Qiao Suluo froze in Tushan Feishang’s embrace. She stared at him with wide eyes, looking as if she wanted to say something but hesitated.

Tushan Feishang had only been guessing and hadn’t dared to be certain. But seeing Qiao Suluo’s reaction and looking down into her eyes, he instantly understood.

His heart rate spiked. He hugged her tightly and murmured, “Wife, you’re not her.” He looked at her with pleasant surprise and excitement. She really wasn’t her. Not the woman from before. This time, he spoke with absolute certainty.

Qiao Suluo nodded. “Yes, I’m not her.”

Tushan Feishang’s heartstrings trembled at the revelation. He lowered his head and gently kissed her brow. “Wife, I’m truly, incredibly happy. Happy that you aren’t her.”

He had deeply despised the previous her. When he later fell for his wife, he had doubted himself for a long time. But feelings were feelings, and they were beyond his control. He had always been terrified that his wife might one day revert to her old self. Every time that thought crossed his mind, he was filled with anxiety and unease. Now, he didn’t have to worry anymore. It turned out they had never been the same person to begin with.

“So, the one who came looking for me at the Nanfeng Building later was you, wife, right?” The previous woman would never have done such a thing.

“It was me,” Qiao Suluo nodded.

“I’m sorry. If I had known it was you, I would have treated you well back then instead of scaring you.

“I even choked you. It was my fault.

“You can hit me to vent your anger, wife.”

As he spoke, Tushan Feishang grabbed Qiao Suluo’s hand and moved to strike himself with it.

Now that he understood everything, an overwhelming sense of guilt and self-blame washed over him.

Qiao Suluo pressed his hand down. “Don’t. It’s really nothing.

“It was my fault for not telling you.

“But even if I had, you wouldn’t have believed me back then.”

That was true. No matter what Qiao Suluo said at the time, Tushan Feishang would have just assumed it was a new trick of hers and wouldn’t have believed a word. Fortunately, he had eventually discovered his wife’s goodness.

“What about the other her?”

“Her soul has completely scattered,” Qiao Suluo said. “On the night I crossed over, she had already been struck to death by lightning, which is why I ended up in this body. Are you afraid?”

Tushan Feishang shook his head. “No. You are my wife. Why would I be afraid?

“I’m only glad that you came and saved me.”

Otherwise, he didn’t even dare to imagine what state he would be in now. He would probably still be suffering with a severed tail. But now, his tail had been completely healed by his wife, and he had even awakened a Fire Ability. This was something he couldn’t have even dreamed of before.

“It doesn’t matter what kind of demon or spirit you are, wife.” He had his heart set on her.

Qiao Suluo smiled. “Don’t worry, I’m not some monster or demon. I won’t hurt any of you.”

As for other matters like her origins, she couldn’t tell them just yet. Otherwise, the moment she opened her mouth, her voice would be automatically censored. The system had said that she couldn’t tell them now, but she would be able to when the time was right.

Seeing her expression, Tushan Feishang guessed there were things she didn’t want to disclose, so he didn’t pry. No wonder his wife had so many secrets.

Tushan Feishang was likely very excited, as he clung to Qiao Suluo for a long time that night. Bai Qianluo and Chu Moyuan didn’t compete with him for her attention. However, after Tushan Feishang fell asleep, Qiao Suluo quietly got up to prepare many things.

Early the next morning, when Tushan Feishang was about to set off, Qiao Suluo handed him a bundle. “Take these with you.”

“What is this?”

“There are many self-defense medicines, as well as Detoxification Elixirs, Life-saving Elixirs, and more. Everything is clearly labeled on the bottles. There’s also some jerky you can snack on when you’re hungry.”

Whether it was the food or the medicine, she had made them all using Spiritual Spring Water, which doubled their efficacy. She had also redeemed a lot of jerky and biscuits from the Space Mall for Tushan Feishang’s convenience.

Deeply moved, Tushan Feishang felt a profound warmth in his heart; no one had ever treated him this well. He looked at Bai Qianluo and Chu Moyuan and said, “Take good care of our wife. I will definitely come back.”

“Don’t worry.” Their love for their wife was no less than Tushan Feishang’s.

After Tushan Feishang left, Qiao Suluo busied herself with the eatery. She added century egg wontons to her menu. Many regular customers didn’t know what century egg wontons were, but trusting Qiao Suluo’s culinary skills, they all bought some to try. Once they tasted them, everyone fell in love with the flavor. Whenever they came to eat, they would undoubtedly order the century egg wontons.

“Manager Qiao, the century egg wontons you make are truly delicious.”

“Indeed, I really don’t know what these century eggs are made of, but they taste amazing in wontons.”

“We’ve never even had wontons like this in the prefectural capital.”

“They’re so good! It’s just a shame they’re always sold out if we come late.”

All the customers were full of praise for the century egg wontons.

Qiao Suluo smiled and explained, “The wontons at our stall are made with fresh ingredients every day. We only prepare a set amount, so once they’re gone, they’re gone.” Hearing this, everyone felt even more reassured eating her food.

The eatery’s business boomed more than ever. Sometimes, there were so many customers that Qiao Suluo and the others couldn’t handle the rush. Thus, she planned to hire some help.

The system suddenly spoke up. “Host, don’t forget about Yue Hanzheng. You still need to win him over.”

Recently, Qiao Suluo had been so busy with the eatery and taking care of Da Bao and Second Treasure that she had almost forgotten about Yue Hanzheng. Fortunately, Da Bao and Second Treasure were now able to move around on their own. They were also very well-behaved and sensible, not requiring much of her attention. In the Beast World, beast cubs grew up fast.

One day, Qiao Suluo made some wontons using century eggs and egg yolks and delivered them to the courtyard where Gu Songlan lived. Dongqing was incredibly enthusiastic when he saw her arrive.

“Miss Qiao, you haven’t been here in a long time! We’ve all missed you.

“But our Young Master said you must be very busy taking care of the two cubs, so he told me not to bother you.

“Our Young Valley Master prepared a lot of medicinal herbs for you, though. He said you would probably like them.”

With that, Dongqing brought out some dried and processed medicinal herbs from nearby to show her.

Qiao Suluo was stunned. She did indeed need medicinal herbs, but she hadn’t expected Gu Songlan to prepare them for her. He had previously saved Chu Moyuan and even prescribed medicine to help her condition her body. She was actually quite grateful to him and hadn’t known how to repay the favor. It seemed she could just cook more meals to bring over in the future.

“Where is your Young Valley Master?”

“He returned to Medicine King Valley. He’s not here.”

“Then you guys can eat these wontons. I’ll make more for your Young Master later.”

“I won’t hold back then. Thank you, Miss Qiao.”

Qiao Suluo had actually come here to check on Yue Hanzheng’s legs as well. However, before she could ask anything, Yue Hanzheng wheeled himself out in his chair.

He looked at Qiao Suluo with a somewhat complex gaze. After a moment of hesitation, he finally opened his mouth and asked, “Are… are you feeling better?”

Hearing this, Qiao Suluo revealed a look of surprise.

“Host, do you know what this means?” the system said excitedly. “It means Yue Hanzheng cares about you!”
