Fated to My Billionaire Husband
Chapter 2947: He Didn't Do Well Enough
After she finished speaking, she headed upstairs.
Just then, Li’s mother came out of the kitchen carrying a plate of sliced fruit.
“Mingxi, you’re back so soon.” She smiled and asked at her back.
“Mm.” Li Mingxi responded, but she didn’t look back.
Xiao Lang stared at her back, his eyes darkening, feeling that she was in a bad mood. Had he done something to upset her?
Xiao Lang carefully thought back and couldn’t figure out what he’d done wrong.
Or maybe he’d been neglecting her a bit these last two days, so she was unhappy?
Thinking this, Xiao Lang couldn’t sit still anymore.
Li’s mother invited him to have some fruit. He ate two pieces, then stood up and said, “Grandma, Mom, I need to talk to Mingxi about something. I’ll go up first.”
“Go, go!” Li’s mother and the others had absolutely no objections.
Now that he and Li Mingxi were already husband and wife, there was nothing to avoid.
Xiao Lang smiled and headed upstairs.
Just as Li Mingxi finished changing, she heard a knock on the door. She didn’t even need to ask to know it had to be Xiao Lang.
Li Mingxi ignored him. She leaned against the headboard, picked up a book, and flipped through it casually.
Xiao Lang knocked unhurriedly, but no one came to open the door, so he had no choice but to open it himself and go in.
Li Mingxi hadn’t locked the door, so he went in easily, and then he saw Li Mingxi lounging against the headboard, reading.
So she’d done it on purpose, refusing to open the door for him. If he’d known, he would’ve just come in earlier.
Xiao Lang closed the door behind him and walked over to sit beside her.
“Wifey, what’s up with you today?” Xiao Lang stared at her and asked softly.
“Nothing.” Li Mingxi kept flipping through the book and didn’t even lift her head to look at him.
Xiao Lang became even more certain that she was mad at him.
The wedding hadn’t even been held yet and they were already having conflicts—that was not good.
Xiao Lang lifted her legs and laid them across his lap, and, trying to please her, started kneading them. “Did you get tired from handing out the invitations today? You should’ve let me handle a small thing like that. You’ve already been exhausted these past two days; you should be at home resting.”
“I’m not tired. Stop kneading.” Li Mingxi looked up at him faintly.
“I’m giving you a massage. So, does it feel good?”
Xiao Lang kneaded her calf, then moved on to her thigh, and his hands went higher and higher.
Li Mingxi slapped his hand away. “I told you to stop!”
Xiao Lang quickly pulled his hand back but still held onto her legs. “Then tell me why you’re angry. Did I do something wrong?”
“You’ve done plenty well, really.” Though that’s what Li Mingxi said, her tone made it sound like the exact opposite.
Xiao Lang’s attitude in admitting fault was excellent. “I still haven’t done well enough.”
“No, you’ve already done well enough.”
“Still not good enough.”
“Fine, then tell me—where exactly have you not done well?”
Xiao Lang broke into a sweat. So she really did think he hadn’t done enough. Good thing he’d insisted on admitting fault and hadn’t actually claimed he was doing well enough.
Li Mingxi crossed her arms, waiting for his answer.
Xiao Lang thought for a moment, then said seriously, “When it comes to the wedding, there are a lot of details I haven’t thought through carefully. For example, the wedding photos—I completely forgot about that. And when it came to sending out invitations, I didn’t go with you either. I didn’t do well enough.”
“…” Li Mingxi said, “Besides those?”
“Besides those, there’s also…” Xiao Lang racked his brains, and then finally remembered that he’d stood her up yesterday.
“Yesterday I said I’d come see you in the evening, but it got too late and I didn’t come. Next time I’ll definitely keep my word and do what I say.”
