The Herald completely froze on the spot as they stared at Kaelen in disbelief. They never expected him to have so much insider information, which encouraged them to try to take advantage of him.

Hearing that the Herald Executioner was going to get involved sent a chill down their spine. They didn’t doubt for a moment that Kaelen was able to contact Kelsey.

Factually, it was impossible. But with enough insider information, as he’d just proved he had, it’d simply be difficult. They both knew Kaelen well enough to know that when he made such threats, he wasn’t planning on filing formal complaints. He’d simply do something so out of line, yet within the grey area, that it was neither against nor in favour of the rules, which would trigger the Herald Executioner to find him.

They knew Kaelen was capable of that and more and didn’t want to push their luck, yet they didn’t plan on going down easily.

"You and I both know that is against the rules. Exposing the—"

"And illegally recording and trading videos of a candidate is against the rules as well. Who knows if you also take secret videos of me in the bathroom and sell them to your black-market customers? I’m not here to negotiate. I need the alias and a 50% split of the profit from whatever you made by selling my information to other lobbies."

"W-What? 50%? You gotta be kidding me—"

"That’ll be 70% then. You can give it to me peacefully or with your neck on the line. But first, I’ll be needing the alias right now, and I’ll be back for my percentage later. And the only words I want to hear from you right now are you spelling it out for me."

The Herald’s expression turned cold. "You’ll regret this, Kaelen Cross."

"That’ll be 80%."

Kaelen inputted the alias into the search bar on his way back, and as soon as it came up, he sent her a friend request and a message request.

Because it was a message request, she wouldn’t receive any notification from it until she entered her inbox. But Kaelen was hoping he was the only one in her message requests, which would prompt her to check it out of curiosity.

The only problem now was that the chances of her doing that while her party was inside the dungeon were incredibly low. If anything were to happen inside the dungeon, she’d have to handle it herself through her party. Kaelen had only met two of them, one of whom was a loafer who could easily be scammed out of greed.

It was surprising that he hadn’t been hit with a report order yet.

As soon as Kaelen entered his room, he navigated through his system panel to the Lobby #111 stream, only to be surprised that it was the top video on the media platform, with a number of viewers that far surpassed anything Kaelen had seen before.

’What’s going on?’ he mused to himself with a bad feeling and promptly clicked the video.

He was hit with a barrage of comments flashing across the screen every millisecond, making it impossible to focus on the stream, so he swiftly turned them off without bothering to read any.

The first thing he saw was one person. Just one person out of all six or seven who should have been in the party. It was also someone he recognised.

It was Lucy, alone in a familiar hallway on the Third Floor and fighting a group of undead knights single-handedly, with an unlit cigarette stick stuck between her lips.

It was hard to see her face as she was moving incredibly fast, but the fact that the undead knights were moving as well told him that her eyes were tightly shut. Yet she moved so gracefully that it seemed like she had eyes all over her body.

That still didn’t explain where her teammates were. Or had they panicked and run off in different directions?

Kaelen swiped the screen, and it rolled across the Third Floor map until something caught his attention. He froze the screen and swiftly backtracked.

A lanky man was standing alone in a vast hallway filled with motionless undead knights who were all facing him. He looked extremely calm as he took a battle stance and placed his hand over the hilt of his katana, with his sword still sheathed.

Then he slowly shut his eyes, and almost immediately, every undead knight within the vicinity charged forward with incredible speed and precision.

They closed the distance and arrived before the man in an instant, their weapons moving in to strike him. It was then that the man made his move.

He didn’t dodge. He didn’t parry. He didn’t counterattack.

He barely unsheathed his katana, and his form disappeared from the spot. Several blinding sword beams later, he was standing at the other end of the hallway, still in the same stance, with his katana fully sheathed now.

Barely a second had passed. Kaelen had barely seen him move, yet the next moment, every single undead knight, which seemed to have been caught in a time loop, burst apart from clean strikes that dissected them in different places.

Without looking behind him, the lanky man straightened his back and calmly walked out the other end of the hallway.

Kaelen was dumbstruck and stared at the empty screen after the man left the frame before quickly swiping the map. He soon arrived at the familiar ballroom he’d come across.

A heated battle was taking place there, with several people clashing swords with one another. Kaelen was finally relieved that the rest of the team was together and fighting when he noticed a woman in a black gown sitting before a piano and casually playing an award-winning melody.

That was when it struck him once more.

If he remembered correctly, there was no music. The floor was completely silent. Another thing was that the undead knights in the ballroom weren’t all wearing armour but wore similar medieval outfits and looked very much alive, though paper-pale. That was the case with every single person inside the ballroom except the lady at the piano.

Kaelen’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief as he swiped the screen again. In another hallway, several undead knights were moving with precision against a lady who had a bow and a white eye patch over one eye.

Even though the eye patch only covered one eye, her other eye was shut tight. Yet she moved gracefully and pulled her bowstring with deadly precision.

Six shots, seven targets down. She didn’t miss, but she scored a bonus kill with a single shot.

At this point, it was painfully clear to Kaelen that the party hadn’t split up in a panic. They had split up to cover more ground and solo every damn hallway.

Kaelen’s jaw couldn’t drop any further when the sharpshooter made her last shot, calmly stepped out of the hall, and began heading towards the path that led to the boss room. As she moved forward, several other figures appeared around the corner and joined her. These were the same people Kaelen had just seen make the entire Third Floor look like child’s play. Without even communicating or sparing each other a glance, they casually strolled into the boss room.

Kaelen stared at the party’s dynamics in complete shock and disbelief before a wave of embarrassment washed over him. He swiftly backtracked to Emir’s inbox, deleted his message request, and unsent his friend request.
