Chapter 782: Chapter 498: Ancient Ruins! (Double Length)
This is exactly her most treasured possession, the Celestial Phoenix Feather!
She was summoned by the Celestial Phoenix Feather to this place, and her calm heart could not help but stir at this moment.
"This place might have the relics of the Divine Celestial Phoenix!" Kuan slowly said.
The traces of the Celestial Phoenix had disappeared from the world for who knows how many years, and the Celestial Phoenix Feather she acquired decades ago could be a catalyst!
A chance for the Celestial Phoenix Race to see the light of day once more!
"The relics of the Celestial Phoenix, wonderful! Wonderful!" Little Phoenix cheered upon hearing these words, happily whirling around and chattering non-stop.
"Let’s go, believe in the power of the bloodline, it will guide us to where we want to be." Kuan, seeing Little Phoenix so excited, couldn’t help but smile.
Celestial Phoenix, ancestor of all birds!
As a member of the Bird Race, she also had to pay homage to the Celestial Phoenix, feeling a longing towards it.
If there really are Celestial Phoenix ruins here, it would drive any member of the Bird Race mad!
"Go! Go!" Little Phoenix responded, flying ahead, with Kuan following closely behind on wings.
The few Water Demons left behind looked at each other, all stunned.
"The Heavens, Celestial Phoenix..."
They seemed to have heard something momentous!
Meanwhile, within the Heavenly Ruins Realm, in a chilling land of gloom.
"I really didn’t expect there to be such a place compatible with us within the Celestial Ruins Realm." A red light flickered in Song Changping’s eyes as he surveyed his surroundings.
Without him doing anything, thick waves of Evil Yin Qi swirled into their bodies naturally, as if humans were soaking in hot springs—this place was undoubtedly a prime treasure for undead corpses like them.
Even in An Province, finding such a place was extremely difficult.
"Senior, could there be some great treasure here?" Song Changping asked, watching an undead corpse man walking ahead with determination.
"I don’t know." The man curtly replied, not stopping his pace.
"Uh..." Song Changping originally thought the man barged into this part of the Celestial Ruins Realm with a purpose, having found this chilling place.
Yet, the outcome seemed contrary to his expectations.
He wondered if this undead senior truly didn’t know or simply didn’t want to share too much with him.
"Undead corpse?"
Suddenly, a small group of Demons in the sky looked down at Song Changping and his two companions plus a Barbarian Bear that had turned into an Evil Yin Ghost, showing several expressions of disgust.
"I knew it, such a chilling, evil place would certainly have these living dead loitering." One Demon curled a lip and said.
"What do you say, should we clear out these disgusting things first?"
Another Demon frowned and said, "Ignore them, let’s see what we can find inside. The environment here is unique; we might have great harvests!"
Having entered this Celestial Ruins Realm laboriously, he obviously didn’t want to waste time on these undead beings despised even by other Demons.
Undead corpses were neither alive nor dead, their Yin-tainted flesh inedible, making killing them pointless, which was why Demons despised them.
Just then, Song Chang’an suddenly looked up at the few Demons in the sky.
His crimson eyes glistened with ferocity, seemingly overhearing the Demons’ conversation.
"Hmm?" The Demon who spoke first was momentarily stunned, then gathered his Demon Power, preparing to strike.
"Courting death!"
Out in the world, undead corpses were usually not very formidable—the Evil Yin Qi troublesome but not irresistible.
This Demon had slain undead corpses more than once, or other ghostly creatures in An Province.
However, the Demon overlooked an important point in his eagerness.
Undead corpses capable of entering the Celestial Ruins Realm were no ordinary beings, especially in a place where all the Evil Yin Qi could be used by them, making it their dominion!
Accompanied by an explosion of Evil Yin Qi, calm was restored shortly after.
The undead man still led the way, with Song Changping and Song Chang’an following behind, as if nothing had happened.
Afterwards.
Was a procession of Demons turned into Evil Yin Ghosts, stumbling as they seemed to adapt to their new bodies.
The line of figures thus delved deeper into the cold, gloomy land.
...
Just how vast the Celestial Ruins Realm was, no one knew, not even the current Emperor Yun could say for certain.
Because the Celestial Ruins Realm was never static!
Every time it opened, everything inside would be slightly different!
Directions, dimensions, environments, even landscapes and many already explored ancient ruins kept changing.
The territory seemed like a collage, like a jigsaw puzzle ready to be unsettled and rearranged at any time, making this Secret Realm full of eeriness and discordance.
It seemed like an illusion, yet treasures brought out to the outside world proved everything within the realm was real.
It just had its own set of operational rules.
In a land of endless yellow sand, after continuous sandstorms, some remnants of walls were revealed.
Before long, a Great Demon swooped in and discovered something unusual.
Decisively unleashing a burst of Demon Power, he overturned the thick sand covering the ground beneath.
Thus more of the buried ruins were exposed.
An ancient, dilapidated great hall quickly caught his eye; it was not grand or magnificent but constructed from some kind of dark green stone, appearing ancient and mysterious.
It was covered with many bizarre totem markings, and if examined closely, these totems seemed to depict flora and fauna, mountains, forests, and beasts.
The largest and most numerous engravings were those of the monkey totem.
"Ruins, I really found ruins!" The Great Demon exclaimed, ecstatic, cautiously glancing around, fearing other Demons might eye this place.
After only a moment of observation, he decisively approached the ruins, lest delay bring changes.
He certainly didn’t want the treasures inside the ruins he discovered first to be stolen by other Demons.
However, as he stepped into the perimeter of the ruins, it was like triggering a switch—repulsive energy surged like a tidal wave, changing the Great Demon’s expression drastically.
Even expending all his Demon Power, he couldn’t withstand for more than a few breaths before being forcefully ejected dozens of miles away, leaving the dignified Great Demon looking very much disheveled.
"How is this possible!"
The Great Demon struggled to calm his mind and found his Demon Power suddenly severely depleted.
"A Human Ritual Array? But without any rune fluctuations?"
The Great Demon looked at the repulsive force covering the entire ruin and sensed something amiss.
Biting his lip, he got up and attempted to approach the ruins again.
Unfortunately, not everyone possessed the mighty strength of the King of the Nine Netherworlds to single-handedly withstand the repulsive force of these ruins.
After the second attempt and being thrown away, the Great Demon was already seriously injured and looked somber.
He finally realized these ruins couldn’t be forcibly breached by a single Demon, much to his frustration.
But he didn’t give up, silently waiting beside the ruins.
Before long, more Demons arrived at the scene, spotting the now mostly revealed ancient ruins and each being as thrilled as the Great Demon initially was.
"Hmph!" The Great Demon snorted lightly, not too inclined to elaborate when asked by other Demons.
Until each of those Demons was likewise bounced away by the repulsive force, just like him, did his spirits lift a little.
When everyone shared the same plight, it wasn’t so bad.
"This repulsive force needs to be collectively shared, then we can enter!" Among the Demons were also clever ones who soon realized the key.
The Demons looked at each other, full of mutual distrust yet forced to choose collaboration.
And as the Demons were attempting this, another gust of wind blew by, bringing two figures of the Human Race with it.
They were Yi Lang and Bian Bohong, who entered with Song Changming.
Unexpectedly, the two reunited shortly after entering the Celestial Ruins Realm and had teamed up to explore together here.
"Ruins!" Yi Lang exclaimed joyfully, while Bian Bohong was startled, not overly joyous, having past experience entering the Celestial Ruins Realm.
This wasn’t the first ancient ruin he’d come across.
He knew well the dangers of ruins and that seeing ruins didn’t guarantee the treasures inside were yours.
Especially with so many Demons present, the two Human Race Grandmasters seemed woefully outnumbered.
