Chapter 2550: Their Last Photo Together

Jasmine Yale held the photo farther away, and Little Clementine stretched her neck forward to take a closer look.

The little one’s expression was adorable, and Jasmine Yale helplessly curved her lips into a smile.

Many times, she couldn’t bear to part with Little Clementine.

"Still looking? Little Clementine, you were in mommy’s tummy back then!" Jasmine Yale pointed to herself, "Look, this is you. Even if I tell you, you wouldn’t understand. But having you is the happiest thing in my life. Even though I scold you, no one can replace your place in mommy’s heart. As for this person, it’s best not to see him again. He has a bad temper, drinks, smokes, and criticizes people, you wouldn’t like him. Mommy will find a daddy who loves you, so you grow up cherished."

Jasmine Yale’s voice turned gentle again.

All her anger dissipated.

What’s there to argue with a few-month-old child, especially when it’s her own flesh and blood.

Little Clementine’s big eyes were still fixated on the photo, as if it was some fascinating object.

She reached out, wanting to grab it.

Jasmine Yale didn’t let her, and she got anxious.

Jasmine Yale had to give it to her, but as soon as Little Clementine let go, the photo fell to the ground.

Like she’d done something wrong, Little Clementine scratched her head and looked innocently at Jasmine Yale.

Jasmine Yale laughed, bent down, and picked it up: "Hold it tight, if it falls again, I won’t let you see it."

Little Clementine clutched the photo and refused to let go, so Jasmine Yale held her, pacing on the balcony.

Night fell, the sun’s light gradually faded on the horizon, and streetlights began to illuminate one after another. The wind blew, causing the curtains to rustle, making the evening breeze cool and comfortable, no need for air conditioning.

This kind of wind carried the fragrance of flowers and grass, and a gentle breath was all it took to feel refreshed.

Jasmine Yale stood with Little Clementine by the window.

Little Clementine enjoyed gazing outside, so Jasmine stayed with her a little longer.

Cakago’s wind was different from elsewhere, she almost got used to Cakago’s summer.

Suddenly, a gust of wind blew.

Little Clementine’s tiny hand failed to hold on tight, and the photo floated gently out, carried by the evening breeze, flying out the window.

In that instant, Little Clementine scratched her head and craned her neck to look outside.

Jasmine Yale was initially startled, then she lowered her head, watching the photo sway and slowly descend, drifting in the air like a snowflake, lingering for a long time.

"Woo woo," Little Clementine made indistinct sounds, a rush of anxiety from doing something wrong.

Jasmine Yale’s eyes remained fixed on the window.

Though the floor wasn’t high, the wind was strong.

The photo first landed on the ground, then, with a gust, took flight.

Gradually, it disappeared from view, not knowing where it landed.

In the night, Jasmine Yale’s eyes held a faint yet deep light, that dim glow fluctuating without focus.

The photo flew away, vanished.

The last photograph of her and him.

Outside, the wind continued to blow, rising in bursts, stirring up dust and fallen leaves.

Summer nights weren’t desolate, yet carried a cool chill.

Jasmine Yale’s eyes showed a slightly dazed expression that gradually turned into a hazy mist, dispersing in the boundless night, endlessly.

Her heart was silent, hearing no echo of beating.

The entire world seemed quiet, only the vast sky and boundless stars remained.

The wind continued to blow, emitting a low, whimpering sound.

The transparent window reflected Jasmine Yale’s silhouette, lonely and solitary, slim and fragile.
