Tang Mo had fallen asleep last night with these thoughts on his mind. Although he tried his best to convince himself otherwise, he still had a wonderful dream about growing up, becoming two meters tall, and taking down Wu Sheng.

Tang Mo recalled the dream and felt great about it. He looked at Su Li’s slightly conflicted expression and shook his head.

’See, it takes a man to understand another man!’

’Mom still doesn’t understand men well enough.’

Wu Sheng never missed out on things like this, not to mention they had just agreed yesterday to get married by the end of the year.

’At a time like this, Wu Sheng would crawl here if he had to, just to show how dedicated he is!’

Tang Mo sighed like a little adult and finally couldn’t help but speak up.

"Mom, why don’t you try opening the door now and see if Uncle is here?"

Su Li had a strange feeling that there was something off about the look in Tang Mo’s eyes. Still, she stopped arguing with him and tentatively opened the room’s door.

The doorway... was empty. No familiar figure was there.

For a moment, Su Li couldn’t quite describe the feeling in her heart. She turned to Tang Mo and gave him a look that said, "See?"

Su Li had expected to see Tang Mo look defeated and helpless, but instead, she saw him smile at something behind her.

"I told you..." he mumbled.

"What?" Su Li didn’t hear him clearly.

"See for yourself," Tang Mo said, jutting his chin.

Su Li’s heart skipped a beat. She turned back around and saw Wu Sheng standing behind her.

"What a coincidence. Are you here to welcome me?"

Su Li blinked. "You... When did you get here?"

"He got here right after you turned around," Tang Mo answered coolly. "I told you he’d definitely come today."

"Of course I had to come." Wu Sheng didn’t catch the faint, hidden meaning in Tang Mo’s tone and asked Su Li with concern.

"Does your foot hurt? Why are you standing? Didn’t I tell you not to walk if you can avoid it?"

Su Li: "...It’s much better today. I can just put weight on my heel."

She’d been hearing Tang Mo nag her from last night until this morning, and now she had to listen to Wu Sheng nagging her too. It was a tiny bit annoying.

"Even if it’s much better, you can’t be careless," Wu Sheng said, holding Su Li’s arm. "You should go back inside. I’ll take Little Point to school."

Wu Sheng checked the time and explained, "I’m a little late because... I went to get a date picked."

Su Li was surprised. "Get a date picked?"

’It couldn’t be for the wedding, could it? How could he be so fast? We only talked about it last night. What kind of date would he be picking this early in the morning?’

Wu Sheng’s answer confirmed her suspicions.

"What other date could it be? It’s for our wedding, of course. My mom had someone look it up, and they said the eighteenth of the twelfth lunar month is the best day. Su Li, let’s set it for that day."

Wu Sheng couldn’t wait to share the news with Su Li.

Su Li: "....The eighteenth of the twelfth lunar month?"

"Yeah. Is that okay with you? Do you have any objections?"

She had no objection to the date, but...

"Are you saying you had this date picked this morning? Before you came here?"

Wu Sheng nodded as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "Of course. It was just picked this morning, like a freshly steamed bun straight from the oven."

And he had rushed over to find Su Li while holding this "steaming hot bun."

Su Li and Tang Mo exchanged a silent glance. They suddenly felt a bit of sympathy for the person who’d picked the date.

"It’s so early. The person who picks the dates probably wasn’t even awake yet, were they? Did you go wake them up?" Su Li asked tentatively.

Wu Sheng shook his head. "No, don’t the elders usually handle this kind of thing? I asked my mom, and then she went to find them."

After speaking, Wu Sheng finally realized what Su Li was getting at.

Now that she mentioned it, he remembered that most of the people in the alley weren’t up yet. He had heard his mom’s loud knocking on the door quite clearly.

Wu Sheng explained, feeling a little guilty.

"Although Mom did wake them up by knocking on their door, they’re elderly, so they should be... they should be fine. They seem to... not need much sleep."

Su Li nodded with difficulty. "I see."

Wu Sheng rubbed his nose and checked the time. "Okay, let’s talk about this when I get back. I have to take Little Point to school first, or he’ll be late."

At this reminder, Su Li glanced at her watch and immediately hurried them. "Oh, right. Go on, hurry up."

"Okay. You go inside and sit down. I’ll buy breakfast and bring it back in a bit. Don’t keep walking around and moving about."

Wu Sheng gave her one last worried instruction before he left. Su Li waved her hand in resignation. "I know."

After driving out of the residential complex for five minutes, a radiant and cheerful Wu Sheng finally, belatedly, noticed a problem—Little Point hadn’t said a word.

He found it strange and glanced over at Tang Mo. "Little Point, why aren’t you talking?"

Tang Mo didn’t look at him, saying lazily, "I don’t feel like talking."

He paused. "Also, can you please stop calling me Little Point?"

Wu Sheng answered without a moment’s hesitation, "No, you are Little Point."

’Little Point is a great nickname, so endearing. Little boys are always in a rush to grow up and be men.’

Tang Mo finally turned his head to look at Wu Sheng and said seriously, "I’m already grown up. I’m not Little Point anymore."

Wu Sheng turned to him, a smile that didn’t reach his eyes on his face. "In my eyes, you’ll always be Little Point."

Tang Mo: "...." ’So annoying!’

Wu Sheng shot him a glance. "Puffing your cheeks like that is so cute. Why wouldn’t I call you Little Point?"

Tang Mo took a deep breath. "Just stop talking to me. I need some quiet."

Wu Sheng blinked. "Who’s Quiet?"

Of course, he had learned this from Su Li, and of course, Tang Mo knew it too.

Tang Mo took another deep breath and closed his eyes to rest.

"Did you not sleep well last night? Was it because you heard that your mom and I are getting married?"

Wu Sheng glanced at him and tactlessly continued to ask.

Tang Mo remained silent, but his lips tightened.

For once, Wu Sheng’s tone softened. "We’re going to live together in the future. I can’t pretend things will be exactly the same after we get married. But I can promise to do my best to keep your life from changing."

Tang Mo’s eyelids twitched. He was about to speak when he heard Wu Sheng continue.

"Of course, I’ll definitely be competing with you for your mom’s attention. There’s only one of her, and we both want to be with her. The time you have alone with her will definitely be less. I have to be honest about that."

Tang Mo snorted inwardly. ’I knew it!’

Wu Sheng reached up and scratched his eyebrow. "I was just thinking, if I were in your shoes, I definitely wouldn’t be happy about it. So, since it’s just the two of us right now—the time, place, and people are all perfect—let’s have a talk."

Tang Mo finally opened his eyes and glanced at him. "What do you want to talk about?"

"Let’s just talk about what we’re each thinking. Although I feel like our future squabbles will just be us matching wits and won’t drive us apart, it’s still best to talk it out and eliminate any ’what ifs’. After all, if something happens between us, the one who will be most upset and hurt is your mom."

Wu Sheng was serious; he had clearly thought about this beforehand.

After hearing this, Tang Mo stared ahead in silence. This was something he had also thought about.

Right now, he and this uncle were the most important people to his mom. If something really happened between them, his mom would be the one most hurt.

Tang Mo glanced at Wu Sheng out of the corner of his eye. "If you can do all the things you promised before, then I don’t have a problem. I... I don’t hate you, you know."

He said the last sentence very quietly.

But Wu Sheng still heard it. The corner of his mouth quickly curled up as he thought to himself: ’What does he mean, "don’t hate me"? He clearly likes me a lot.’

’Kids are just shy.’
