Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2658: Jasmine Yale, You’re Pretty Impressive

  • Next Chapter

Justin Usama, after all, is a scholar. Although he has a bit of a pedantic side, when faced with someone like Sylvan Cheney, he immediately backs down.

He is also a pragmatic person. Despite having good feelings for Jasmine Yale, it’s not enough to risk his life, especially since he has a decent job and doesn’t worry about not having a wife.

"You—you let go, we can talk." Justin Usama’s eyes flickered.

"Who do you want to talk to? Me or Jasmine Yale?" Sylvan Cheney said, indifferent.

"I’ll talk to Jasmine Yale, don’t interfere! This is between me and her!"

Jasmine Yale, holding Little Clementine, was no longer interested in discussing the matter, and said indifferently: "Justin Usama, let’s end it here. You and I shouldn’t meet again in the future. We’ve known each other for a while, let’s leave each other with a good impression."

"You deceived my feelings. You were still dating me while having a boyfriend. Don’t you have moral issues?"

"I’ll say it again, I didn’t have a boyfriend when I was with you. I had already broken up with him." Jasmine Yale glanced at Sylvan Cheney, "Even now, I’m not with him."

"You’re not with him, yet you’re walking around the mall like family? Do you think I’m blind? Your daughter is so close to him, she can’t be a stranger! If she’d only seen him once or twice, she would be shy and scared, just like she was when she met me. So, you’re lying."

"My daughter is just naturally friendly, she probably just didn’t like you when she met you. As it turns out, my daughter’s judgment is better than mine." Jasmine Yale said with a smile, her tone slightly teasing.

Little Clementine was a bit impatient, squirming in Jasmine Yale’s arms with a frown on her little face.

People around started to watch, whispering.

"Get lost!" Sylvan Cheney let go of his hand and pushed him away.

Justin Usama had intended to argue a few more points with Jasmine Yale, but his wrist hurt and he feared Sylvan Cheney’s gaze, feeling intimidated.

He really wasn’t a match for Sylvan Cheney.

If it was just a confrontation with Jasmine Yale, he wouldn’t be afraid, but with Sylvan Cheney there, he didn’t dare act rashly.

He cast an unpleasant glance at both Jasmine Yale and Sylvan Cheney, finally leaving with the words "Bad luck for me."

Gradually, he left and disappeared from sight.

Jasmine Yale sighed and comforted Little Clementine, "It’s okay, darling, it’s over."

Little Clementine had indeed been scared, but with Jasmine Yale’s hand on her head, she quickly cheered up.

The crowd slowly dispersed, and the surroundings returned to normal.

Jasmine Yale said nothing, but Sylvan Cheney kept staring at her, his sharp gaze carrying a hint of sarcasm, a sneer at the corner of his lips.

His tall figure stood by Jasmine Yale’s side as he looked at her for a while. "Is this your choice of partner? I thought it was some promising young man, Jasmine Yale, you’re quite something."

"You should know, my taste has always been bad, otherwise I wouldn’t be in this predicament." She ignored his mocking tone.

"If he hadn’t come and made a scene today, were you planning to get engaged or married to him?"

"What’s wrong with that? He’s not bad at heart, just has a shadow from being betrayed by his ex-wife, that’s all. He said it rightly; he has a good job, a clean family background, he’s a quality prospect."

"Someone with a shadow in their heart is scary, sensitive and suspicious. Even if you marry him, you won’t stand his suspicions. There are plenty of people with good jobs and family backgrounds; you don’t need to push yourself into a pit of fire."
