he saw Astrea talking with her brother, Cassian.

It had been a while since Alex saw him, which made him wonder if he should say hi to his future in-law.

However, as soon as this thought crossed his mind, he immediately put it to the side.

He knew how overprotective Cassian was of Astrea. Aside from that, rumors of Alex being engaged to Lapiz and Aeris were already making rounds in the academy.

Since that was the case, it was impossible for Cassian not to have heard about it.

If Alex were to call him brother-in-law out of nowhere, he was certain that Astrea’s brother would hack him to pieces to get rid of him once and for all.

In the end, Alex decided to walk past them with great regret.

But while he did, he felt someone grab hold of his hand, stopping him in place.

"Aren’t you even going to say hi to me?" Astrea asked with a pout. "After everything you did to me in Hy-Brasil, you’re just going to toss me aside like a convenient woman?"

"Alex Stratos. WHAT. DID. YOU. DO. TO. MY. SISTER?!" Cassian grabbed hold of Alex’s collar and pulled him closer to him.

Alex blinked once, then twice before shifting his attention towards Astrea, who had stuck out her tongue at him.

"Um... it’s a very long and complicated story," Alex replied. "I’m a bit busy right now, so can we talk about this at a later time?"

"No," Cassian replied. "You’re going to talk to me right now."

Seeing that the Second Year wouldn’t take no for an answer, Alex contemplated what he should tell him.

It was then that he thought he saw some multiple-choice answers appear in front of him.

[Choice A]: Do you really want to know? Fine, I’ll tell you. I *beeped* your sister in Hy-Brasil and made sure to *beep* her so much that her *beep* couldn’t take it anymore, so she fainted!

[Choice B]: Brother-in-law, when do you think is the right time to visit your parents? I have decided to marry Astrea, so I would like to ask them to give me her hand in marriage.

[Choice C]: Cassian, before you ask me anything else, I want you to know that I respect you very much. You are Astrea’s older brother, and I would never do anything to anger you. Now, please put down the sword you’re holding in your hand!

[Choice D]: Your sister was the one who did everything. I was merely an innocent victim who got *beeped* repeatedly by her and the other ladies during our trip. While I do admit that it felt incredibly good, they were only after my *beep* last time. They refused to let it go and *beeped* and *beeped* me until I fainted.

[Choice E]: Pardon? I have no idea what you’re talking about. I have never met this woman in my entire life.

[Choice F]: Play dead.

Alex was very tempted to choose [Choice F], but knowing Cassian, he might really stab him just to make sure that he was really dead!

In the end, the young man decided to deal with this matter in the most civil way possible.

"Cassian, please calm down," Alex replied. "There are things I cannot tell you. All I can tell you is that your sister and I share a very special relationship. I know this doesn’t explain a lot, but I am in the process of understanding her true background."

At first, Cassian wanted to shake the living sh*t out of Alex. But when he heard the young man mention Astrea’s ’true background’, the hands holding the young man loosened a bit.

"Did you tell him?" Cassian asked Astrea, making the latter timidly nod her head.

"Hah..." Cassian pinched the bridge of his nose. "Since she told you about her secret, that means she trusts you that much. Fine, I will let it go this time. But if you ever lay your hands on my sister, I will cut it off."

"H-Hahaha..." Alex laughed nervously out of a guilty conscience.

He had already done it with Astrea in Hy-Brasil. While it wasn’t her real body, this didn’t change the fact that they had already taken that step.

Naturally, he didn’t say any of that out loud.

For now, he wanted to wipe the beads of sweat off his forehead, but then remembered that he was also looking for Astrea.

"Brother-in-la—errrr, I mean, Cassian, there is something I want to talk about with Astrea," Alex said in a serious tone. "It’s about her origin. Now that I know about it, I can’t simply remain a bystander. Fate has its way of making things fall into place. So, please, allow me to have a word with her in private."

Cassian looked at his sister, to which the latter nodded her head like a chicken pecking rice.

"Very well," Cassian agreed. "But remember this. I’ll be watching you more closely from now on, Alex. Recently, I heard that you made the two elven princesses your future brides. I’m sure you already know what everyone in the academy is referring to you right now."

Yes. Alex had heard about his new titles. Some of them even made him want to clap his hands due to how rich the imagination of his fellow students was.

In the end, the young man was able to secure Astrea, taking her to the old library to talk to her in private.

And as if waiting for that moment, Evangeline appeared within their line of sight.

"Oh? What are the two of you doing together?" Evangeline asked in a teasing tone. "Is this some after-class date?"

"A date?" Astrea blinked. "Hey Alex, are we on a date?"

"No," Alex replied before reaching out to grab Evangeline’s hand. "Let’s go to the old library. We need to talk about something important."

Evangeline’s expression became serious after hearing Alex’s words. She agreed to come with him, and so the three headed towards the old library together.

When they arrived, they noticed Chuck’s alchemy table at the far corner of the first floor. Fortunately, the young man was not around, so they headed to the second floor.

When they arrived at the spot hidden behind two bookshelves, Alex asked Evangeline and Astrea to sit on the couch that was placed there to make their blood-drinking sessions more comfortable.

But before Alex could even say anything, Astrea sniffed twice and commented.

"Why does it smell like chestnuts here?" Astrea blinked before shifting her attention toward Evangeline. "Hey, did you eat chestnuts here?"

"Yes," Evangeline replied without batting an eye. "It’s my favorite snack whenever I am here. Why? Do you want to eat chestnuts with me?"

"Can I?"

"Sure, but I usually get my nuts from Alex."

When the two ladies turned their attention to him, Alex felt like he was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

He came here to talk about something important to the two girls.

But now, the topic had shifted to nuts, which made Alex start to wonder if he should have brought Astrea and Evangeline to his room instead of coming here to the old library.
