Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2662: Sylvan Cheney Really Is Capable
Kieran Janus had a beaming smile on his face, his expression filled with affection as he looked at his daughter.
Erin Janus happily bid him farewell: "Dad, Evan and I are heading to the hospital first!"
"Alright, alright."
With the driver behind the wheel, Sylvan Cheney and Erin Janus sat in the backseat.
Throughout the ride, Sylvan Cheney received several calls from clients, keeping him quite busy. He was not in the best condition, his eyes showing fatigue, burdened by a headache, and hadn’t even had the chance to eat breakfast.
Every time he made a call, he would close his eyes and lean back against the seat, taking a moment’s rest.
Erin Janus, on the other hand, was chattering incessantly: "Evan, Mrs. Jeremiah from Rich World came to our house last night and brought Little Sweetie a set of dresses and pieces of precious jewelry. Do you think their family wants something from ours?"
"There’s a bid going on, but their quality control isn’t up to par, so I didn’t plan on going through with it."
"Oh, you handle it as you see fit." Erin didn’t quite understand these matters, "And by the way, a few days ago I went to a pastry shop and had a dessert that was fantastic. The shop is in the financial district, could you bring me some when you can? I’ll send you a photo and you could buy it accordingly?"
"Alright." Sylvan, extremely tired, was not too willing to speak.
For a moment, the car was filled with Erin’s voice.
Hospital.
Erin Janus was a VIP customer, enjoying a premium prenatal check-up with dedicated doctors and nurses accompanying her.
She was already familiar with this group, chatting non-stop during the check-up.
"Miss Alice, you are so fortunate. We’ve heard your husband is capable and impressive, not only managing the company well, but he’s also quite handsome."
"Indeed, Miss Alice, every time we mention you, we are full of envy. Just imagine how beautiful your daughter will turn out."
"Isn’t that a given? Miss Alice is so good-looking, her husband handsome, and the daughter has mixed genes, she’ll definitely be a Little Princess."
Erin laughed: "It’s alright. But my husband truly treats me well; he’s very busy yet still brings me to the hospital. Look, he’s practically accompanied me to every check-up."
"Yes, we all see this, which is why we envy you."
"Miss Alice, you should have a son next, so you’ll have both a daughter and a son."
Erin chatted lively with the women, occasionally flaunting her bracelets and the necklace around her neck.
Her jewelry was mostly limited edition pieces, priceless and highly coveted by the women around.
Sylvan Cheney wasn’t much for chatting with the women, spending most of his time either sitting aside managing emails or making phone calls with clients.
Erin was quite the socialite; while the check-up didn’t take long, chatting occupied much of the time.
She wasn’t very career-focused; most of her time was spent discussing beauty, fashion, and clothes. Her magazine had long been handed off for others to run, and she didn’t meddle in company affairs at all.
With a capable husband like Sylvan, why would she need to manage a company? Living a life of leisure as a wealthy lady was just right.
Besides, the immense wealth of the James Group was enough to last her through three lifetimes.
Indeed, Sylvan Cheney was competent, and neither she nor her father had misjudged him.
This man was truly blessed by the heavens, and it’s only fitting that such a heavenly prince matches with a Little Princess like her for the happiest family.
Erin occasionally glanced at Sylvan, her eyes filled with contentment, happiness, and possessiveness.
She touched her belly, her face brimming with smiles.
In any case, she was very satisfied with her current state.
