Chapter 781: Chapter 498: Ancient Ruins! (Double-length Chapter)

The injury to the demon body is nothing to him, but with the damage to his divine soul, recovery is no simple matter.

If not handled well, it could drag down his heart core and further affect his cultivation foundation.

Thinking of this, he grew more irritable over this setback.

"G-Great King..."

A few demon shadows flitted over from not far away, hesitating to approach the fallen King of the Nine Netherworlds.

The King of the Nine Netherworlds abruptly lifted his head, his three blood-red eyes filled with evil qi staring at them, making them shiver all over.

"Great King, it’s us, you’re..." A Bird Demon, afraid the King of the Nine Netherworlds hadn’t recognized him, quickly flapped his wings to disperse the surrounding sandstorm.

They are subordinates of the King of the Nine Netherworlds and had followed him into the Celestial Ruins Realm.

Initially scattered, they were now reunited with their king, yet before they could rejoice, they saw the King of the Nine Netherworlds in such a wretched state that they initially doubted their own eyes.

Their king, so powerful and invincible, how could he become so battered in just a few hours?

But the truth lay before them, and a bleeding, arm-broken King of the Nine Netherworlds couldn’t possibly be faked.

The Nine Netherworld isn’t without demons adept at transformation, but none would dare impersonate the King of the Nine Netherworlds so brazenly.

"Blood Bird stays, the rest of you go search the relics!" The King of the Nine Netherworlds glanced over the few demons he brought, leaving only one Great Demon as his guard, dispersing the rest.

"Yes, yes!"

The demons dared not question further, lest they anger the king, and hurried off.

"What does the Great King wish me to do?" the remaining Bird Demon asked cautiously.

Though a Great Demon, she dared not speak rashly before the King of the Nine Netherworlds.

One should know that when angered, the King of the Nine Netherworlds could easily swallow and devour Great Demons in the blink of an eye, and few in the Nine Netherworld dared to offend him.

"Take me away from here and find a safer place; I need to heal," the King of the Nine Netherworlds said solemnly.

"Yes." The Bird Demon agreed immediately, transforming into a great bird with vibrant red feathers, bowing her head in front of the king, allowing him to step onto her demon body and onto her back.

A blood-colored demonic wind swept past, and in an instant, they vanished without a trace.

...

Elsewhere within the Celestial Ruins Realm, on a cracked, arid land, groups of demon race gathered, each heading in a predetermined direction in search of possible relics and secret treasures.

"Why is it so scorching hot here?" The Squid Demon rubbed his slippery skin, glancing around.

"Could the entire Celestial Ruins Realm be like this?"

"Who knows, maybe the sun is too harsh," shook the Crab Demon beside him. As a member of the Water Demons, traveling across such dry lands was truly a torment.

He extended a claw, waving it about, trying to draw some moisture from the air to replenish his demon body.

Yet the land was so parched that it seemed to lack any water element, leaving him unable to draw even a drop.

"Nonsense, look up there, where’s the sun!" The Squid Demon cursed at the oblivious Crab Demon next to him.

The crab raised his head, finally realizing that although there was celestial light in this Secret Realm, there was indeed no proper sun.

"The heat source isn’t in the sky but somewhere here!" the Squid Demon astutely deduced, continuing to press forward while scanning the surroundings.

"And such an unusual heat source, able to drain the water elemental energy of such a vast land, must be extraordinary. Perhaps there’s a major secret treasure!"

Upon hearing this, the previously lethargic water demons nearby all perked up.

Life might be tough now, but finding a great treasure would make such suffering worthwhile.

"Let’s hurry, lest other demons beat us to it!" the Crab Demon exclaimed with excitement, ready to sprint ahead.

Among the demons, the Squid Demon stood out as a leader, and he relished the feeling of being in charge.

"Why hurry..." he was about to continue when suddenly, a stream of light descended not far away.

It turned out to be the Hawk Demon and the Little Phoenix she brought, who had also entered the Celestial Ruins Realm.

The Hawk’s gaze was indifferent, glancing at the few water demons not far away, all of Demon General Level, insignificant to her.

The water demons immediately fell silent, not daring to take another step.

As the Hawk watched, they promptly and without hesitation knelt on the ground.

"Greetings, Great King!"

In the Demon Realm, little demons address great demons with the respect due to a king.

The Hawk ignored them, asking the Little Phoenix beside her, "Master, do you sense anything?"

"Sister Kuan, sense what?" The Little Phoenix flapped its wings, spinning around in confusion.

This place, with its warmth, was quite comfortable for it.

"Use your bloodline to sense this place; do you feel a resonance?" the Hawk patiently explained.

The Little Phoenix understood and immediately activated its Bird Race bloodline.

The next moment.

"I feel it, I feel it!" The Little Phoenix quickly sensed something here was drawing it in.

The Hawk nodded upon hearing this, "It seems my intuition was right."

The purpose of this venture into the Celestial Ruins Realm lay here!

"Sister Kuan, what is here?" the Little Phoenix asked.

The Hawk raised her hand, and amidst her slender fingers appeared a golden feather, floating before her with incomparable grace.
