Chapter 664: Chapter 631: The Thunder Tribulation Appears

CLANG! All the Cauldron Masters within the Ding Palace were crushed to the ground by this immense pressure! They were utterly paralyzed, unable to move anything but their eyes! The scene was eerily similar to what had happened in the Xuanling Empire all those years ago!

"Cough, cough..."

Suddenly, a faint cough echoed from within the seven-colored pillar of light. Lying on the Spirit Nourishing Couch, an exhausted Mu Chen slowly opened his lifeless eyes. As he gazed at the celestial phenomenon unfolding in the sky, a deep, bitter smile touched the corners of his lips.

"Is it stronger than last time? I suppose so. After all, I did just snatch Ying’Er from the Death God’s grasp, heh..."

He murmured weakly, mustering all his strength to turn his head and glance at the unconscious Wan Xian’Er and Xiao Ying’er beside him. "Xian’Er... Ying’Er... It looks like I won’t be able to keep our promise to live together."

As soon as he finished speaking, Mu Chen’s body began to levitate, rising toward the sky at an incredibly slow pace. Everyone in the Ding Palace witnessed this, and they were all struck with utter shock!

...

Meanwhile, in an unknown world beyond the Extreme Martial Continent, two men sat facing each other, suspended high in the air. A chessboard lay between them. The one playing black was an old man with a kind face. With his hands tucked into his sleeves, he watched the man opposite him with a calm and composed smile.

The other man, however, had one hand on his chin and held a white stone in the other. He stared at the board, which was almost completely dominated by black pieces, a vein throbbing wildly on his forehead.

"Tch! I’m done playing!"

Slamming the white stone onto the board, the man snorted. "I knew it. You old fossil, you never look for me unless you have bad news. You’ve completely ruined my good mood. So, spit it out. What is it?"

The old man chuckled kindly. "Oh, you. Always so impetuous. It’s no wonder you can’t find a partner."

"You’re so preachy, old fossil." The man scratched his ear nonchalantly and pursed his lips. "A partner? I have no need for something like that."

Surprisingly, the old man nodded in agreement. "Indeed, you don’t. Because you already have a descendant, don’t you?"

"Huh?" The man showed a flash of surprise, but it vanished in less than half a second. He chuckled. "It seems nothing gets past you, old fossil. It’s true, I do have a descendant."

"On the Primordial Continent?"

"On the Primordial Continent."

"Is that so? What a pity." As he spoke, the old man slowly rose, clasping his hands behind his back as he gazed down upon the world’s continent. "The bridge to the Upper Realm was completely destroyed in the King Lord’s battle. The Primordial Continent has been isolated from us for a full thirty thousand years. Thirty thousand years ago, our two sides used all the residual power from the fallen King Lords to open the gate between realms. We brought over everyone from the Primordial Continent who was qualified to ascend, and not a single person has made it up here since."

At this, the old man’s sharp gaze suddenly fixed on the younger man. He asked coolly, "Even so, do you still believe your descendant can make it up here on his own, Calamity?"

That’s right! This youthful-looking man was none other than the one who had passed the Calamity Divine Body down to Mu Chen... the Calamity Great Emperor!

Calamity was stunned for a moment, then he shrugged. "Old fossil, it’s rare to see you make an expression like that. What’s going on?"

But upon hearing Calamity’s question, the old man fell silent. After a long, long time, he finally let out a heavy sigh. "Their King... is still alive..."

"..."

Only then did Calamity’s flippant expression finally vanish. With a WHOOSH, his long, White Flame-like hair ignited, and a sharp light burst from his golden pupils. "What did you say?" he asked gravely. "How can that be? But back then...!"

The old man shook his head. "I don’t know why, but my spies over there sent back a confirmed report. Their King is indeed still alive, and her true body is right here in the Upper Realm. As for where exactly... those people have hidden her too well. We have no way of knowing."

"Hidden?" Calamity froze, confused. "Why would they hide her? If she made a move, we’d be annihilated in an instant. Unless..."

The old man smiled faintly. "So you do have your clever moments. It is, indeed, a blessing in disguise. Although their King is alive, my deductions suggest she was left with only a wisp of consciousness after her battle with our Lord. Simply clinging to life is a struggle for her, let alone posing a threat to us. I estimate that anyone in the Upper Realm right now could destroy her residual consciousness, so we are safe for the time being. But as long as we fail to find her location and utterly destroy her, she remains a ticking time bomb. The day her consciousness fully recovers will be the day we are all annihilated."

"Damn it! Damn it all!" Calamity exploded in a rage. A fiery light flashed in his golden eyes, and his long, white, scorching-flame hair instantly turned gold. As he roared, a pillar of golden flame shot miles into the air, burning a vast void into the skies of the Upper Realm! The golden flames continued to rage within that void, showing no sign of extinguishing.

After this outburst, Calamity’s rage subsided somewhat. He shouted at the old man, "If that bastard King hadn’t set a trap for our Lord back then and stripped away twenty percent of his power, how could she have ever been his match?! Their King is still around, but our Lord is gone! Are the heavens trying to destroy us?!"
