Chapter 667: Chapter 632: Calamity Takes Action (2)
"Hm?"
At that very moment, high atop a scenic mountain peak in the Upper Realm, a handsome man watched the sky. He carried three colossal Golden Swords that radiated with boundless light, and he held a wine cup in his hand. As he observed the Golden Flame Sea being dragged for tens of thousands of miles, his brows furrowed. "Calamity? Why is this so over-the-top?"
As soon as he said this, the figure of an old man instantly appeared beside the handsome man. It was the very same elder who had been playing chess with Calamity just moments before.
"Chongxiaozi?" The handsome man set down his wine cup, his expression growing solemn. "Did something happen?"
"Guizong, do you remember the reason for Calamity’s joy all those years ago?" Chongxiaozi didn’t answer directly, asking a question in return.
Jian Guizong nodded. "I may be old, but my memory is still sharp. Wasn’t it because he found an heir on the Primordial Continent who inherited the Calamity Divine? It’s truly astounding to think that two people in this world could possess such a Divine Physique at the same time! But what does that have to do with what Calamity is doing today?"
Chongxiaozi said in a cold voice, "Just now, a sign appeared from the Primordial Continent—someone is breaking through the Gate before reaching their limit. You must have seen it from here."
Jian Guizong nodded again. "Of course. Testing my memory again? The same sign appeared seven years ago, but it was concealed that time. It seems that even after hundreds of thousands of years, the Primordial Continent still produces plenty of astonishingly talented people. It’s just a shame the bridge to the Upper Realm was destroyed in the war of the King Lords."
As he said this, Jian Guizong’s expression suddenly grew complex. "You’re suddenly bringing up these two things. Don’t tell me the person breaking through the Gate is the heir who inherited the Calamity Bloodline?"
Chongxiaozi didn’t speak, merely giving a faint nod.
"This... Fine. The only person over there who can use Nine-Colored Thunder is that fellow, Tian Wei. Tsk tsk, I feel sorry for him. Of all the people to be, he just had to be the heir of the Calamity Old Ghost. No wonder that old bastard Calamity is reacting like this. It looks like they’re in for a major headache today. His title of ’Destruction and Ruin’ isn’t just for show." While speaking, Jian Guizong noticed Chongxiaozi’s grim expression. His gaze suddenly turned complex. "Don’t tell me you want a piece of the action, too?"
Chongxiaozi sighed. "Guizong, there’s something I don’t have time to explain right now. I’ll just say this: if you have questions, I’ll explain everything in detail after this is over."
"What is it?"
"The Lord is still alive."
"What?!" Jian Guizong cried out in shock. His movement was so abrupt that he knocked over the wine table in front of him!
"Now, come with me. With Calamity making such a huge scene, there’s no way those four over there will just sit back and watch."
With that, Chongxiaozi shot through the air, moving first. His speed was so extreme that, aside from the occasional flicker of a blurry figure, he was practically invisible.
Jian Guizong stared at the shattered wine cup on the ground, his face a mask of questions. But in the end, his expression shifted to one of resignation. He sighed, "Ah, well. So be it. It has been a long time since I’ve gotten any exercise. Old friends, let’s go."
The moment he finished speaking, one of the three Golden Swords on his back, which already radiated with immense light, shot forth. The Golden Sword grew as it flew, transforming in the blink of an eye into a terrifying greatsword ten thousand meters long. The greatsword appeared, hovering horizontally over the mountain peak. With his hands clasped behind his back, Jian Guizong took a single step onto the tip of the blade. His gaze sharpened as he shot off in pursuit of Chongxiaozi. The massive sword, tens of thousands of meters long, left a narrow golden trail in the sky, and in less than a moment, he had caught up to Chongxiaozi ahead.
However, neither of the two spoke. After a few dozen seconds, an immense, pitch-black cauldron suddenly appeared beside the giant Golden Sword, trailing a long plume of black smoke. Perched on the cauldron’s rim was a devilishly handsome man wrapped in black robes. Right now, though, he was glaring unhappily at Jian Guizong and Chongxiaozi. When he realized that neither of them was paying him any attention, he grew utterly exasperated. This man was none other than the Ten Thousand Poison Demon Venerable, Du Yazi.
"Hey! Hey!! I’m asking you! Why do I have to come with you guys to help that old bastard Calamity?!"
"..."
"And to help him save that bastard heir who also has the Calamity Divine!"
"..."
"Do I look like I’m insane?!"
"..."
"Fine! You’re not going to talk, is that it?! Fine by me! I’m not going!"
Just then, Jian Guizong and Chongxiaozi simultaneously turned their heads. They looked at Du Yazi with utterly indifferent expressions and said in unison, "We will relay your words to Calamity, exactly as you said them."
Hearing this, Du Yazi’s expression froze. He imagined what would happen when Calamity found out he’d called both him and his heir ’old bastards’. The corner of his mouth twitched violently. He suddenly conceded, "You win."
Jian Guizong and Chongxiaozi exchanged a smile. They both made a V-sign with their hands, earning them a string of curses from Du Yazi.
「...」
Meanwhile, Calamity had reached an area completely blocked by a transparent barrier. Staring at the obstacle before him, Calamity’s expression hardened. He formed a Sword Point with his fingers, aimed, and roared, "Flame Roar!"
The moment he spoke, the Golden Flame Sea that had been surging behind him for tens of thousands of miles shot toward the heavens. It formed a colossal tsunami, and with a terrifyingly scorching impact, it slammed into the transparent barrier!
BOOM!!
With a world-shaking boom, the transparent barrier offered no resistance at all and shattered instantly. The momentum of the Flame Wave didn’t weaken in the slightest as it surged toward a distant Thunder Realm filled with Nine-Colored Thunder! Its power was immense and unstoppable!
But just then, an equally vast, azure sea surged in from the other side, crashing violently into his Golden Flame Sea!!
