Boooom—!!!

The first thing that greeted Kaelen as he appeared at the ruins was the deep tremor that sent trees swaying wildly and sinking into the ground, while a colossal shadow loomed over him and the entire ruins, burying everything in darkness.

His brows furrowed immediately as he looked up to the Colossal Titan already before the ruins and inching closer at the onslaught of large white wolves scaling up its large body and sinking their fangs into its exposed muscles.

He’d only been gone for a few minutes, and Felix had come this far, even with Aria and Naomi doing their best to keep it at bay.

On spotting Kaelen’s group, the alpha wolf broke out of the pack and dashed towards them, before transforming into a woman just as she arrived before them.

"I thought you had ’slimed’ me for a moment." She said as she ran her eyes through SKD and Lysandra, who didn’t even acknowledge her as she kept her eyes on the Colossal Titan.

"I’ll take that as a pathetic attempt for a joke." Kaelen replied and shifted his gaze to Lysandra.

"What do you think? Can you handle him?" He asked curiously.

Lysandra stared at the Titan for a moment longer. "Of course." She replied and stepped forward without command, moving towards Felix with her long sword in hand.

"What are you doing? Why’s she going alone?" Naomi asked with a frown.

"We’ll see." Kaelen simply replied as he kept his eyes on Lysandra.

"That thing’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. Its muscles are like mithril—hard to even make a dent with fangs. There’s only a handful of exposed parts on its body, and unless we attack those areas, it mostly ignores us." Naomi briefed. "I know you humans don’t care about the lives of others, but she’s better off fighting alongside us than going in alone. I’ve lost more wolves than I can count."

"Thanks for the pep talk. But she’s not your wolf, Akkadian." Kaelen replied dismissively.

Naomi frowned deeply. "You... your pride shall be your downfall, human."

Kaelen chuckled softly. "Save that for later. It’s happening..."

Lysandra calmly arrived before the Colossal Titan and raised her sword at it from the ground, looking like an ant challenging a god.

Felix had just swatted a number of wolves off him like flies, when he looked down to see Lysandra with her sword aimed for his chest from below.

He didn’t bother and simply lifted his foot over her head, before stomping down on her.

Booooooom—!!!

Everyone’s eyes, including Kaelen’s, widened in shock and disbelief as the night was momentarily dispelled, and a bright light illuminated the entire ruins and beyond.

It wasn’t the sun. It was a concentrated golden beam that had escaped the top of Lysandra’s long sword and reached the heavens, leaving the Colossal Titan completely frozen on the spot with its foot still suspended above her, and a life-sized hole that went from its foot to its knees, and through his chest, escaping from the other side.

As the beam dissipated and the darkness slowly returned, everyone in the ruins was completely frozen on the spot as they stared at the back of the long-haired woman who slowly brought down her sword and tilted her head to look at Kaelen.

The Colossal Titan stumbled backwards, before it fell on its back, raising a cloud and dust that covered the entire ruins.

"D-Did she just..." Naomi mumbled in disbelief, while Aria, who was perched up on the tree breathing heavily, paused to stare at Lysandra with a complicated expression.

Lysandra raised her hand to wave at Kaelen through the dust. "Master Kaelen, did I do well? I think I killed—"

ROARRRRR—!!!

A loud roar suddenly escaped from the fallen Titan’s throat, tearing through the night and forcing everyone to hastily plug their ears to protect their eardrums.

It was a loud, piercing roar that made Kaelen frown deeply.

"It’s just like I thought..." Kaelen suddenly heard SKD mumble behind him.

"What was that?"

"Milord, I might not have experience fighting a Titan, but I do know one or two things about them."

"And why didn’t you say anything? What’s happening?"

"I wanted to be certain before saying anything, because it was highly unlikely we’d be dealing with a Primordial Titan."

"A Primordial Titan? Isn’t that still a rank below you?"

"No. The Primordial in its name isn’t from its rank, but from its origin. It’s the purest and nearest in bloodline to the first Titan ever created in the universe, and they’re popularly known and feared for a particular set of abilities they wield. One of them... is the death call."

As SKD finished his sentence, the ground slowly began trembling, before it became a loud rumbling. The sound was familiar to Kaelen, and he immediately recognized it from the night he spent in the wasteland.

"Is that a stampede?" He asked in surprise.

"Exactly. The Primordial Titans have the ability to call and control every beast within the sound range of their death call."

Kaelen’s eyes widened in disbelief as he looked around to see the trees in the forest shaking fiercely before getting torn apart from their roots like something large was approaching.

At the same time, Aria jumped down from the tree and ran towards them hastily. "There’s something large approaching. I-I think a full-scale beast wave was just triggered by that Titan."

Kaelen frowned deeply. He wasn’t scared of getting caught up in the beast wave, but it’d be impossible to fight the Titan while under siege by thousands of mind-controlled beasts. A Nightmare Shadow could even show up, stronger than the last, and might pose a threat.

"What are we going to do?" Aria asked impatiently, and Kaelen looked up to see everyone’s eyes on him.

"What? What are you looking at me for?"

Naomi scoffed in cold disbelief. "You told me to buy you time to prepare for the battle. Is this all you’ve got?"

Before Kaelen could reply, a large tremor shook the entire area, and they all turned to see the Colossal Titan getting back to its feet. Except now, there were no holes or injuries on its body.

"What the hell?" Naomi blurted in disbelief.

"That’s the second ability; Regeneration." SKD replied with a serious tone. "Unless their heart is destroyed, they can regenerate any part of their body infinitely at an incredible rate."

"Sounds easy to me. Is that all?" Kaelen asked for clarification.

"Not quite. They have the ability to move their heart across their body at will. With their natural defense, you might spend the entire night slicing their chest open only to find the heart missing because they’ve already moved it to their feet. Then you’d have to start all over again without truly knowing where the heart was hidden."

Damn...

If Kaelen had pulled such a race, he wouldn’t need the system to become overpowered soon enough. Especially for someone who spent a thousand years with such a broken race.

"Is this really the end..." Aria mumbled as she dropped to her knees. "Did Cici die... for nothing—"

Booom—!!!

An explosion suddenly rocked the Titan’s head, then several others across its body, all coming from above.

As soon as Kaelen lifted his head, he immediately frowned. "Who the hell asked for her help here?" He mumbled as several aircraft flew across the ruins while dropping warheads on the Titan, and one especially large cargo ship opened its back door, and several tiny figures began jumping out.

The Capital’s Elite Squad.

"I hope I’m not late either." A voice suddenly came from behind them, and Kaelen tilted his head to see Yelena standing there.

"What are you doing here?"

"I came for you."

"Huh?"

"Though you may not still remember, but you saved my life back in Stronghold 2 when I was taken away by black-market traffickers. You fought them single-handedly before your father’s troops arrived to have to save you too because you were beaten to a pulp." She chuckled softly.

"I made a promise to return the favor, and since I couldn’t do anything for Lady Jessica, I’m here to make sure you don’t die."

Kaelen found her story hilarious, though his memory still proved stubborn. But it was something Kaelen could do; jumping into danger without proper risk assessment.

"Well then, I guess I might need your help with keeping those bugs off him. But Felix... he’s mine."

Naomi exhaled softly. Though she wasn’t happy one bit with having to team up with humans, she didn’t have a choice now. And the more they were in number, the better than relying on Kaelen alone.

She turned to glance at Kaelen. "You did all this?" She asked.

"Nah."

She sneered at his nonchalant reply. "If you’re truly humanity’s strongest warrior, then your race is doomed. You’re nothing but a slime with the ego of a dragon."

Kaelen chuckled softly. "Yeah, sure."

"SKD, you only have one job. That’s to keep the beast tide at bay. Lysandra, you’re with me. If we can’t tell where his heart is, then we’ll simply chop him to pieces until we find it."

"And how do you plan on doing that?" Naomi asked disdainfully.

Kaelen didn’t reply. He simply took his stance.

’Reaping Angel’s Wings.’

Boom—

He shot forward like a cannon, soaring into the sky and arriving before the Titan at once.

Felix was faster.

The Titan’s hands shot forward to grab Kaelen mid-air. Instead of dodging the large hand, Kaelen swiftly drew his two blades and charged straight into the closing grasp.

Bang.

The heavy hands closed around Kaelen, crushing him inside their grasp and making everyone’s eyes widen in shock and disbelief.

"Master?!" Lysandra screamed and was just about to shoot forward, when the hand was suddenly sliced apart from within.

Kaelen immediately leaped onto the hand before charging up towards its shoulder as he dragged his blade across the arm, tearing the thick muscles as he arrived on the shoulder and before the neck in an instant with his sword raised above his head.

"Die!"
