Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2556: You Have a Daughter Now, Are You Happy?
"Her due date is in more than three months, are you very concerned about her?" Sylvan Cheney looked at Jasmine Yale.
"This isn’t concern, just a reminder that you should go back to be with your wife and child. Is she having a boy or a girl?"
"A girl."
"Ha, congratulations to CEO Cheney for getting exactly what you wanted. You’ve always wanted a daughter, and now you have one. Are you happy? Are you joyful? Are you content?" Jasmine Yale slightly raised her head, her eyes carrying a layer of misty and dreamy sheen.
"Are you interviewing me about my feelings? Of course, I’m happy."
"Indeed... no one is unhappy to become a father, indeed..." Jasmine Yale murmured, her voice gradually blurring, "Why aren’t you with her... why are you here..."
"I just came to Cakago on a business trip, and happened to pass by here."
"Then you should leave, this place isn’t suitable for someone of your status."
"It’s rare to meet, is there nothing you want to say to me?" Sylvan Cheney looked at her, his gaze fixed on her face.
"There’s nothing to say, if there were... it may be that I hope we never have another chance to meet. I wish you a bright future, a fulfilling family, and a thriving child. Is my blessing sincere enough?"
"Thank you," he said lightly.
"CEO Cheney, will you accompany Erin Janus in the delivery room or wait outside until your child is born?"
"How do you want me to answer that?"
"Forget it, you don’t need to answer me, I was just asking casually." Jasmine Yale didn’t want an answer anymore; she didn’t even know why she asked such a meaningless question.
How could he not be by Erin Janus’s side, welcoming their daughter together?
"Is there anything else you want to ask?" Sylvan Cheney said.
"No, I don’t care about you that much, nor am I interested in your whereabouts," Jasmine Yale said, turning her head away, her back to Sylvan Cheney.
She looked up at the stars in the sky.
The stars twinkled, and the breeze gently turned.
The starry sky in her eyes gradually blurred, from an initial sparkle to later mistiness, her nose tingled with an indescribable feeling rising from her chest.
Turning her back, she no longer had to look directly into Sylvan Cheney’s eyes, as she strode forward.
After a few steps, she happened to encounter Butler Santana coming down holding Little Clementine.
Jasmine Yale was surprised, collecting her emotions, gathering the look in her eyes as she walked over quickly: "Butler Santana, is Little Clementine awake? Why are you carrying her down?"
"The little one was quite restless after waking up, kept scratching at the window, so I brought her down for a walk. After all, she really loves the outside world."
"Let’s go up, the air tonight isn’t good, it’s not suitable to stay out."
"Is that so? Then I’ll have to take her back up." Butler Santana didn’t notice anything unusual, nor did he see Sylvan Cheney.
"Let me hold her. Little Clementine loves it most when mommy holds her," Jasmine Yale lovingly looked at her daughter, her lips curving into a smile.
"Alright, alright." Butler Santana handed Little Clementine over to Jasmine Yale.
They went upstairs, not going outside.
In Little Clementine’s arms was a small bunny. She looked at Jasmine Yale from time to time, occasionally stretching her little head towards the distance.
The elevator arrived, and Jasmine Yale held her as they returned home.
The night was clear; there was not much haze or dust, the stars in the sky were bright, and the night was peaceful and quiet.
"Little Clementine, should mommy play blocks with you?" Jasmine Yale coaxed.
