Exchanging Vows: The Swapped Wife Is a Top Shaman
Chapter 142 - 144
Chapter 142: Chapter 144
Ivy’s Point of View
The next morning, I was still sitting in front of the mirror, adjusting the final parts of my disguise, when Dominic walked up behind me and placed both hands around my waist, pulling me gently against his chest.
“You did well yesterday,” he whispered, his voice warm as he looked at my reflection through the mirror. “I am proud of you.”
I smiled at him through the mirror.
“Proud of me?”
Before I could say anything else, Dominic lowered his head and kissed me, and what started as a simple kiss quickly became deeper as his arms tightened around my waist.
I laughed softly against his lips before pulling away and placing my hand against his chest. “Dominic, stop. Today is not about us, we can proceed after we save King Damon.” I replied.
He sighed dramatically. “You always know how to ruin a moment.” He jokingly complained. He smiled before pressing a quick kiss against my forehead. “Fine, Doctor Ivy. Let us save the king.”
I shook my head while hiding a smile and returned to my disguise. I carefully covered my hair, adjusted the masculine makeup around my face, and deepened my voice with my shamanic power before finally becoming Master Lin again.
When Dominic, Ama, and I entered King Damon’s bedroom, everything was already prepared exactly as I had requested, with the Spirit Bloodbane platform placed beside the bed and the spiritual vessels arranged around it.
Vikron and Deyani were already waiting. “What do you need us to do?”
I walked toward the treatment platform and checked every part before answering. “This will not be a one-time treatment. Because the Black Lotus poison has been inside his body for such a long time, we cannot remove everything at once without putting too much pressure on his body.”
“How long will it take?” Vikron asked.
“I need to treat him every other day for half a month, and you must follow my instructions throughout the entire process because even one mistake could cause his condition to become worse.” I said, and they nodded.
I began the treatment. Vikron and Deyani stayed beside their father throughout the process, helping whenever I instructed them to move his hands or control his spiritual energy, while Dominic remained close enough to assist me and Ama watched every movement of the spiritual vessels.
I carefully placed my hands over King Damon’s spiritual channels and slowly guided my energy into his body, but the moment the Spirit Bloodbane method began, I felt the Black Lotus poison resisting my spiritual force.
I immediately reduced the pressure and adjusted the flow, sending my energy around his core instead of forcing it directly through it, then slowly guided the poisoned energy toward the prepared spiritual vessel while keeping a steady flow of my own energy inside his body to prevent his spiritual core from becoming unstable.
I continued adjusting the pressure whenever his body reacted, carefully pulling out the poisoned energy little by little until his breathing became steadier and the dark color around his eyes began to fade, and the pale color of his face slowly became healthier.
Vikron stared at his father in disbelief. Deyani’s eyes immediately filled with tears.
When I finally removed my hands from the spiritual channel, I felt exhausted, but seeing the improvement in King Damon made the exhaustion worth it.
Vikron walked toward me. “Thank you.”
“Do not thank me yet,” I replied. “We still have several treatments to complete.”

Every other day, I returned to King Damon’s bedroom and repeated the treatment, slowly drawing the remaining poisoned energy from his body while making sure his spiritual core was strong enough to handle the process.
The first few sessions left him weak, but after each treatment, he became stronger. His complexion continued improving, the trembling gradually stopped, and his breathing became more stable.
By the end of the second week, something happened that none of us had expected. King Damon stood up, and took few steps.
Deyani burst into tears as she hugged him. “I thought I was going to lose you.”
King Damon gently patted her back. “You nearly did. But all thanks to Physician Lin.” He looked toward me.“ And I owe my life to Physician Lin.”
I bowed my head. “You owe me nothing, Your Majesty. I only did what I could.”
“No,” he said firmly. “You did what none of my physicians could do.”

A FEW DAYS LATER
King Damon decided to hold a banquet to celebrate his recovery and personally invited the ministers of the kingdom, along with everyone who had helped him during his treatment. The banquet hall was filled with laughter, music, food, and conversation, and although I was still dressed as Lin, I found myself enjoying the moment.
King Damon raised his cup. “Physician Lin.” I looked toward him. “You have given me a second chance at life, and tonight, I want to personally toast to you.”
He lifted his cup and moved as if he intended to drink. Before I could respond, Dominic stepped in the middle. “Your Majesty, please forgive him, but divine doctors are not supposed to drink alcohol.”
The entire table became quiet. King Damon looked at Dominic. “Is that so?”
Dominic nodded calmly. “Yes, Your Majesty. His body needs to remain free from alcohol while he continues recovering from the spiritual strain of the treatment.”
I quickly supported his words. “That is correct.”
King Damon laughed. “Very well, then. I will drink for both of us.”
The ministers laughed, and the tension disappeared. Throughout the banquet, however, I noticed Deyani kept finding reasons to speak to me.
“Master Lin, do you enjoy the food?” Deyani asked, leaning slightly toward me as she glanced at the dishes spread across the table.
“The food is good, Princess. I appreciate the thought.”
“What about the music? Surely you like the music.”
“The music is pleasant.” I said.
Deyani’s smile widened. “So you do have an opinion after all.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Of course I do.”
“Then tell me more about yourself,” she said, resting her chin lightly against her hand. “Do you often travel to different kingdoms to treat people?”
“I travel when my skills are needed,” I answered carefully, knowing I could not give her too much information without putting my real identity at risk.”
She studied me for a moment before laughing softly. “You always give such short answers whenever I ask you anything personal.”
Ama glanced at me from across the table, and I could tell she had already noticed what Deyani was doing. Dominic noticed too.
Eventually, King Damon looked between Deyani and me with a smile. “Physician Lin, may I ask you something?”
“Of course, Your Majesty.”
“Are you married?” He asked, and my heart skipped.
Deyani immediately looked at me. Dominic’s expression remained calm, but I could see the amusement in his eyes.
King Damon continued. “Do you have a wife or children waiting for you somewhere?”
“My personal life is not very interesting, Your Majesty, and I believe tonight should be about your recovery.”
The King laughed. “You are avoiding the question.”
Everyone laughed except Deyani. She remained quiet, watching me with an expression I could not understand.
Later, when the banquet was coming to an end, she approached me while Dominic and Ama were speaking to someone else.
“Physician Lin.”
I turned toward her. “Yes, Princess?”
She hesitated before smiling. “You know, when you refused to answer my father’s question earlier, I felt a little disappointed.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Disappointed? Why?”
She looked at me for a moment, and the playful smile on her face slowly disappeared as she gave me an honest answer.
“Because I have a good impression of you.”
I froze.
For a moment, I did not know what to say. Deyani lowered her eyes before looking back at me, and the sincerity in her expression made it clear that she was not simply teasing me.
“I don’t know when it happened,” she admitted quietly, “but during these past two weeks, I have started liking being around you.”
I realized that my disguise might have created a problem I had never expected.
