Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2644: Jasmine Yale, Don’t Degrade Yourself
She stared at him, and he looked back at her.
In the intertwining gaze, there was an indescribable silence.
The heat from the porridge dissipated, cooling bit by bit.
After a long while, she looked at him and said with a smile, "Actually, if you hadn’t come last night, I might have left with Navy Caddel today. He’s quite responsible and willing to marry me and give me a status... When I think about it carefully, it’s actually not bad. Once I go to Kong Hong, I can be a rich wife, and all that hard work and diligence can go to hell. I can rely on my looks to be second to none. I was probably too foolish last night to realize the benefits of it. Now that I think about it, I regret it. Being able to climb up using the only thing I have is a skill in itself, don’t you think?"
With a "bang," Sylvan Cheney suddenly slammed the bowl on the table, tossing the spoon into it!
"Jasmine Yale, are you really sinking to the level of selling your charm?" His sharp gaze fixed on her.
"Isn’t it good, Mr. Cheney of James Group?"
"Jasmine Yale, don’t degrade yourself for nothing. If I find out, you won’t have it easy."
"Ha..." She smirked, "You just can’t stand seeing me do well. I’m going to be a rich wife, and now you’re unhappy? Is your wife unhappy? Do you wish I never get married?"
"Aren’t you and Justin Usama seeing each other? Hmm?"
"Yes."
"Then keep your whimsical thoughts to yourself and live your life properly." His face held a subtle anger, every word was a warning.
Jasmine Yale didn’t speak, staring into his eyes for a long time, moving her lips, and then withdrawing her gaze.
She turned her head away from Sylvan Cheney, looking instead at the bright autumn sunshine outside the window.
The sunlight was good. After all, the world was still a beautiful place.
The sky was blue, a flock of birds flew across the vast sky, and white clouds spread to the horizon, like endless cotton candy, floating aimlessly with no end in sight.
She gazed outside the window, the bright light reflected in her pupils, her eyes still full of luster and goodness.
She had stayed at ZR for more than half a year; no matter what, she did right by herself and her intentions.
As for the future, she wouldn’t step into the financial circle again.
Sylvan Cheney stared at her long black hair for a long time, eventually standing up with annoyance and walking out of the hospital room.
He walked while feeling the cigarette and lighter in his pants pocket.
Jasmine Yale sat alone in the hospital room, the shallow scent of dates wafting from the porridge bowl. She sat just like that, gazing at the sky outside for a very long time.
After a long time, she finally withdrew her gaze, lowered her head, and opened her phone.
She didn’t want to take a single call, she just wanted to see Little Clementine.
She opened the album, clicked on the photos of Little Clementine, looking at them one by one, the curvature at the corner of her mouth gradually lifting. Only her baby, born after ten months of pregnancy, could make her heart leap.
She sat by the bed, quietly looking at the photos of Little Clementine, never getting tired of them.
She missed the baby.
The porridge at the bedside slowly cooled, losing its warmth.
By the time Sylvan Cheney came back, his body was filled with the smell of tobacco, his eyes also showing red-blooded veins.
He stood by the bedside, looking down at her from above, speaking slowly, "Where do you want to go today?"
Jasmine Yale smelled the tobacco on him, sniffed her nose, and put away her phone, "I don’t want to go anywhere, I’ll stay in the hospital for a few more days."
"The hospital isn’t a park, what’s so good about staying here? Don’t you dislike hospitals?"
