Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2617: Something Must Have Happened
If Will Caddel leaves, she’s definitely going to follow him to a new city, planning to settle down there.
She just doesn’t know what kind of arrangements Will Caddel will make.
Jasmine Yale finished the water in her cup and turned to glance at Little Clementine in the crib.
The little one is still young and can go anywhere, but when they grow older, it won’t be so easy.
As these thoughts ran through her mind, sleepiness crept in. Jasmine turned off the bedside lamp and went back to sleep.
...
During those days, Will Caddel worked as usual, holding meetings as usual.
He said nothing, and Jasmine didn’t mention anything either, acting like she knew nothing.
Gossip can’t be fully trusted.
She believed that Will Caddel had the capability to handle these matters. Even if he was reassigned, with his skills, starting a new company wouldn’t be impossible, would it?
On this morning, Jasmine fixed a cup of coffee for herself and also made one for Will Caddel.
When she reached the door of the Deputy General Manager’s office, she knocked.
Will Caddel happened to be smoking.
When he saw her enter, he conscientiously stubbed out his cigarette.
"CEO Caddel, I made you some coffee."
"Thanks, just put it down."
"CEO Caddel, autumn has arrived. The weather is crisp and comfortable. Why don’t we organize a group activity?"
"Sure, you can arrange it. What kind of group activity do you like?"
"Hiking? Autumn hiking is good for health and can help clear the mind."
Will Caddel neither agreed nor disagreed, nodding after a while: "Go ahead and arrange it. It’s a small matter, no need to report it to me."
"Will you go, CEO Caddel? If you go, many young women in the group will participate enthusiastically. If you don’t go, it won’t be as lively," Jasmine said with a smile.
Will Caddel also smiled, his fingers lightly resting on the table: "I’m busy lately."
"You can’t even spare a day?"
"No, you take them. I think with you there, many young single men in the group will be very enthusiastic too."
"CEO Caddel, you’re joking with me again," Jasmine laughed. "But if you don’t go, it defeats the purpose of me organizing the activity. Maybe let’s forget it."
She originally wanted Will Caddel to unwind a bit. Lately, he’d been weighed down with worries, especially after that board meeting. He hardly smiled and had been smoking more often.
He’s not the kind of person who’s a chain smoker or emotionally driven.
Something must have happened.
Will Caddel didn’t refute Jasmine, just looked at the coffee in the cup and smiled: "It’s up to you. You take charge of these things."
"Alright, I’ll head back next door. CEO Caddel, remember to drink your coffee; there’s another meeting in the afternoon."
"Okay."
The aroma of coffee filled the air, permeating every molecule.
Jasmine walked away in her high heels, returning to her own office.
Outside, the sun shone brightly, bathing the city in light. Jasmine, having some spare time, sipped her cappuccino as she looked at the bustling world outside the window.
She had been in Cakago for several years.
When she first arrived, she really liked this city and once considered settling down here, bringing her Sweet Kitty along.
Now, thinking back, that period of time feels hazy, like a dream.
It really felt like a dream.
She took a sip of coffee, her gaze falling on the street outside.
If she were to leave here, a part of her would be reluctant, especially cherishing the time she spent studying at the University of Cakago.
Back then, she had her Sweet Kitty and a job at the bakery.
Jasmine sighed.
