Chapter 107: A Crushing Defeat

  • Next Chapter

As the dust slowly settled, the clear scene came in front of all.

Long Feng was standing there. His left hand was raised. His fingers had transformed into a strange claw-like shape. And that terrifying axe was firmly caught in his palm.

Silence!

Absolute silence!

Nobody could believe what they were seeing.

"Impossible..."

"He caught it? With his bare hand?"

"How can his hand withstand that force?"

Even the Vermilion Flame Sect’s disciples and elders stared in disbelief.

The axe-wielding disciple’s pupils contracted. He immediately tried to pull his weapon back, but he couldn’t.

"Let go!"

He gritted his teeth. His arms bulged as he poured even more strength into his body.

But Long Feng’s left hand didn’t move. The enormous axe remained completely motionless.

"Is this all?"

Long Feng calmly looked at him and said with a smile.

"Don’t underestimate me!"

The disciple’s expression became furious. His face turned red from straining so hard.

BOOM!

His spiritual energy erupted again. He pulled with all his strength.

But Long Feng suddenly raised his right hand. His palm struck the axe handle. The enormous weapon immediately slipped from the disciple’s hands.

Before the disciple could react, Long Feng caught the axe with one hand and threw it back toward him.

WHOOSH!

The giant axe flew through the air with terrifying speed.

The disciple’s expression changed dramatically. He hurriedly caught the weapon with both hands.

BOOM!

The force of the impact caused his feet to slide several meters backward. His arms trembled violently. He barely managed to stop the axe.

The disciple’s breathing became heavy. He had finally realized something.

His greatest advantage had become completely useless.

His weapon, which had always overwhelmed opponents through its weight and destructive power, couldn’t even force Long Feng to retreat.

Long Feng slowly raised his left hand. The strange claw-like shape in his hand remained. A terrifying aura began gathering around it.

’That aura...’ The disciple’s expression changed.

Long Feng’s eyes became cold. "Now it’s my turn."

And the next moment, he used Blazing Fire Steps and his body disappeared.

The axe-wielding disciple immediately alerted and raised his giant axe.

"Earth Shattering Axe!"

The axe erupted with violent spiritual energy. Its power was almost comparable to an Earth Rank technique. He swung it forward with everything he had.

At the same moment, Long Feng’s left hand descended towards his head.

"Sky Demon Claw."

BOOM!!!

A terrifying claw-shaped force erupted from his hand and collided with the giant axe.

For an instant, the arena trembled violently.

The Vermilion Flame Sect’s disciple desperately held onto his axe. But the destructive force of the Sky Demon Claw completely overwhelmed his technique.

CRACK!

The spiritual energy surrounding the axe shattered, causing the disciple’s eyes widened.

"No—!"

BOOM!

The claw-shaped force struck him directly.

His body was sent flying across the arena before crashing heavily onto the ground. The enormous axe slipped from his hands and landed several meters away.

The referee immediately rushed forward. After checking the disciple’s condition, he raised his hand.

"The Vermilion Flame Sect’s disciple is unable to continue."

"The winner is Long Feng!"

For several moments, nobody reacted, then the entire eastern side erupted.

"He won!"

"He defeated him bare-handed!"

"That axe didn’t even touch him! Did you see how he caught it?"

Even the Vermilion disciples looked at Long Feng with complicated expressions.

Long Feng simply stood in the center of the arena. His expression remained calm. As though everything that had just happened was completely ordinary.

But the spectators no longer looked at him the same way.

After watching Zhi Yuan’s three consecutive battles, they had already been wondering about the strength of the final Azura Heaven Sect’s disciple.

Now they finally had their answer.

Long Feng hadn’t merely defeated his opponent. He had made the enormous axe that had frightened everyone look almost useless.

Many people began wondering just how strong was this mysterious disciple who had appeared at the very end of the competition?

The next Vermilion Flame Sect disciple slowly stepped onto the arena.

Unlike the previous disciples, this time, the person who walked onto the stage was a woman.

She wore the red robes of the Vermilion Flame Sect, and her long black hair was neatly tied behind her head, with a few strands falling naturally beside her delicate face.

Her appearance immediately attracted the attention of the surrounding spectators.

However, what drew Long Feng’s attention was not her beauty. It was the sword in her hand.

The sword was extremely thin and light, almost resembling the transparent wing of a cicada.

Its blade reflected a faint silver radiance under the sunlight, and although it appeared fragile at first glance, Long Feng could sense a sharp sword intent quietly lingering around it.

The woman stopped several meters away from Long Feng and calmly looked at him.

"My name is Qin Wu."

Her voice was calm and composed, without the slightest nervousness despite seeing what Long Feng had done in the previous battle.

"Long Feng." Long Feng glanced at her for a moment before smiling.

"Long Feng?"

She repeated his name as though trying to remember where she had heard it before. After thinking for a moment, she shook her head.

"I have never heard of you."

"That’s normal. After all I’m not a beautiful lady like you." Long Feng smiled naturally.

The spectators around the arena immediately burst into laughter.

"This guy! Did he come here to fight or flirt?"

"Someone should remind him that the purpose of this competition is to win, not to build relationships!"

"He’s probably going to regret saying that once Qin Wu starts attacking."

On the Vermilion Flame Sect’s side, several disciples also laughed.

Qin Wu’s expression remained calm, but a faint helplessness appeared in her eyes.

"You really talk a lot. By the way, I’m quite good with the sword. How about you also drew your sword?"

Qin Wu slowly raised the thin sword in her hand and pointed toward him.

"Why not." Long Feng looked at the sword in her hand and casually nodded.

A sword appeared in his hand. It was an ordinary-looking sword without any particularly frightening aura.

The moment Long Feng held it, the spectators became even more confused.

"He’s using a sword? Since when is he good with a sword?"

"Before that he used that terrifying claw technique. Why did he suddenly decide to fight Qin Wu with a sword?"

"Perhaps beauty really did make him lose his mind."

Even some of the Vermilion Flame Sect disciples looked at Long Feng strangely.

Qin Wu did not laugh. Her eyes remained focused on Long Feng’s sword.

"Begin!" The referee raised his hand.

The instant his voice fell, Qin Wu moved. Her body seemed to become weightless as she stepped forward. The distance between the two disappeared in an instant.

Clang!

Her thin sword flashed toward Long Feng’s throat.

Long Feng’s eyes narrowed slightly as he tilted his head to the side. The sword passed dangerously close to his cheek.

Before he could counterattack, Qin Wu twisted her wrist.

The sword that had just passed his face suddenly changed direction and swept toward his shoulder.

Clang!

Long Feng immediately raised his sword and the two swords collided. The impact sent a sharp metallic sound throughout the arena.

Qin Wu’s expression remained calm. She stepped forward again.

Her sword moved like a silver thread, constantly changing its direction as she launched one attack after another.

Every attack was extremely precise.

More importantly, there was almost no unnecessary movement in her swordsmanship.

She did not waste spiritual energy with large movements or flashy techniques. Every step, every turn of her wrist, and every movement of her body was connected perfectly.

Long Feng’s sword continuously blocked her attacks.

Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

The sound of metal colliding rapidly echoed across the arena. Qin Wu’s sword became faster and faster.

At first, Long Feng had been casually blocking her attacks.

But after several exchanges, his expression gradually became more serious.

’Her swordsmanship is actually quite good.’

Unlike the previous opponents, Qin Wu did not rely purely on spiritual energy to overwhelm her opponent.

Her swordsmanship itself was excellent.

Every time Long Feng blocked one attack, another attack immediately followed from an unexpected angle.

She was using her movement skill together with her swordsmanship, making her body appear to slide across the arena.

One moment she was directly in front of Long Feng. The next moment she had already appeared beside him.

Long Feng turned his body and blocked another sword strike.

Qin Wu immediately thrust forward. The tip of her sword stopped only inches away from his chest.

Long Feng stepped backward, but Qin Wu followed.

"You aren’t bad," she said calmly while continuing her attacks. "But your swordsmanship doesn’t seem to be your strongest point."

"You noticed?" Long Feng smiled.

"Your sword is strong because of your spiritual energy and physical strength," Qin Wu replied while her sword continued flashing. "But your movements are not as refined as mine."

She suddenly increased her speed. A series of sword shadows appeared around Long Feng.

"I’ve spent many years practicing the sword."

Her voice remained calm. "You cannot defeat me simply because your spiritual energy is stronger."

"Is that so?" Long Feng’s eyes flashed.

Qin Wu’s sword suddenly swept toward his chest which he blocked, but the force behind the attack pushed his body backward several steps.

The stone beneath his feet cracked slightly as he stabilized himself.

The spectators immediately became excited.

"Qin Wu is suppressing him! Her swordsmanship really is amazing."

"She is one of the most famous sword disciples among the younger generation of Vermilion Flame Sect."

"Her ’Falling Moon Sword’ and movement technique ’Moonless Pursuit’ complement each other perfectly."
