Evolution Online: My 10,000× Reward System Multiplies Everything
Chapter 139: Battling the Colossal Titan
Kaelen’s two blades powerfully struck the side of the Titan’s neck, only to make a shallow cut that could barely be considered a life-threatening injury and was far from making any effort in cutting off Felix’s head.
This made Kaelen frown.
Even with Primordial Tier weapons, he had only managed to cut through Felix’s fingers by focusing on the weak joints that weren’t reinforced with muscles, and the cut he made along the arm was no different from the one he made on the neck now.
It’s just like SKD said. Felix’s natural defenses were simply too strong, and it’ll take forever to cut through his muscles in one spot, let alone doing that repeatedly across his body.
Even if Kaelen managed to stay in one piece across the battle, he was still one man and would quickly run out of stamina, leaving him vulnerable for Felix to take advantage of.
"Master Kaelen?!"
Kaelen snapped his head just in time to see Felix’s colossal hand closing in on him like he wanted to slap a mosquito on his skin. Felix had moved incredibly fast that all Kaelen’s escape routes were already blocked by the fingers surrounding him. Even if he managed to make it out, he’d surely have to sacrifice an arm or a leg for that.
That was probably Felix’s plan. But what the Titan didn’t know was that Kaelen never planned on dodging the attack. He simply stood there as he stared at the palm looming over him like divine judgment, but just before he could get crushed under its weight—
Slash!
Kaelen’s eyes widened in surprise as the hand shifted and fell to the side in a spray of blood as the tip of a blade cleanly sliced through it at the wrist.
Lysandra appeared beside him the next moment with her longsword coated in the Titan’s blood.
"Master Kaelen, are you okay?" She asked hurriedly.
Kaelen nodded once, but focused on the pale blade in her hand. "I’m guessing you also crafted that sword too."
It had sliced through Felix’s wrist, meanwhile his Primordial Tier swords had only left shallow cuts across the arm that had long regenerated.
"Yes. I crafted it from the femur of a Supreme Dragon."
"Supreme Dragon?" Kaelen was stunned.
If there was a Supreme Dragon in the World Authority Fragment, it simply meant Lysandra wasn’t the only dragon to evolve this far. She was simply the only survivor after a battle of evolution. A battle to the death.
"I see. I have a plan. Cover me while I slice his neck open."
"Yes, Master Kaelen. Please be careful." She said and immediately shot out to intercept the other palm flying towards them.
Kaelen was momentarily stunned as her last words replayed in his head.
"She certainly is not like SKD."
She didn’t even ask what the plan was and simply followed orders. She believed in him.
Kaelen shifted his gaze back to the neck now fully healed. "Alright, then. Let’s see how fast you can heal from this one."
Supreme Flames.
Swoosh—
A coat of black flames immediately swallowed his two swords on command. Unlike fireballs, the Supreme Flame was more lenient and could be used in anything for as long as its user could control it.
Kaelen roared as he lifted the blades above his head in an X shape, before bringing them down on Felix’s neck.
The effect was different.
The blades sank several inches through Felix’s thick neck muscles, and the Titan let out a horrifying dual-layered roar that disoriented Kaelen and almost knocked him off his feet.
"Shut the fuck up." Kaelen shook his head to shake off the dizzying effects, before he brought his swords up again as the wounds began to heal at a visible rate.
"Not this time." As Kaelen brought his swords down at the exact same spot, he didn’t pause for a moment before they were raised again and brought down. Repeatedly at lightning speed that bathed him in a spray of Titan’s blood.
"Oh no." Aria suddenly whispered. "We forgot to mention the Titan’s blood is extremely acidic and can melt even bones." She said as she turned to Naomi.
The woman didn’t say anything for a moment, and she simply stared at Kaelen’s terrifying form, the flashback of their previous encounter resurfacing in her thoughts.
"I don’t know much about venoms... but I’m sure he’ll be just fine."
A figure suddenly dropped down from above with a katana, and paused to stare at Kaelen for a moment, her cyan hair glinting in the moonlight. Then she turned to face the women.
"The beast wave is almost here. Prepare for battle."
The three women paused to stare at Black Rose blankly.
"We don’t take orders from you." Naomi said spitefully.
"What? That wasn’t an order. I was only informing you—"
"Well, don’t tell us what to do." Naomi interrupted her.
"No one asked for your help." Aria calmly pitched in.
Black Rose was taken aback by their hostility. "I’m not helping you. I only came here to eliminate a threat to my nation—" she was still talking when the two Akkadian women disappeared from the spot and went into battle like she was never there.
"Save the speech for when you get back to the stronghold." Yelena suddenly said. "Your opinions mean nothing here."
Black Rose was about to refute her, when she saw Yelena’s eyes widen as she stared at something behind her back. She quickly turned to see what it was, only to see everyone had paused to stare at the exact same thing in shock and disbelief.
It was Kaelen and the Colossal Titan. Except now, the Colossal Titan’s head was only being held together by some strands of nerves, while Kaelen stood above its exposed neck in a bloodied mess.
"He did it." Black Rose whispered to herself, but then looked around and noticed something vital. "Why is no one celebrating the victory?"
"Would you not be dumb at a time like this," Yelena interrupted her. "If you were here earlier, you would’ve learned the Colossal Titan could only be killed if its heart is destroyed, or it could simply regenerate infinitely."
"What? Then why did he go for the neck instead of the chest?"
"The Colossal Titan could also move its heart freely across its body at any point in time, making the chest a very unlikely place to leave his heart at... but you asked a good question. Why did he go for the neck of all the other parts he could start searching from?"
Like Kaelen was answering her question, and before the eyes of everyone, he dropped down into the exposed windpipe of the Colossal Titan.
Everyone’s eyes immediately widened in shock and disbelief.
"W-What the hell?"
"Master Kaelen?!"
