Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2529: Not Used to Holding Women

  • Next Chapter

When Jasmine Yale was standing in the rain, she didn’t feel cold, but now wrapped in Will Caddel’s jacket, which was still warm from his body, she suddenly felt quite chilly.

She pressed her lips together tightly and remained silent.

Will Caddel helped her put on some clothes and took the umbrella from her hand, only then noticing that she was barefoot!

"You... Jasmine, what am I supposed to say to you, coming out barefoot like there’s no other way. No matter what happens, you have to take care of your health. You have to remember: besides health, nothing else is worth worrying over."

Will Caddel’s voice was somewhat elusive in the rain.

Yet, every word sank deep into Jasmine’s heart.

She nodded.

Will Caddel was at his wit’s end, even a little flustered, having never taken care of such an unruly woman before.

Helplessly, he handed the umbrella back to Jasmine: "Hold this, I’ll carry you."

"No, CEO Caddel, I..."

Before Jasmine could finish her sentence, Will had already lifted her in his arms and was rushing under the eaves.

Jasmine almost fell, quickly wrapping her arms around Will’s neck to hold onto him, preventing herself from falling.

Will probably hadn’t carried a woman like this before, it was all quite unfamiliar to him.

Jasmine was drenched, accidentally soaking Will’s shirt and jacket too.

The rain was so heavy that the umbrella was useless, and soon, Will was drenched, his hair and shirt completely soaked. The cold rainwater streamed down his prominent nose, shimmering under the lights.

Jasmine, cradled in his arms, had a perfect view of his face.

When they reached the shelter of the eaves, Will didn’t stop walking but instead continued towards the rest area.

There were many suites here, and Will pulled out a room card from the pocket of his trousers.

With a beep, the door opened.

He carried Jasmine to the sofa, not even taking a moment for himself, and urged her, "Quickly take a hot shower, don’t catch a cold. A cold and fever are no small matters."

He turned around and grabbed a clean towel from the bathroom.

Swiftly, he wiped the rain dripping down her head, his thin lips pressed tightly, his eyes deep with concern.

"Achoo"—Jasmine sneezed.

"You’re really reckless." Will squatted beside the sofa, patiently drying her hair. Though his actions were not skilled, they were gentle. "Are you listening to me? If you are, go take a shower. I’ll find some clothes for you."

"I’m sorry, CEO Caddel, I’m really sorry for causing trouble." Jasmine felt guilty, too embarrassed to lift her head and look at him.

"Trouble? If you get sick, that’s trouble. There’s still a bidding meeting tomorrow, don’t forget."

"I haven’t forgotten, I remember. I was just thinking of sneaking home and calling to apologize later, I never expected you to come out..."

"If I hadn’t come out, would you have continued running in the rain?"

"Probably." Jasmine smiled a little.

"And you find it funny." Will’s face turned stern.

His gaze rested on Jasmine’s face, where he saw drifting, unfocused eyes, wandering aimlessly.

The marks on her neck were still evident. Will didn’t know what had happened, but he avoided looking at her neck, sparing her the embarrassment.

"Your hands and feet are ice-cold." Will said lightly, "Go take a shower now."

After saying this, he stood up and fetched her a pair of slippers.

Jasmine chuckled carelessly, sitting up from the sofa to put on the slippers.
