Chapter 833: Secrets And Trust

"Eva, Astrea, I am about to tell the two of you something very important," Alex said in a serious tone. "Please listen to me carefully."

Seeing his expression, Evangeline and Astrea knew the young man hadn’t brought them to the old library to fool around.

The two ladies quieted down, controlling even their breaths as they waited for him to tell them why he had invited them for a private talk.

"As you may already know, the Aetherion Empire will send exchange students here to the academy," Alex stated.

Hearing his words, both ladies’ expressions turned solemn.

They knew about their lover’s background, so anything related to the Aetherion Empire must be treated seriously.

"Did Uncle Luthor say anything?" Evangeline asked.

Luthor Vademont.

That was the true name of the Guardian of the North. But after Alex reunited with him, the older man decided to use an alias.

Now, he went by the name Lex, resuming his duty to guard the Prince whom he had once lost many years ago.

"Sir Lex said that the Aetherion Empire always has a reason for what it does," Alex answered. "As such, I believe that this student exchange program has a deeper reason."

"Could it be that they are trying to find traces of you?" Evangeline’s face hardened.

"It’s possible," Alex replied. "No one really knows what they are planning to do. Perhaps we are just overthinking it. But it never hurts to be careful."

Evangeline and Astrea nodded at the same time.

"Aside from us, does anyone else know about your identity?" Astrea inquired.

"I originally planned to tell the others." Alex sighed. "But, I have decided to keep this as a secret for now. The less they know, the safer they will be."

"Is that really what you think?" Astrea asked.

Alex paused and stared at the young lady who was looking straight back at him. Astrea might be bold at times, but her gaze looked particularly bolder this time, as if to say that she didn’t agree with the young man’s opinion.

"I know you’re only doing this for their sake," Astrea said softly. "But what do you think they will feel when they find out about this only when your life is truly in danger? I know everyone has their secrets.

"Even I have them. However, I still think that this is a secret that they should know about. After all, the bonds you share with them are longer than the ones that I have with you. They are people you can trust, and they will keep your secret no matter what."

Evangeline’s gaze softened.

At first, she thought of keeping her "sisters" in the dark, thinking it would be for their best.

But after hearing Astrea’s words, she realized that she might have overlooked just how much they loved Alex.

If the young man couldn’t trust them, then who could they trust?

Alex also had the same realization, making him smile bitterly.

"H-Hey, I’m not saying that your earlier decision to keep it as a secret is wrong." Astrea panicked after seeing the sadness in Alex’s expression. "I’m just saying that perhaps we could handle this matter more efficiently if those whom you can trust know about your story."

Alex nodded. "Thank you, Astrea. You’ve made me realize that I am still lacking in many things. You’re right. They are people that I can trust. Letting them know about this background of mine will allow them to help us when things go south."

Astrea patted her chest and sighed deeply. She wasn’t really a smart person. Truth be told, sometimes, she acted before she even thought about things carefully.

However, as a woman, she would feel sad if she discovered that Alex was in danger but had no idea how and why it happened.

That was why she had voiced her opinion.

Although her true body was still a maiden, in her heart, she was already one of Alex’s lovers.

"Understood. I will inform everyone about this later," Alex stated. "For now, we should do our best to stay away from the students from the Aetherion Empire when they arrive here at the academy."

Both ladies nodded in agreement.

"But what if they try to get close to us even if we try to stay away from them?" Astrea asked back. "I don’t want to brag, but I’m very good looking, you know?"

The young man looked at his promised one with a serious expression. Now that Astrea had mentioned it, there really was a high chance that the students of the Aetherion Empire would approach his lovers.

Why?

The answer was really simple.

All of them were beautiful ladies!

Astrea, no matter how clumsy she acted, exuded a charm that made her look like a princess from a fairytale.

As for Evangeline, she had this very seductive body that would make guys unable to take their eyes off her. Her cold attitude was also very appealing to those who liked icy queens, whom they wanted to melt using their own hands.

Lavinia was a Catkin. While Alex didn’t want to admit it, some guys might have thought of petting her. She was simply that lovely.

Even he was guilty of petting her from time to time. Whenever she purred, Alex felt like he was getting free calming therapy. A very effective one at that.

As for Fran... that smile of hers was something that must be protected at all costs! Seriously, he was afraid that someone would just pick her up and take her home.

Fortunately, Fran was very strong so a punch from her would be enough to send someone to the infirmary.

Astrea rested her hands on her waist and puffed up her chest. For a brief moment, Alex was tempted to reach out and grab those soft hills to punish her for the crime of being cute.

"Anyway, we need to discuss a foolproof plan that would keep us from interacting with them as much as possible." Evangeline coughed lightly, noticing Alex’s gaze locked onto Astrea’s chest. "We need to discuss this with the others. So, I propose that we have a sleepover at the clubroom tonight?"

Astrea blinked. "An org—awwww!"

Alex did a karate chop on the young lady’s forehead to stop whatever she was going to say next.

His image of the ignorant and naive Astrea was starting to crumble due to how lively and bold she had become.

And while he didn’t dislike these changes, he was starting to worry that his new lover might do something reckless in the future, which would make Alex unable to hold back and eat her up right on the spot.
