Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2616: Wedding Sweets from the Two Presidents

  • Next Chapter

That night, Jasmine Yale was so excited that she couldn’t sleep. Whenever she was awake, she would get up and sit by the bed, watching Little Clementine in the crib.

Little Clementine was sleeping soundly, just like Jasmine did as a child, completely unaware of anything once asleep.

Jasmine Yale’s lips curved upward, and her eyes were sparkling brightly.

Her Little Clementine could talk now, calling for mom.

Beneath the hazy night and soft light, she sat by the bed for a long time.

She’s been so busy recently, hardly having time for Little Clementine, and hasn’t paid attention to anything outside of ZR.

It was her colleagues who would send out red packets or messages in the group chat, which she’d occasionally glance at.

A bit thirsty, she got up to pour herself a glass of plain water, leaning against the bed, drinking while scrolling through the group chat messages.

The ZR colleagues were discussing the happenings of the board meeting today. Some were even saying that Will Caddel might be reassigned from Cakago Headquarters by President Caddel, with President Caddel’s second son taking over.

Jasmine Yale froze and looked again closely.

The news wasn’t definite, but she felt it wasn’t entirely baseless.

Plus, a few months ago, Will Caddel did ask her if she would leave with him if he were to go.

Could it be... President Caddel is really planning to reassign Will Caddel?

Will Caddel has diligently poured his heart and soul into ZR, and now he’s just being reassigned at a word? That’s so unfair!

She heard that President Caddel’s second son is an idle offshoot who graduated from college just a year ago, loafed around, lost more than thirty million in Acau gambling and was sent back for training in Kong Hong by President Caddel for half a year.

Ha, an idle offshoot, how can he compare to Will Caddel?

Even though Will Caddel is a child born out of wedlock, he is still President Caddel’s own son, so why must he be reassigned?

Jasmine Yale doesn’t believe in these rumors and thinks that President Caddel wouldn’t be so muddle-headed.

There wasn’t much gossip about it in the chat, probably fearing that upper management would notice.

Jasmine Yale shut down the group chat and inadvertently clicked into the former James Branch colleagues’ chat.

Since she left the job, Flora Sutton and Kade Yuvan left too. Now, an American man manages the company, and reports say the company’s performance is poor. About half of the old employees have left, and every graduation season they start recruiting, yet they fail to retain talent.

The James Group Cakago Branch’s business shrank significantly, and some projects that were previously underway were put on hold; the headquarters clearly wasn’t concerned about the branch’s survival as this company was originally established for Erin Janus to enjoy.

It makes sense; the headquarters is prospering dramatically, with the financial district project progressing smoothly. Why would they care about the branch’s fate?

The amusement park project at the branch was stalled, resulting in a hefty breach penalty to the entertainment city.

The increasingly chaotic branch, Jasmine Yale feels relieved that Kade Yuvan left.

A previously vibrant and flourishing company has become lifeless, how much room for growth can there be in such a company?

She casually flicked through more group chat messages.

A female colleague inquired about when CEO Janus would have a baby.

Erin Janus didn’t reply, and Sylvan Cheney hadn’t said a word in the chat all year; only a few warm colleagues said, "It’s soon, I guess."

The following messages were all "Congratulations" "Congratulations" with red packets flying everywhere.

Someone else asked, "Why haven’t we received wedding candy from the two presidents."

Immediately, someone replied, "The two presidents had a travel wedding and didn’t organize a ceremony. There’s no custom of distributing candy in UT."

Jasmine Yale closed the chat, uninterested in these things.

She took another sip of water, still pondering ZR’s affairs.
