Noah began explaining everything that had happened.

He told her about the moment he had nearly died, how he had called out for help, how he found himself on moon, and then Goddess’s voice came to him, and how she had given him her divine power.

He trusted Akari enough to tell her the truth.

After all, she was the one person who had fought alongside him through that entire nightmare. How she put her life on line to save him. She had been with him for last six month. She took care of him.

When Noah finally finished explaining everything, Akari fell silent.

She lowered her gaze, processing his words.

"As we expected..." Her expression became grim. "That thing really was a Monarch. After telling Lionel and father, they also came to this conclusion. Now it’s confirmed, that thing was monarch."

Noah nodded.

"And the Moon Goddess helped you because she wants you to do something for her?"

"Yes."

"But she didn’t tell you what it is?" She asked.

"No. She said she’d tell me when the time comes."

Akari remained silent for several seconds.

"They might comeback again."

Noah looked at her. "You mean the Monarchs?"

"Yes."

Her expression became solemn. "We don’t know their exact goals, but whatever they intend to do, it will undoubtedly be dangerous for our world."

She sighed. "I’ll try to find whatever information I can about the Moon Goddess."

Noah also sighed. "Please do. The whole situation is making me worried."

Akari smiled gently. Then she wrapped one arm around his shoulders.

"Don’t worry. You’ll be fine. I know you will."

Noah smiled. "Yeah. I’ve got you, a strong dragon."

For a brief moment, Akari’s expression changed. Guilt flickered across her face. She lowered her eyes.

’But I wasn’t able to protect him.’ She thought.

During their battle with the Monarch of Decay, it had been Noah who had ultimately protected her and defeated that thing.

She was supposed to be the stronger one. So what was the point of all her strength if she couldn’t even protect him?

Noah noticed the change in her expression. He gave her a gentle smile.

"Hey. Don’t be sad."

Akari looked at him.

"I know what you’re thinking."

Noah’s voice softened.

"Neither of us was strong enough against a Monarch. If the Goddess hadn’t helped us, we’d both be dead."

Akari’s lips parted.

"Yes, but... I still should have been the one—"

Before she could finish, Noah leaned closer and gently kissed her cheek where the skin was still healing.

"...What?"

Akari froze. Her eyes widened in surprise.

"No-Noah!"

She immediately touched her cheek, her face becoming slightly flushed.

"How many times have I told you not to do things like that without asking?"

Noah gave her a teasing smirk.

"Well, you were looking down and feeling sad. I needed to cheer you up."

"That’s not a good way to cheer someone up."

Akari puffed out her cheeks and gave him a small pout.

Noah couldn’t help but smile. ’She’s adorable.’

He wanted shower her with kisses.

There was something strangely charming about seeing a mature woman like Akari act this cute.

Even with the darkened patches of decay still covering parts of her face, she was still beautiful in his eyes.

In fact, right now, she looked far too adorable for him to resist teasing her.

But Noah quickly pushed those thoughts aside.

"Hey, Akari."

"Hm?"

"Let’s put all of this aside for now."

He smiled. "Let’s do what we planned yesterday."

Akari’s expression became slightly confused. Then she suddenly remembered his request, as what he wanted to do. How he wanted to punish Ophelia.

Noah continued,

"Call your daughter, Ophelia. Bring her here."

Akari stared at him for a moment. Then she asked quietly, "You really want to do this?"

She asked once again. What he planned for Ophelia was dangerous. And she felt worried and nervous to do something like that to her own daughter.

"Yes." There was no hesitation in his answer.

Akari sighed softly. But what Ophelia had done to Noah was totally wrong. And Akari also wanted to give her own daughter a punishment.

"All right."

She reached into her storage ring. A moment later, a phone appeared in her hand.

Akari dialed her daughter’s number. It didn’t take long before the call was answered.

"Mother?"

"Ophelia, come to this room immediately. I need to talk to you about something important." Akari didn’t mention that Noah was with her.

"Something important? All right. I’ll be there."

After a few more words, Akari ended the call.

The moment the call ended, Noah suddenly began laughing like a villain who had just come up with an evil plan.

"Hehehehehe..."

Akari slowly turned her head toward him.

Noah’s grin widened.

"This is going to be fun." He was really excited about this.

Akari could only sigh. She already had a bad feeling about this.

’This is going to be troublesome...’

---

Five minutes later.

Knock. Knock.

Someone knocked on the door. And both of them knew who was here.

"Oh, she’s here," Noah muttered.

"Yes, she is."

Akari took a slow breath before straightening her posture. Her expression immediately became cold and strict.

"You can come inside."

At her words, the door slid open.

"Mother, it’s me."

Ophelia stepped inside.

She was dressed in a simple blouse and trousers, paired with a sturdy pair of boots. Her dark-blue hair was tied neatly into a ponytail.

The moment she saw Akari, a soft smile naturally appeared on her face.

"Mother—"

But the smile disappeared almost instantly. Her eyes shifted beside, and froze. Noah was sitting right beside Akari on the bed.

Ophelia’s expression went blank. For a moment, she simply stared at him. Then she looked at her mother who had cold expression and then back to Noah.

The young man also stared back. A strange silence filled the room.

Akari remained seated between them, already regretting agreeing to Noah’s little plan. ’This is definitely going to be troublesome.’
