Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2654: Do You Like Me?
As the little train started again, Little Clementine was overjoyed, grinning widely and showing her bright, baby teeth.
Sylvan Cheney held her tightly, afraid she would fall.
"Car... car..." she mumbled indistinctly.
Jasmine Yale did not look at Sylvan Cheney, just silently watched the people coming and going in the mall.
Little Clementine was especially obedient, noticing Jasmine Yale hadn’t played with her, she placed her little hand on Jasmine’s hand.
The warm little hand had warmth, making Jasmine’s heart tremble, and she turned to look at Little Clementine.
Little Clementine was looking at her with clean, bright eyes, softening Jasmine’s heart.
The little train ran forward, woooo woooo...
After a long while, Jasmine Yale finally spoke, glancing at Sylvan Cheney from the corner of her eye, her voice calm: "Sylvan Cheney, what do you take me for?"
"Is there any need to ask this question?"
"There’s no need, but I want to know."
"Well... probably an ex?"
An ex... what an ex, Jasmine Yale laughed mockingly.
She didn’t ask him any more questions, occasionally lowering her head to play with Little Clementine.
Having grown familiar with Sylvan Cheney, Little Clementine began to act spoiled, hugging Sylvan’s neck, rubbing back and forth in his neck.
Sylvan Cheney was tickled by her rubbing, and laughed: "Is it fun?"
Seeing that he wasn’t angry, Little Clementine rubbed harder, seemingly very fond of his scent.
"Do you like me?" Sylvan Cheney asked.
Little Clementine couldn’t speak, so he taught her: "Say like, hmm?"
Little Clementine couldn’t learn.
He patiently taught over and over again: "Say like, li-ke."
Little Clementine looked at him foolishly.
But Jasmine Yale couldn’t stand it anymore and hysterically said: "Sylvan Cheney, that’s enough!"
"Li..." Little Clementine babbled.
"Hmm, then? Li-ke." Sylvan Cheney did not heed Jasmine Yale’s advice.
"Li..." Little Clementine could still only say one word, looking aggrieved.
Sylvan Cheney laughed even more, his eyes filled with affection: "Very clever, take your time, it’s okay."
Little Clementine stopped speaking and obediently sat on Sylvan’s lap.
The places the little train passed had pretty wallpaper and toys, Little Clementine stared at those things eagerly.
Sylvan Cheney calmly said: "Your daughter is quite smart, don’t let her be too naive later, the world isn’t as peaceful as you imagine, there are many bad people."
"Is that so?" Jasmine Yale suddenly turned around and took Little Clementine out of his embrace: "Little Clementine, don’t cling to strangers in the future, the world isn’t so peaceful, there are many bad people."
Sylvan Cheney was first stunned, then helplessly smiled.
She always had the knack for jesting, leaving him unable to refute even a single sentence.
Little Clementine was having fun watching without knowing why her mother took her from uncle’s embrace.
"Your daughter is a budding beauty, will be very pretty in the future." he said quietly, "You’re quite fortunate to have a little angel."
"No need to envy me, you’ll have many little angels in the future too, unless you think Erin Janus’s daughter won’t be prettier or more obedient than Little Clementine."
"What do you plan to do in the future?"
"It’s none of your business."
"When do you plan to marry Justin Usama?"
"What’s it to you?" She looked at him coldly.
"Right, it’s none of my concern, forget I asked."
The little train soon stopped again, Little Clementine was still holding onto the steering wheel, unwilling to let go.
Jasmine Yale pried her fingers open: "Baby, let’s go home."
