Chapter 141: Chapter 143

Ivy’s Point of View

The room had gone completely silent after King Damon’s condition became worse, and for several moments, nobody seemed to know what else they could do because every treatment the palace physicians had tried had failed, while the King’s weak breathing made it painfully clear that there was not much time left.

Deyani was still holding her father’s hand, tears running silently down her cheeks, while Vikron stood beside the bed with his fists tightly clenched, staring at King Damon as if he could somehow force his father to keep fighting simply by refusing to accept what was happening.

I looked at the King again, then slowly lowered my eyes as I searched through everything I had learned as a shaman, trying to find even one method that could give him another chance.

Then, suddenly, I remembered something. It was not a normal treatment, and I knew immediately that most doctors would call me insane for suggesting it, but considering the condition King Damon was in, I could not afford to remain silent.

“I have another method.” Everyone in the room turned toward me at once.

Vikron eyes filled with desperate hope. “What method?”

I took a deep breath before answering. “The Spirit Bloodbane method.”

The moment those words left my mouth, several physicians immediately reacted.

“Absolutely not!!!”

“Master Lin, you cannot possibly be serious.”

“That method is far too dangerous for someone in the King’s condition.”

I remained calm as the doctors continued talking over one another, but when their voices became too loud, I raised my hand and forced them to stop.

“If you have a better method, then speak.” The room became quiet. I looked at the oldest physician among them. “You have been treating King Damon for weeks, and you already admitted that the Black Lotus poison has damaged his body so badly that his liver can barely process the toxins anymore, so tell me what treatment you want me to use instead of Spirit Bloodbane.”

The physician lowered his head. “We are still searching for another solution.”

“You have been searching while he has been dying,” I replied. “I am not saying that Spirit Bloodbane is safe, because it is not, but it is the only method I know that may be able to draw the poisoned spiritual energy out of his body before the poison completely destroys what is left of him.”

Another physician immediately shook his head. “You are asking us to allow you to perform a shamanic blood-spirit treatment on the King when his body is already this weak, and if his spiritual core rejects the process, he could die before you even finish.”

I looked directly at him. “And if we do nothing, what do you think will happen?”

He opened his mouth but could not answer.

I turned toward the others. “You all know what is going to happen, so stop pretending that refusing my method will save him.”

“Master Lin, explain the method to us.” Vikron said.

I nodded. “The Spirit Bloodbane method uses spiritual blood energy to create a controlled path through the body, allowing the shaman to pull the poisoned energy away from the patient’s core and direct it toward a prepared vessel, but because Black Lotus has been inside your father’s body for so long, the process will have to be done slowly.”

Vikron frowned. “What do you need?”

“I need a special spiritual platform, a blood channel, a carved wooden frame, and several vessels that can hold the poisoned spiritual energy without allowing it to return to the patient.”

One of the doctors scoffed. “You cannot be serious about building such a thing in the palace.”

“Build everything Master Lin needs.” Vikron instructed.

The physicians looked shocked. “Your Highness—”

Vikron turned toward them. “My father is dying, and you have already told us there is nothing else you can do, so I will not stand here and reject the only person willing to try.”

Deyani nodded firmly. “I agree with Vikron.”

Then she looked at me. “Tell us what you need, and we will get it.”

“I need your best craftsmen and carpenters, and I need them to start immediately.”

Vikron turned toward one of the servants. “Bring the best craftsmen in the kingdom to the palace.”

The servant bowed and hurried away. Within a short time, the palace became busy as skilled craftsmen and carpenters arrived with their tools, and I spent the next several hours explaining every part of the structure I needed while also drawing the measurements on a piece of paper so they could understand exactly what I wanted.

“Make this section wider,” I told one of the carpenters while pointing toward the drawing.

The spiritual energy needs enough space to pass through without becoming trapped, and if they make it too narrow, the entire channel could collapse during the treatment.

The carpenter studied my drawing carefully before nodding. “Yes, Physician Lin, we will make it wider.”

Another craftsman looked uncertain. “Physician Lin, I have never built anything like this before, so how can you be certain it will work?”

I looked at him. “I cannot be certain.” I continued, “But I know that doing nothing will definitely fail, which is why I would rather take a dangerous chance than sit beside the King’s bed and watch him die.”

The man nodded slowly and returned to work. However, not everyone in the palace was willing to accept my decision. As the hours passed, several elders began gathering near the construction area, watching the craftsmen work while whispering among themselves, and before long, one of them finally walked over to confront me.

“Physician Lin, do you understand what you are doing?”

I looked up from the tools I was checking. “Yes.”

“You are experimenting with the life of our King.”

“I am trying to save his life.” I defended.

The elder frowned. “Prince Vikron has completely lost his mind to stress. He is allowing an arrogant, nameless brat to turn the royal palace into a carpentry experiment. You are not even from this kingdom, yet you have convinced the Prince to allow you to perform a treatment that even our most experienced physicians consider dangerous.”

Before I could answer, Deyani stepped forward. “Shut your treacherous mouths, you blind old crows

By the time evening arrived, the craftsmen had managed to complete only one major tool, and even that single piece had taken the entire day because every part needed to be checked and adjusted before it could be used. I placed my hand against the carved frame, carefully checking the spiritual channels that ran through it while Dominic stood beside me, silently handing me whatever tool I needed without asking unnecessary questions.

“You have been beside me all day,” I said. “You have barely spoken.” I looked at him with a tired smile. “Are you going to tell me that this is a terrible idea?”

“No.” He said immediately the words left my mouth.

“Why not?” I asked.

“Because you already know how dangerous it is, and you still chose to do it.” He said. His answer made me pause. Dominic looked at the unfinished equipment before turning his attention back to me. “If this is the only chance King Damon has, then I will help you prepare for it.”
