Chapter 3094 - Raising the Dead

Su Yi is involved with True Progenitor Shi Yin!? Hong Ling’s eyes flashed with murderous intent.

Back in the early days of the Primordial Era, the Primordial Divine Court and the Chaos Fiends had been irreconcilable enemies!

The innumerable skeletons buried in the Sea of Fate were a testament to their grudge.

Hong Ling pondered briefly, then said, “Founder, experts of Three Purities Temple appeared during the battle in the Sea of Fate. Given the circumstances, how could Su Yi possibly have survived?”

Sovereign Venerate Yi sighed from beneath the stele. “You still don’t understand, you silly girl? The change that just swept through this world proves that Su Yi has allies at least as powerful as those experts of Three Purities Temple!”

Hong Ling blinked, then quickly understood. She was beside herself with shame. It’s true. If the experts of Three Purities Temple had taken Su Yi down with ease, it would never have had such an enormous impact on the River of Destiny!

Without any further hesitation, Hong Ling recounted everything she’d learned about Su Yi.

Reincarnation? The Epoch Spark? The Book of Destiny? And he’s the reincarnation of the Big Boss of Sword Sovereign City?

After learning all of these secrets at once, Sovereign Venerate Yi couldn’t help but sink into silence. The legendary Sovereign Among Sovereigns could no longer remain calm.

Hong Ling then told him about the Struggle for Heavenly Fate, the battle in the Divine Wandering Continent, and so on. She included every detail, no matter how trivial it seemed.

When she finished her explanation, she realized that the founder had sunk into a long, uncharacteristic silence.

There was no telling what he was thinking about.

This unusual behavior left Hong Ling deeply stunned. The founder was so bold that he’d dared disregard even the terrifying experts of the Far Shore of Destiny during the Primordial Era, so why had learning about Su Yi shaken him so badly?

Time slipped by until suddenly, Sovereign Venerate Yi burst into laughter. “Excellent! Just in time for the grand struggle to come!”

His laughter was full of valiance and anticipation.

Hong Ling looked bewildered. What is the founder thinking? What could he possibly be so happy about?

And here she’d thought that learning of Su Yi’s exploits had put pressure on him. Looking back on it now, it seemed that wasn’t the case at all.

Sovereign Venerate Yi laughed in high spirits. “These turbulent times are exactly what I’ve been longing for. Having an opponent like him... makes me all the more eager!

“Was there anyone like him in the early days of the Primordial Era? There wasn’t!

“A storm is gathering on the Far Shore, and the River of Destiny will soon face widespread strife and upheaval. Such times are worth returning for!”

Sovereign Venerate Yi’s eyes lit up, blazing like twin suns. “If Su Yi really is connected to True Progenitor Shi Yin, he too must die. If not, I’ll out-compete him in our mutual pursuit of the Grand Dao!”

Hong Ling’s heart churned as she looked at the founder in a daze. She hadn’t anticipated that learning about Su Yi would excite him this much!

A long time passed before Sovereign Venerate Yi’s smile faded. He could sense Hong Ling’s confusion, so he explained, “Back then, a grandmaster of Three Purities Temple visited and offered to guide me to the Far Shore of Destiny, but I refused. Do you know why?”

Hong Ling shook her head.

“In the early days of the Primordial Era, I was the greatest beneath the heavens, the Sovereign Among Sovereigns. How could I possibly lower myself before another?” Sovereign Venerate Yi said calmly. “Moreover, my Grand Dao was complete in and of itself. What need was there for me to join another orthodoxy and receive another’s guidance?

“It might be arrogant to say this, but had I wanted to go to the Far Shore of Destiny, I wouldn’t have needed another’s guidance! I could have ‘ridden over the waves’ and reached the Far Shore myself! What I sought, Three Purities Temple could not give me!”

His contemptuous pride was on full display. He’d once stood at the very pinnacle of the Primordial Era, and he’d already caught a glimpse of the path to the Far Shore. He walked an unparalleled path all his own.

What need did he have to seek external help?

Moreover, he knew that even if he made rapid progress after joining Three Purities Temple, he’d spend the rest of his life serving another. No matter how lofty his accomplishments in the Grand Dao, they’d ultimately just benefit Three Purities Temple!

Hong Ling’s heart swelled just listening to him. This was her first time realizing just how grand the founder’s spirit really was.

It was to the point that he disdained joining the Three Purities Temple!

“Back then, time and fortune were not in my favor, so I couldn’t realize my ambitions. Ultimately, I wound up trapped here, and I’ve been here ever since,” murmured Sovereign Venerate Yi. “But... things are different now...”

He couldn’t help but throw back his head and burst into laughter. “Indeed, when the time is right, heaven and earth themselves are on your side! I’ve waited countless years, all for this day!”

His voice rumbled like thunder throughout the surrounding area, stirring up countless waves.

Hong Ling couldn’t help but ask, “Founder, what should I do next? Do you have any instructions?”

“Wasn’t Heavenly Sovereign E interested in working with the Primordial Divine Court?” Sovereign Venerate Yi said coolly. “Tell him that we refuse to become anyone’s weapon! Our power is not for him to use, unless... he submits to our rule!”

Hong Ling blinked. How could Heavenly Sovereign E possibly agree to such a request? He’s backed by Three Purities Temple. How could he possibly choose to serve us?

But Hong Ling knew better than to ask questions. These were the founder’s orders. All she had to do was obey!

“It doesn’t matter if he agrees or not,” said Sovereign Venerate Yi. He flicked his finger, and an arc of light shot forth and condensed into a jade medallion. It landed in front of Hong Ling. “Take this to the Hibernating Insects Pure Land, then go to the place known as the Grassy Hut of Morning and leave the medallion there.

The Hibernating Insects Pure Land was one of the Six Pure Lands of the Eternal Heavens Domain. It was a remote place ruled by the Eternal Lightning Court, one of the Heavenly Sovereign factions.

In truth, each of the Six Pure Lands was under the rule of a different Heavenly Sovereign faction.

As for the Grassy Hut of Morning? Hong Ling had never heard of such a place. But if the founder had ordered her to find it, that unquestionably meant its origins weren’t simple!

Hong Ling set off to carry out her orders shortly after.

Sovereign Venerate Yi slowly stretched out his arms and said, “If I learn the Dao in the morning, I can die in the evening without regrets. My opportunity didn’t arrive in the Primordial Era, but now... the Grand Dao is close at hand!”

He slowly turned his head, then gazed at the other River-Stabilizing Steles in silence.

The story of how he’d wound up trapped here involved the nine steles.

......

The storm in the Sea of Fate shook the entire Eternal Heavens Domain. There was no telling how many cultivators had entered the Sea of Fate in search of treasure, but most died brutal deaths. Only a handful were lucky enough to survive.

When the curtain fell on the battle in the Sea of Fate, none remained who were bold enough to venture in lightly.

Ten days later, Su Yi awoke from meditation aboard a treasure ship in the Sea of Fate. He promptly took out the Book of Destiny and inserted a wisp of heart power into the Abyss of Ceaseless Destiny on the second page.

As soon as his heart power condensed into an avatar, the old monsters trapped here surrounded him. Their expressions were full of loathing, fury, and murderous intent.

“How dare you come back, you bastard!”

“Su Yi! The Sovereign Preceptor signed a Lifeblood Contract and agreed to serve you. Why get him killed?”

“You really can’t trust Destiny’s Chosen! You never even considered coexisting with the Negative Karma Destiny Demons!”

They clearly knew that Mo Hanyi had been killed, and they blamed Su Yi for his death!

Su Yi didn’t explain. No matter what he said now, they wouldn’t believe him.

“Why not speak? You’re bold enough to have the Sovereign Preceptor killed, but not brave enough to admit it?” One of the imprisoned Destiny Demons actually lunged at Su Yi in fury.

Bang!

A wisp of the abyss’s source energy surged forth, surrounding Su Yi. Su Yi just stood there, but the old monster was sent flying on impact.

But that wasn’t enough to intimidate him. On the contrary, it stirred the other old monsters into action. All of them looked intent on fighting to the bitter end. It was obvious how highly they valued Mo Hanyi.

Su Yi frowned, then said softly, “Enough!”

The entire Abyss of Ceaseless Destiny shook, and chains of the natural order condensed to suppress the infuriated old monsters.

“Mo Hanyi isn’t dead!” Su Yi said coldly, “If you don’t want him back, I can just leave, and you can continue your tantrum without me.”

The old monsters froze, then exchanged glances. All of them were uncertain.

“Truly?” one of them said through gnashed teeth.

In the past, Su Yi would have just left. There was no way he would have paid any attention to the old-timers imprisoned in the book.

But they were willing to go to their deaths to avenge Mo Hanyi. Su Yi naturally wouldn’t hold that against them. On the contrary, their willingness to fight for Mo Hanyi improved Su Yi’s opinion of them.

“Just watch for now,” Su Yi said, lifting a finger into the air.

Suddenly, blood-red light illuminated the endless darkness of the abyss, condensed into a blood-red contract, and landed in Su Yi’s palm.

This was the Lifeblood Contract Mo Hanyi had signed with his life force and given to Su Yi when he submitted.

Su Yi repeatedly tapped the air. The old monsters could clearly sense a boundless Destiny Soul power surging from the Abyss of Ceaseless Destiny and pouring into the Lifeblood Contract like a river.

The Lifeblood Contract lit up, its light slowly intensifying. In the end, it caught ablaze.

Life force surged within the Lifeblood Contract, scattering a dreamlike rain of light. The light gradually condensed, outlining an indistinct figure.

This was none other than Mo Hanyi!

The old monsters’ eyes widened, their faces full of astonishment and excitement. The Sovereign Preceptor really isn’t dead?

Time slipped by. On board the treasure ship, Su Yi’s face paled with each passing moment. He was rapidly exhausting his secret heart power.

Mo Hanyi’s figure solidified within the Abyss of Ceaseless Destiny.

Finally, about ten minutes later, Mo Hanyi shook as if awakening from a deep sleep and opened his eyes.

Su Yi let out a long sigh. If he hadn’t spent the past two weeks restoring his cultivation base to peak condition, he wouldn’t have been able to sustain this process. He hadn’t anticipated how difficult it would be to “bring Mo Hanyi back to life.”

Fortunately, he’d succeeded in the end.

Sudden enlightenment washed over him, and he thought of the third divine ability in the second section of the Spirit Platform Chapter—Lamplit Replenishment!
