Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2566: A Cold, Deep Voice of Anger
Justin Usama accompanied Jasmine Yale for a stroll, but since Jasmine had to go home to take care of Little Clementine, he dropped her off at the neighborhood shortly.
Jasmine Yale was going upstairs with her bag when she received a phone call from Will Caddel.
Walking as she answered the call: "CEO Caddel."
"Pack up, you’re going on a business trip to Old York tomorrow."
"Okay, do I need to book a plane ticket and hotel?"
"I’ve already had someone take care of these trivial matters. It’s related to securities trading; bring the relevant materials from last time. The trip will last about five days, depending on progress. Old York is cooling down these days, so bring more clothes."
"Understood, I’ll head back to the office now to organize the documents."
"Alright, leave from the company early tomorrow morning."
"Got it, I understand."
The elevator arrived just in time.
Jasmine Yale decided not to go home, opting to take the elevator back down and catch a taxi to the company.
She was accustomed to this kind of rhythm, even quite liked it; just last week she had been in Sinkapore accompanying Will Caddel on a business trip.
Will Caddel is the supervisor she’s worked with the longest in her career so far, and he’s also the most patient and good-tempered boss.
Being busy and dashing through every corner of the city can be very fulfilling, very liberating.
She enjoyed this bustling, fulfilling feeling.
It didn’t take long for her to reach the company, heading straight for the office.
To her surprise, through a door, she heard arguing from the Vice President’s office doorway.
It was Will Caddel’s cold, profound anger.
"How many times have I said this? I have my own discretion—no one can decide what I want to do!"
"Stop arranging such meetings for me; I’m not interested, nor do I have the time!"
"Alright, I don’t want to say much, haven’t you forced me to do things I’m unwilling to before? I’m not going to fuss with you, nor is there anything to fuss about!"
"I have a handle on this matter; you don’t need to call me every so often!"
Will Caddel’s voice gradually lowered, carrying a note of helplessness.
Jasmine Yale was taken aback.
She didn’t have the habit of eavesdropping, it was merely a coincidence she’d approached.
To avoid awkwardness, she quickly stepped into her office, closed the door, and began organizing documents.
She didn’t know who Will Caddel was arguing with, but he sounded very angry—the kind of anger that was palpable.
For someone to make Will Caddel lose his temper, they must have hit a nerve.
Jasmine knew Will Caddel was easygoing, yet he was like a hermit crab, presenting only a gentle, approachable exterior while his true self lay hidden beneath.
What Will Caddel’s true self was like, she wasn’t sure.
Because he never talked about his personal life or past experiences with her; and naturally, she never asked.
Jasmine lowered her head, organizing documents, printing all securities materials and bundling them into a file.
Halfway through, she heard the neighboring office door close; presumably, Will Caddel had left.
He likely still didn’t know she was at ZR.
Jasmine packed everything up, placed it into her briefcase, and prepared for the trip with Will Caddel the next day.
Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly noticed a small box tucked in the corner of a drawer.
Jasmine was puzzled—what’s this? She couldn’t recall having such a small box.
Curiously, she pulled open the drawer and opened the box.
As soon as she did, she froze—inside was a preserved yellow rose, a kind of flower made through special techniques so it would never wilt.
