Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2620: You’re Not Missing CEO Caddel, Are You?

  • Next Chapter

"Can’t tell, Secretary Yale. But, is your boyfriend even better than CEO Caddel? With a diamond bachelor like CEO Caddel around, haven’t you thought about switching your affections?" Everyone teased, enjoying the spectacle.

Jasmine Yale smiled, "My daughter is one year old."

The crowd was even more surprised, eyes wide, "Oh, I see."

Will Caddel turned to look at Jasmine Yale, the curve of his lips unchanged, though a deeper gleam appeared in his eyes.

The group stopped talking about Jasmine Yale and instead began eating and drinking heartily, chatting idly about all sorts of things.

"When I went diving in the Pacofic Ocean last time, I saw a crab this big, with patterns on its shell, like some special mark from Ancient Igypt. Too bad I didn’t take a picture, otherwise, I could have studied it."

"That’s nothing, I’ve seen a turtle this big once," someone gestured, "That turtle looked like it was hundreds of years old, anyway, it was the biggest turtle I’ve ever seen, but what species it was is up for research."

Jasmine Yale sipped her red wine while listening to their tall tales.

Most of these people were in their forties or fifties, well experienced, and of course, loved to brag.

Jasmine Yale listened casually, occasionally toasting them.

Will Caddel didn’t participate much in these nonsensical discussions; he preferred to ask Jasmine Yale if Little Clementine had put on weight.

Jasmine Yale had no reservations in front of Will Caddel and would tell him that Little Clementine was teething and starting to talk.

Under the lights, a flush spread across Will Caddel’s face, as he realized he had drunk a bit too much.

After a few rounds of drinks, the group kept chattering away.

Jasmine Yale yawned, no longer interested in the conversation, and was only accompanying the Oasis people. The headache pills didn’t relieve her headache, probably because she had drunk quite a bit.

In the middle of it, Will Caddel received a call and left the room.

Jasmine Yale stayed to drink with a few others.

"Secretary Yale, with CEO Caddel away, you have to accompany us for a few drinks, no excuses."

Jasmine Yale laughed, "I haven’t made any excuses tonight, and CEO Caddel didn’t shield me from drinking either."

"So, Secretary Yale, are you drinking first, or should we?"

"ZR is the host, I’ll have a drink first." Jasmine Yale picked up her wine glass, stood up, and downed the wine in one go.

"Secretary Yale is straightforward, each of us will have a drink." The few managers from Oasis also stood up to drink with Jasmine Yale.

Though these people liked to brag and were a bit troublesome, they were decent and didn’t take advantage of Will Caddel’s absence to harass or offend Jasmine Yale.

Jasmine Yale drank with them, and Will Caddel still hadn’t returned.

She waited for Will Caddel, her fingers lightly tapping on the table, somewhat absent-minded.

The managers were still chatting away and didn’t notice Jasmine Yale’s expression. They were in high spirits with drinking and even suggested going to karaoke.

"Secretary Yale, let’s go sing tonight, we at Oasis will choose the place."

"No, my daughter wakes easily on rainy nights, I need to go home to soothe her." Jasmine declined.

"Is it still raining outside?" Someone stood up and glanced out, "It’s still coming down heavily, looks like we’re not going anywhere."

"CEO Caddel hasn’t returned from his call yet, Secretary Yale seems a bit distracted; could it be that you’re missing CEO Caddel?"

Jasmine Yale laughed, "A little worried."

"Worrying and missing are two different things."
