Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2621: A Strange Number

The crowd still wanted to tease Jasmine Yale, but Jasmine just smiled without taking it to heart, yet she felt a bit uneasy.

Will Caddel had gone out for so long, why hadn’t he returned? It was still raining outside, and it was getting late.

At close to eleven-thirty, Jasmine Yale suggested ending the dinner party.

"Everyone, I’m sorry, but our CEO has some matters to attend to and can’t come. Let me escort you downstairs," Jasmine Yale stood up.

The other guests, somewhat tipsy and indifferent, responded, "Alright, Secretary Yale escorting us is just as good."

Jasmine Yale walked them all the way down to the hotel’s entrance, watching as their cars slowly drove away.

Rain fell heavily outside, droplets splatting onto the ground; looking out, everything was shrouded in a foggy mist, even the building opposite was indistinct.

An autumn rain brings a chill; once this rain stops, a cold wave follows.

Leaves rustled against the ground, producing a "swoosh" sound, and a few fell at Jasmine Yale’s feet.

The wind lifted the loose strands of hair by her ear as she quietly tilted her head, gazing at the curtain-like rain. A few drops fell on her face, prompting her to step back with an awkward smile.

The Oasis people had already left, and she remained standing in the wind, attempting to sober up a bit.

Her head hurt and she felt quite uncomfortable.

Luckily, such engagements were infrequent, and Will Caddel wouldn’t bring her along every time.

Sighing deeply, Jasmine glanced at the sky, then turned back toward the hotel.

She returned to the private room to gather her belongings.

She couldn’t understand why Will Caddel hadn’t come back yet.

After packing her bag, just as she was about to call Will Caddel, suddenly, her phone vibrated.

Hmm? An unfamiliar number.

"Hello," Jasmine Yale rubbed her temple, feeling somewhat distressed.

"Jasmine Yale?"

"Yes, I am Jasmine Yale. Who is this?"

"I am the secretary to President Caddel. Come to private room 8299—President Caddel wants to see you."

President Caddel? Jasmine Yale paused.

She had never seen President Caddel before.

"May I ask what President Caddel wants with me?" Jasmine Yale inquired.

"I don’t know."

"Alright, I’ll head over now. Is President Caddel at this hotel?"

"Yes." The response on the other end was standard and formulaic, rigid and cold.

After hanging up, Jasmine Yale slung her bag over her shoulder and set out to find private room 8299.

Could this be something related to Will Caddel? Why is President Caddel here?

She heard President Caddel was quite strict, generally residing in the old mansion in Kong Hong, rarely coming to Cakago, and even when he did, he wouldn’t manage company matters.

Previously, ZR was managed by President Caddel’s old subordinate, but after he retired, it was handed over to Will Caddel.

At that time, President Caddel’s second son hadn’t graduated from university yet.

Private room 8299.

Jasmine Yale raised her hand and knocked on the door.

A male secretary dressed in a black suit opened the door and scrutinized her briefly: "Are you Jasmine Yale?"

"Yes, I’m Vice CEO Caddel’s secretary, Jasmine Yale."

She peered past this person into the room, where the lighting was dim, filled with a strong smell of smoke and alcohol, occasionally punctuated by the sound of women’s laughter.

Nothing was clear, let alone President Caddel.

"Come in." The man, unsmiling, led Jasmine Yale inside.

The private room was large, and the smell of smoke was strong.

"Cough cough," Jasmine Yale lightly coughed twice, furrowing her eyebrows, squinting through the smoke toward the sofa.

She saw a middle-aged man on the center sofa wearing a white shirt and gold-framed glasses, accompanied by several women smoking.

As he raised his head, his gaze met Jasmine Yale’s.
