Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2619: A Figure Flashes By
The people from Oasis were indeed extremely difficult to deal with, and it was about an hour before they reluctantly showed any intention of signing.
Jasmine Yale was overwhelmed by their persistence and got up to go to the restroom.
This hotel was very luxurious, with ambiguous dim yellow lighting in the corridors, exuding a romantic atmosphere everywhere.
Jasmine Yale finally found some peace.
She touched up her makeup in the restroom and took a bottle of medicine from her bag.
Her work had been quite busy lately, and she occasionally suffered from headaches. Just now, the people from Oasis had given her a headache, and she had no choice but to take a pill to calm herself.
After taking the medicine, she looked at herself in the mirror; her makeup was clean, and her clothing was elegant. She tidied the small stray hairs by her ear before heading back to the conference hall with her bag.
The corridor by the restroom was rather dark, and her high heels echoed with each step she took.
Thud, thud, thud...
As she was about to walk out of the corridor, she caught a glimpse of a shadow flashing by in the corner of her eye.
Jasmine Yale stopped in her tracks and looked around.
But she saw nothing; she was the only person here.
There was no sound, only the pitter-patter of rain outside.
She chuckled awkwardly, thinking it might just be a guest from a room or perhaps she was seeing things; there was no one here.
She returned to the meeting room.
Will Caddel was still discussing terms with the others.
This wasn’t something she needed to worry about, so she listened attentively from the side.
Will Caddel had been negotiating with them for more than half an hour. Jasmine Yale felt a bit hungry but kept it to herself.
This partner was indeed particularly difficult, with very stringent conditions. If not for their solid technology, ZR wouldn’t choose to collaborate with them.
Patience, patience—finally, the other side agreed to sign the contract.
Jasmine Yale quickly prepared the documents and seal, fearing they might change their minds again.
The managers were full of praise for Jasmine Yale, continuously complimenting her to Will Caddel, saying she was not only beautiful but also competent, and had the intention of being poached.
Will Caddel merely smiled without speaking.
Jasmine Yale watched as those managers signed the documents, and she breathed a sigh of relief, giving Will Caddel a look that said, these folks are really tough to deal with.
Will Caddel glanced at her, slightly curling the corners of his lips.
"Everyone, the dinner is all arranged. Please do me the honor of joining for a meal later," Will Caddel said.
"CEO Caddel, it would be rude not to accept. You’ll have to have a few drinks with us later."
"Of course."
Will Caddel chatted with them, while Jasmine Yale went to arrange the dinner and dishes. She didn’t know what those people liked to eat; she simply asked the hotel to deliver all the specialty dishes and arranged for excellent red wine.
Once everything was in place, she invited Will Caddel and the partners.
They took their seats.
She and Will Caddel were the first to toast, drinking one glass of red wine after another.
"Secretary Yale holds her liquor well. CEO Caddel, where did you find a secretary like this? I can’t seem to find one," someone teased.
"Such a good secretary must have fallen from the sky," Will Caddel laughed.
Someone else joked, "CEO Caddel, if I remember correctly, you’re still single, right? How come, with such a beautiful and capable secretary by your side, you’re not tempted?"
Jasmine Yale looked a bit embarrassed; only the partners had the guts to ask such questions.
She didn’t mind the teasing; she just thought Will Caddel might mind.
"I’m single, but that doesn’t mean my secretary is, does it?" Will Caddel replied calmly with a smile.
The crowd was surprised, "Turns out the beauty is already taken."
