Chapter 666: Chapter 632: Calamity Strikes

"That’s not right." The old man smiled at Calamity again. "Who told you our Master is gone? Their king is still alive, so how could our Master have perished?"

Calamity froze. His hair, which had been burning with a brilliant Golden Flame, instantly faded to white and drooped limply. "What are you talking about?" he asked, bewildered.

The old man chuckled. "A while ago, I did receive a report from a scout that their king is still alive. At the time, I felt just like you do now. After all, with an enemy of that caliber, we are no match. However, just recently, the Master’s Chaos Supreme Treasure suddenly pulsed with a powerful will. I was right there when it happened, and that will delivered an astonishing piece of news: the Master... is also alive."

The corner of Calamity’s mouth twitched violently. This sudden swing from despair to elation was too much for his heart to handle. Veins pulsed on his forehead as he said with a dangerous edge, "So... you old fossil, were you just messing with me?"

The old man narrowed his eyes to slits. "How could I? Not a single word I said just now was a lie. Even though the Master is alive, our situation remains the same. If we don’t destroy that one first, we will be the ones to be annihilated."

"Why?" Calamity asked, confused.

The old man gazed down below again and sighed. "Have you forgotten the question I asked you? Do you believe your descendants can reach the Upper Realm by their own power?"

Calamity’s gaze grew bewildered once more, but then his pupils suddenly shrank. "Don’t tell me... You mean the Master!"

The old man’s gaze grew distant. He nodded. "He’s on the Primordial Continent."

"..." Calamity fell silent. But in that moment of silence, a seven-colored pillar of light suddenly erupted from the world below, shooting toward the heavens of the Upper Realm and shattering the stillness. The pillar, however, was instantly intercepted by a flash of Nine-Colored Thunder Light and suppressed.

"What is this?" The old man was startled for a moment, then chuckled. "’This is interesting. It’s just like what happened seven years ago. Only last time, it was concealed the moment it appeared. This time, it’s far more intense. It seems those fellows are resorting to their Low Level tricks again.’"

Calamity sneered. "Only those people would be bored enough to play such childish games. If I recall, the one who uses Nine-Colored Thunder is a fellow named Tian Wei, isn’t he?"

"Mm, that should be the one. What I’m more curious about, however, is who on the Primordial Continent is capable of twice defying the restrictions of the Gate." As he spoke, the old man flipped his hand over. With a WHOOSH, a massive mirror formed entirely of black crystal materialized in the sky. "Care to watch? We can see the genius from the Primordial Continent who is about to perish."

Calamity snorted. "No, I’m not interested. They’re about to perish anyway. As disgusting as those people’s methods are, this is a rule that has been upheld in the Upper Realm for eons. Breaking through the Gate before one is ready will indeed incur punishment..."

!!

The old man’s mouth fell open. With a trembling voice, he said, "What were we just saying?"

Calamity roared, "Quick, use the Sky Mirror to see who it is!"

Startled, the old man shot a beam of black light from between his eyebrows, striking the Sky Mirror. An instant later, a clear image appeared within it! There was the seven-colored pillar of light, and floating in its center was a man. His eyes were weary, but his expression was one of pure arrogance! Who else could it be but Mu Chen?! The moment Calamity saw Mu Chen, however, his frigid, golden pupils constricted. His face darkened as a voice boomed from the Sky Mirror.

"Mortal! I am Tian Wei, the god of judgment and adjudication! How dare you, an ant, break the taboo by Defying the Heavens to change your fate! Do you recognize your crime?!"

Mu Chen sneered disdainfully. "A god? I have never believed in the existence of gods! Besides, what difference would it make to the outcome if I did recognize my crime?"

Hearing Mu Chen’s provocative words, Tian Wei seemed completely unaffected. "It would make no difference at all!" he continued.

Mu Chen’s smile grew colder. "Then why ask such a pointless question!"

"Audacious!! Ignorant mortal! You dare blaspheme my Divine Power! In the name of the god of judgment and adjudication, I sentence you to death!"

CRACK!

With a sharp sound, a crack spread across the Sky Mirror. The image within it vanished. The old man, who had been watching with Divine Entry, froze. Just as he turned to ask Calamity what had happened, he felt an incredibly violent and terrifying power come crashing down over everything.

"Calamity, you..."

However, he never finished the sentence. Calamity slowly lifted his sullen face. A pair of utterly emotionless golden pupils met the old man’s gaze. As the old man watched, those eyes were swiftly engulfed by tendrils of black aura. In the blink of an eye, the whites of his eyes turned pitch-black, leaving only his golden pupils!

"TIAN! WEI! YOU HAVE SOME SERIOUS NERVE!"

FWOOM!!

With Calamity’s roar, his White Flame hair instantly transformed into Golden Flame. But it didn’t stop there. His shoulders, wrists, the spot between his eyebrows, and his entire lower body exploded into a dense, golden Fire Flame!

The next moment, without waiting for any questions from the old man, Calamity’s figure shot into the air. Space-time rippled violently. A sea of Golden Flame stretching for tens of thousands of miles surged forward with him, rushing toward the source of the colored light pillar! Everywhere it passed was like the coming of Purgatory! Space-time itself was completely annihilated!!

At the sight of this, everyone in the Upper Realm who witnessed it immediately retreated to their residences, tightly sealing the doors and not daring to step out. They all prayed that it wasn’t someone in their own territory who had provoked this great deity. Otherwise, not a single blade of grass would be left standing for millions of miles in every direction!
